there is also a Skate. 2 Theme called new venola (is it??) basic theme so that cost 150 MSP but it says it was designed for the NXE in the description so my question is, is it a crappy theme or a NXE theme with the friends list part?

so is it a NXE theme or just a crappy theme that basicly has all the picture at the top?

Hey sorry for posting so many times but i found that its a basic crappy theme because the file size is 5MB and all the other premium theme are around 12-16MB

well I played the demo. Huge customization compared to the first one, wear and tear to clothing, deck and body. When you get hurt there is bruises on your body. They added the ability to walk and grab objects to move in place for different line setups. Pretty much the same game with just minor tweaks.

Can’t wait to try this, ohh and I’ll be downloading it on my ps3…the xbox joysticks are not made for this game.

Really looking forward to this, the first skate. is still one of my favorite gaming experiences, although I haven’t been back to it in a while. It was great to zone out to my own music and just play for a while; no goals in mind, just cruising around a huge city. Then I bought an iPod Touch and realized I couldn’t use it to play music on my 360. That’s easily one of the biggest drawbacks of the Touch for me, I used to love listening to my own playlist from my old iPod. Any chance that can be dealt with?

what happened to the online multiplayer they said was gonna be in the demo?

OH MAN this demo is even shorter then the last one! If you rip thru the tutorials fast, you can max out like 7 1/2 minutes of freeskate. WEAK. Thats not gonna stop me from repeating it about 5000 times though. LOL. Wooo!

Too bad you have to pay for Gold subscription to download it. It seems like that might cut into Skate 2 sales, since the purpose of a demo is to be a sales pitch. Maybe I’ll be able to download it later for free. Or maybe I won’t be able to. I can’t interpret the Xbox LIVE statements about Gold exclusives versus early access, despite the fact that I used to work for Xbox LIVE.

Anon 5 : I use my touch to play music, and it works just fine.. So i don’t know why it’s not working for you..

And to all readers…does anybpody else get an error message when trying to connect to UbiSoft via the “extra material” menu on Prince of Persia..?

Man, I loved the first Skate, but this feels like a step back in almost every way. I’ll give the demo a few more goes but right now this is not a buy for me.

I can’t wait to try this one out! I loved the first.

I downloaded it but I am pretty disappointed. The graphics aren’t nearly as good as I expected, and don’t even appear to be as good as the original skate. Especially the character model, it is just awful.
The cutscenes are completely pointless; they don’t develop the story and don’t look attractive either. Some of animation definitely need some work. The one where you hit something and the board goes flying but the player lands on his feet can look terrible at times, and he will be stuck in one frame of the animation as he falls over ten feet!

I wish i had better things to say as I love the original skate and spend countless hours just freeskating after beating it.

I definitely enjoyed this demo. Now that I’ve seen the Monster Energy sponsorship is real, I might pick it up!

Not nearly as good as the original. It seems the graphics have gotten worse, but I do enjoy the better customization, throwing he board from your feet, and moving objects. But I feel like skate. looked better, so far, it’s just a rent, which sucks.. I’ve been looking forwatd to this game ):

no normal person would pay money for a skin/theme. I’ve not bought one ever. MS really sucked with selling gamer pictures AND themes? the shit should be free.

I’ll be buying it. Playing the demo was awesome and it makes me want to go back and play the first one again. I might do that tomorrow.

go back to the replay editor. look at it more closely it takes a little getting used to but you can position the camera whereever you want now, instead of having preset angles.

Seems like the moving of objects is going to be something I’m going to hate doing. Getting off the board is nice but it makes it feel like I’m playing a Tony Hawk game and the way the board just flies to your hands damages the realism which I always loved about Skate. I’ll have to wait and see what the reviews have to say.

Tried the demo. The character models are absolute garbage, the control scheme is wonky, and the game just isn’t fun.

Thank you for the demo. It prevented me from purchasing this mess.

Ok I am sure you already seen the story about MS saying no BLURAY. But uh I am confused. Doesn’t the fact they made a HD-DVD player contradict the reasons the made for NOT making a BluRay attachment? Lame.

And where is this list that says BluRay is at the bottom of things that gamers want….what gamers?

Why don’t we want high quality movies and bigger data discs for gamers? I think MS is as always just being cheap and full of crap. I mean I got over the 360 RROD thing. And while I have issues with other things with MS…this, this is the most annoying thing.

I’ve really had enough with MS. As it is my friends that were buying 360s so we could all play I told them not to and to get some PC upgrades because after my Gold accounts runs out I am sticking to PC. 360 Is just for offline stuff. Blah. You failed MS, your lame cheap ways have gone overboard now.

oAssassin Xo, I am one of the gamers who put movies (both HD and Blu-Ray) at the VERY bottom of my list of desires. The 360 is a gaming system, not a movie theater. Watching movies is a bonus not a priority.

I’m certainly not a big fan of MS, but I do appreciate this decision. I hope you and both of your friends are happy watching movies on your PC.

in the full version of skate 2 they have promised to have 60fps locked in so it should run smooth ^^ and in games like this i rather have less “flash” and have in run perfectly smooth instead. and rember this demo is a kinda early build lots will have happened under the hood when final version comes out ^^

Yeah thats usually the way it goes, good games are announced and bad ones just pop up. I geuss microsoft thinks the public is to stupid to realize thats what they do. On topic: I quite enjoyed the demo, feel it should’ve been longer like the first one. When the demo for the first game was released I think I played it for about 10-15 hours total. Definitely my most-played demo. I don’t like the off-board mechanic. Why can you only walk straight forward? Very annoying that you have to turn, walk, stop, turn, walk, stop, turn, walk, stop.
