IE7 isn’t that bad. Firefox has just as many security issues, only difference is that Firefox can patch them quicker (because unlike Microsoft, they don’t have to schedule updates in advance to keep corporations and servers running happily). Personally, I’m with you on using Firefox just because I like the download manager better, and the ability to manage Firefox addons easily. But really it pisses me off when people try to say IE7 is bad. It’s fine… especially for us “tech savvy” people who are smart enough not to install 1000 spyware infested IE toolbars.

Major, you did awesome in comments but I have a feeling if you compared actual traffic stats to some of the major gaming blogs (Kotaku and Joystiq) the numbers would be insanely one-sided…..awesome statistics though, users and comments are the number one reason for this site. It’s not like you have ad-driven revenue coming in…….

Just looked at a few stat sites (and I’ve done actual comparisons to Google Analytics) and they are pretty close; MajorNelson.com does approximately 60,000 visitors (unique) worldwide each month; a site like Kotaku.com does around 4,500,000……those are just estimates but probably are pretty close to actuality…..

My head would explode if I got that many emails in one year. Thanks Major, e and litheon for a doing a great job.

Top site sending traffic here is Kotaku? That explains the extremely high population of whiners, snivelers, and crybabies that infect the comment portion of each and every blog post here. An extremely dubious achievement, to say the least, to be majorly fed from quite possibly the most hypocritical gaming “news” site on the entire Internet…

Now I’d love to know how many visits from each country this blog gets. The US has over 300 million inhabitants and the Netherlands only about 16 million (17 by now maybe?).

I’m one of the folks using Chrome to come here, but only because it’s the easiest way to use Google Reader, and that’s where I get my news from Kotaku and this site

Firefox, OUGH!!!

I have IE, Opera, Netscape, Safari, Google Chrome and Firefox. I use them for testing the websites I make. Firefox is nice indeed, and IE is somewhat a pain in the ass when it comes down to writing cross-browser JS and CSS, but by far it’s still THE BEST BROWSER I’ve ever used!
