FIFA 09 Live Season DLC Price Drop

You may have seen this from my UK doppelganger Acey Bongos, but I wanted to remind you that today the LIVE season DLC for FIFA 09 is now cheaper.  The individual leagues English Barclay’s Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A, French Ligue 1, German Bundesliga and Mexican Primera Division are now 420 points each, down from 560 Points each, while the package of all six leagues, originally 1600 points is now 1200 points. These lower prices are available in all Xbox LIVE regions.

    Incoming!!!!

Whoop de doo! Excuse me, but shouldn’t this be free? I’m sure that “most” FIFA owners have got their own division free and still won’t bother paying for any other leagues. What’s the point of paying for the weekly updates for some teams which neither I nor my mates will ever play with?

  • Cal

    Not worth paying for anyway…

  • Mark

    Nice one thanks major :)

  • ElektroDragon

How about lowering the price on some of the outrageously overpriced 1200 point games instead?

  • DeathsKamikaze

Shouldn’t it be half price, as we are halway through the season?
    Although this is EA…

  • padilla21 Live

    great!!

  • Blaqckened75

    I like turtles

  • metallicorphan

shouldnt cost any money in the first place

    FIFA/EA=Robbing bastards

  • insani

im not going to pay for this bs

  • Andrew

Wait a minute, are you telling me the Premier League DOESN’T come with the game?!?! Wow, I was about to buy it too.

Hopefully sales will stay dismal and this experiment will end…this is an attempt by EA to “strike back” at re-sellers by making a used or rented product inferior to the new (buying this or NBA Live 09 new gives you code to get some of the updates for free), and then you get to buy this kind of content. If they try to tack this kind of stuff on NCAA and Madden there will be a very loud outcry, as roster updates, especially from a company that insists on using their own crappy servers, should be FREE!

Speaking of EA servers, how does the policy about “achievements being attainable by anyone” pertain to EA games they no longer support? If EA is going to keep using their own servers, and keeps shutting them down, then they should not be allowed to have online achievements in their games, as it violates the “policy” that MS has posted.

You get a season free when you first register your copy of the game – personally I don’t see the point in buying live season stuff for other leagues. There’s also no point in buying it for next season either since no doubt FIFA ’10 is already in the works.

  • workbench

We shouldnt be paying for this at all. But there are stupid people who will pay, thus making the marketing section think it was a sucess, and plan for future expansion.

  • Anon

This is ridiculous, paying for commentary and Adiddas LIVE? You would have to be just plain stupid.

  • Exu

    How ridiculous.

  • x KNIFEPOINT x

EA again charging for stuff that should be included already in the game for free.

  • SkinnerY2K

Robbing gits. This should be free. Why would you want to pay for it? In theory it’s a good idea, in reality the fact that it has to be paid for is a joke.

  • Anon 11

Should be free as these “updates” are not worth any kind of hard earned cash. typical EA
