Arcade, Marketplace By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson

  • MARVIC NL

There are thousands versions of “seek da thing” i a messy picture. In my opinion 800MP is way too much for such a game…

  • OSF

    Arkanoid???

  • Knohbody

For some reason, I keep thinking this is a sequel to the NES game Dr. Chaos.

  • N3WB13 R0N

it is man.. -.-’ another bad game on the marketplace..

  • Sneeches

M$ continuing to dissapoint with this.

    Thanks

  • David

Surely microsoft have plenty of decent XBLA titles waiting for release, why release so many stinkers in such a short space of time.

I mean in four weeks we’ve had a non-release, a jigsaw puzzle game, a crossword game, and now a spot the items game!

Come on microsoft, what are you playing at? Perhaps trying to drum it into our skulls that 800 points no longers affords us decent games, so the better releases look more attractive at 1200?

  • TES7769

I’ll stick with Waldo thank you very much:)

  • me

This game is sooo boooring, the trail is super short, if all the “fun” in the game is to look for tiny objects in a giant, static, blurry image then this game should be priced at 400 MP at most.

  • Mook

800 points ($10 USD) is the new $400 points ($5 USD)
Most games now are $10 – $15, even the worst of the worst games are a minimum of $10.
Thanks Microsoft! Leading the fight to nickel and dime every gamer.

  • Warrengonline

I’m downloading and will try this. I just purchased Xbox LIVE Arcade Unplugged Volume 1 on eBay for $4 (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/x/xblarcadeunpluggedvol1/default.htm), so Bejeweled 2 will be getting more play time. Maj, a 3:24 a.m. speedtest? “Get some sleep!”

  • MereHorseplay

    Total garbage

  • unbreakabIe

    This is a joke right?

  • Eviltattoo

Well, I thought Microsoft had learned what to put on Marketplace after their very successful and intelligent August 2008 release list.
    I guess not.
Back to bloated PC casual crap, and probably Atari 2600 titles.

Where are the Action RPG’s, and Sports games??? And Stickball does NOT count as a sports title.
    Eff this crap.

  • Mike Kelehan

I’m willing to keep an open mind. Playing a good seek and find game on an HDTV could be fun. I’ll be trying the demo as soon as I get home.

  • BeeDizz

What happened to the idea of removing titles so not to clutter up the marketplace? Has that idea been turned into filling the marketplace with as much crap as possible just so you can say you have X amount of titles in the library? Come on guys, these games CAN’T be selling….

  • SuperMuchBrown

Look, if you don’t like it don’t buy it but don’t assume there is not an audience for these types of games. My kids love the hidden object games. Sorry you don’t like it.

  • MADEIRA STEVE88

why ms why, stop these pointless games and you say u dont want true arcade ports….. why so u can make this awful games come on live?

  • i am a sheep

This is not relevant to the discussion, but is anyone else unable to post on the xbox.com forums? Every time I try to make a reply, I get the “page unavailable” screen – on ALL threads?!

    Is it broken at present?

  • xTKAx PvtPOOPY

I agree with SuperMuchBrown… My wife and I love to play coop games likes this.. They are great to play together.. I hope to see ALOT more like this.. There is an audience for everything.. Can’t wait for the Hasbro Family Nights series too..

People like the Street Fighter Games, I think we have way too many, does that mean they are bad? No, I just won’t buy them, not for me

  • shadaik

How come everybody’s hating on this game? I for myself will try it and see if it’s any good. If so, I’ll get it, if not, I’ll delete.

At least it’s not a virtual fireplace (scnr) or similarly (i)phoney crap.

  • Bob

    @ Warrengonline: Look closely… that’s 3:24 GMT, not PST.

  • Bushi no Eire

They’re trying to compete with the Wii so we’re getting alot of kids games. That would be o.k. if we got a proper game also every week and if they charged a fair price for these kids games.

P.S. I’m to lazy to sign in today…

  • Warrengonline

    @SuperMuchBrown
Did you purchase this for your kids and have they played it? I’m a fan of the ‘spy type interfaces and rotating digital globes’, but there is hardly any cool sound effects. That is only minor. I played the trial and well, the ‘magnified’ images under the magnifying glass were a bit hard to make out. That bird at the front of the trolley was something I had clicked on by mistake and it did not register. So I found myself doing th search and random click. Though there WAS a seagull on the side. The magnification was not ‘HD’ quality and my sis wears glasses so, I’m not sure if she’d like this now, but I’ll let her take a look at it.

    @Anon 6
Hmmm, okay, thanks. I seem to always get my local EST mixed with GMT and PST.

  • Warrengonline

    @Anon 7
Compete against the Wii with THIS? I HAVE to beg to differ. You’re in the Movies is more of a family and kids’ game. My nieces and nephews loved it this past Christmas. But I did find some issues (outside of the lighting for the camera). Game Informer was correct, the turns take too long and you can’t switch people like in Rock Band or Guitar Hero games. Meaning, 4 people play for like 35 minutes. While it is fun to play and watch people play, after the 1 or 2 games (like my friends) we all were a bit tired (more from fidgeting with the lighting). IF there is a You’re in the Movies part 2, we need up to 8 players, short burst of mini games. The technology in You’re in the Movies is FAR SUPERIOR to Rocky and Bullwinkle (terrible game) and to Totem Ball.

  • Warrengonline

    @ Anon 7 [Continued]
THIS technology by Codemasters / Zoe Mode could EASILY compete against the Wii WITHOUT a ‘Wii-like’ controller for the Xbox360 and require more physical movement. The just need to release JUST games (like Wii Play) for the Xbox360. Seriously.

These types of games would not be for most, but I think if there were ‘Vision Cam’ instruments, a Tetris type puzzle game where you push blocks, and a beat mania game like the Break Stone game in YITM, it would slowly take off. IF you have a Vision Cam connected to your Xbox360 and play a CD – stand in front of the camera and see what happens. I thought that was neat, though I just discovered it and do not know if that existed before NXE. It’s fun. Hopefully the games will be more innovative and creative. Sega has an ENTIRE collection to sift through – Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, on up to the Sega Dreamcast. If this does not change this year… Well Sony and Wii will play catch-up?

  • Warrengonline

    @Anon 11
    Very accurate. :]

  • SkyyPlum

I’m just sick of the arcade games lately, I mean I don’t mind when games like this are put up because I know there is a fan base for them but at least put another game up as well to cater to a larger fan base such as a sports, action, or party game. The past month has been horrible and the points I have just stay where they are because I have nothing to spend them on. A crossword game, a puzzle game and now this, what the hell Microsoft? Do you just care about the young, boring, and elderly now?

Can we please see a good game on the arcade this week, if not I’ll just start buying Wii points because at least they put some good games up for download.

  • Ollyh

Didn’t buy it, will never buy it.

  • Jeff

Great game, I loved it. Wish it was longer though. Any chance we can get some DLC to add more missions??

  • A Place for Us

These sort-of simple games should be no more than 400 MSP. Maybe they’d even make more money because they would sell more at that price?
