Edit: My understanding is that the free version is for players who want to play co-op with someone who has purchased the DLC.

    I’m not sure if I’m gonna buy this. I want the Fallout 3 DLC to be dated before I decide. I’m not convinced Fable has any more for me to do that’s terribly excited. Smashing a few new baddies doesn’t sound horribly enticing.

    Bad luck that my box broke yesterday.
    2 months after end of guaranty and no ROD… So I guess I won’t get a new one very soon. :-(

    When I was stricken with the RROD the first thing that came to mind was “I’m going to miss Knothole Island!” Fortunately enough I got my xbox back from repairs yesterday, so WooHoo!

    Unfortunately my xbox broke yesterday. No more video output. :-/

    Because it’s no RROD and the guaranty ended two months ago, I don’t think MS will repair it for free.
    I just bought an elite last week but I didn’t had the time to transfer any savegames yet. Ahhh … bad luck.

    Not sure if I will buy this update now. As far as I know I have to play the hole game again because Knothole Island is only available for heros right?

    Fable 2 was a major letdown.

    I’ll stick with Fallout 3… Hell, I might even break out Oblivion again.

    I recommend boycotting the DLC until Lionhead can release a patch that addresses all the major issues. My game is ruined due to the bug regarding spouse and 2nd ring. I was shocked to see that the recent “title update” didn’t fix the issue. Apparently several other major bugs have failed to be addressed, just visit the link for the “title update” Major posted and read the comments.

    Completing and releasing the DLC before patching the major bugs is just irresponsible.

    Sorry, but I don’t see how Fable 2 was any sort of a letdown at all. Other than the lack of variety in spells, weapons, and augmentations, everything else was expanded on greatly and they did an excellent job of bringing it to the end user.

    As for the DLC, it’s good that there will be a way for those of us that chose the ‘good’ ending to get a friend back…

    I enjoyed Fable 2, even it if it was a bit on the short side.

    I wouldn’t mind knowing how big this expansion is – 800 mps seems awfully cheap…..I have a bad feeling it will turn out to be the size of the pirate island.

    I would buy the DLC if I could finish the main game. My wife is lost in some town that is not her hometown, and my final quest wants me to talk to her. I appreciate the other bug fixes, though.

    WORST DLC EVER, bought it played 30 mins, got finished damn waste.

    I love Fable but this is so a let down.

    Yeah ! A dlc ! And an update a few days ago. And ? I still can’t play it… 30 hours of play, my save is broken, thanks the Pub Games and this damned hair style card… So, no dlc for me, and a Fable 2 to resale.

    I’m not sure what is wrong with BOTH copies of Fable 2 I have. My original copy worked fine until NXE, then it started crashing (locking up the game and system; co-op games were haulted at the load screen AFTER you choose your default co-op player.) I let a friend borrow it and he has not had any issues. To join him, I borrowed a friend’s copy. It still kept freezing. Okay, started a entirely new character from scratch. Things seemed to be going well until I left my home ‘village’ and running to the next town. [FREEZE]. None of my friends are having this issue. Not sure what to do except play other games. DLC will be waiting for me later. Fable 2 is an awesome single player experience. Fable 2 is an awful thing to play co-op if you’ve played Crackdown co-op. Shame, but it’s still a good game (more pets and a mount or two in a future Fable).

    Wait, so if you have the premium pack, you can play co-op completely.

    If you have the premium pack, and your co-op buddy does not, they need the free pack to play, BUT NOT COMPLETE, the DLC.

    If you want to FINISH the premium pack on co-op, BOTH players need the premium pack.

    Huh? This is confusing, and completely NOT easy. Why would you play the extra content if you can not finish it? That makes the FREE version kind of lame.

    XBox 360 – This is STUPID on so many levels.

    For you morons out there complaining about how Fable ruined your XBOX, it isn’t Fable, it’s something else. The game plays fine, yes there are bugs, but the bugs aren’t causing systems to fail. Quit blaming it on the game when it isn’t. You probably who are experiencing problems are probably the same people who use the worthless Intercooler’s, or have the back of the system pushed up against a wall or inside a cabinet with the doors closed, thus not allowing for proper ventilation. Fable 2 worked just fine for me, and everyone I know, there is no problem with the game outside of a few minor bugs. Man, I hate it when people blame the game when it is their own incompetence!

    It would be great to see some free stuff going up.

    fable 2 is a letdown cus you can’t die. why even level up or buy anything? if my friend wasn’t borrowing it, itd be sold ages ago. games need some kind of challenge, a monkey could beat fable 2.

    I payed 10 bucks for 15~30 minutes of gameplay. Well that was disappointing.

    There’s 10 books to find and a crap load of dig spots found by the dog but that doesn’t count for beefing out the gameplay. On top of that the quest/ enemies were insanely easy. I was expecting this to be made for people with max level since most people had already beaten the game by now.

    The co-op in this game is terrible because you have to share one screen instead of having your own so don’t get too excited with the co-op thing.

    Overall the content was enjoyable and it was nice to see something new to do in fable and I’m sure the dev team worked hard on this but for such short game play, it’s not worth buying.

    Why did they have to do this stupid free or premium crap? Either give us the full version or nothing at all. All this does is create co-op incompatibilities and gives the people with the free version a gimped, partial version of it. LAME!

    DLC is a major let down for me.
    Played Fable2 with no prob and no bugs (except the furniture shop but i didn’t care about furniture) 1000/1000.
    Downloaded Knothole island and my game freezes my console after 1 or 2 minutes in the game or in the loading screen. I tried 6 times to play the game and all of them crashed after 2 minutes.
    The only way for Lionhead to see my money in the future is by …… telescope. :-)

    800 for MSP for 30 mins of gameplay, no thanks.

    Fable 2 was such a letdown, it took me a week to complete it with 1000GS and I didn’t play it more than 2 hours a day.

    I have Knothole Island YAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!. But i done the ice shrine, and now there is nothing to do, i spoke to the cheiftain, he gave me reward, Chieftain disappears and is NOWHERE to be found. I feel robbed of 8000 MSPoints. Also trying to sign in to this website is impossible, tried to sign in but it told me that my account was locked out or something, harumph.

    I’m not sure if I was included in your rant, but I did not say “Fable II gave my Xbox360 Red Rings”. I’m not blaming Fable II for anything. I just stated ALL of my other games work just fine, no issues. Now what I noticed AFTER NXE my Viva Pintat:TIP data corrupted, along with my Crackdown data (and my cousin’s too and he’s a bit pissed, but I love the game so much, I’ll kill the Volk and take down the Shai Gen Corp over and over and never be bored in 2 hour doses.

    As for my Xbox360 freezing up on two separate copies of Fable 2, I don’t know what to say about that. I do not use cooler fans, but I do use a GameStop wired controller for my Street Fighter games and I have a 4 port USB Hub connected for my Mac Keyboard, Rock Band Mic, Treo cellphone charger and SanDisk e260 MP3 Charger (that sometimes I plug in a USB Flashdrive in for listening to music or loading photos in for Photo Party). Is that wrong? I do not remember reading that in the tiny manual, but I can go check later this weekend.

    The free one really is a joke, plus it’s half a GB big; so there indeed are reasons not to download the free version. Go for the paid one, the free one is not worth the disc space.

    @Anon 17: Yes. When you start the free version of the quest in single player, as soon as you can enter the Island, a popup will appear with the option to get the premium one in order to continue.

    Those complaining and saying it only last 30 minutes, you do know the quest i in 3 parts? You have to leave the island for the next quest to appear.

    I liked it and it was just worth the 800 points. Could have done with more side quests and different puzzles, the orb ones are a bit lame.
