Im kind of upset that they bleeped the bad words. Should of just had a warning or at least a censored and uncensored version. Kind of ruins the bit.

I already played the RE5 demo though, ugh, questionable means. I give it a ‘meh’ out of five. The controls were the biggest disappointment. Why, oh why, can I not move while holding the left trigger?

Hey stepto, is there a buyer beware on used hard drives, too? I had a 20GB hard drive problem, E68 or whatever. Immediately went back and returned it.

This episode wasn’t broadcast in 1950. Nor the deep south. It’s a legitimate comment to make regarding the strange situation how quickly descriptions of a persons race can be perceived to be offensive.

Great show especially the interview with Felicia Day which reminded me I haven’t seen any new episodes of the guild on live for a while. I’ve just checked and can’t find any at all now and clicking the link to add to download queue through xbox.com it says not available in your regeon ( UK )? WTF? I’v already watched 3 or 4 episodes through live so what gives?

I think you’re being a little harsh, tabicat. Listening to how he says it, no, he probably didn’t think he was making a racist comment. I certainly don’t believe that was his intent. My impression was (in the context) that he didn’t know what word to use.

I can’t blame him for being confused or ignorant about what word might carry what negative weight. I mean, it’s not like he dropped the “n-bomb”. It wasn’t that long ago that “colored” wasn’t a bad word, and only slightly longer that the “accepted” term for a person of African descent was a “Ne–o”.

The interview with Felicia Day was great and I always love it when Stepto is on the show. Hmmm, I’m not usually offended such, but the comment was ‘disturbing’, but not as racist or derogatory. It was more “whatever” that shocked me and got my attention. “COD4 is a good first person shooter action-packed game. Ensemble Studio or whatever… did a great job.” – bad analogy, but get the point? It’s really not what you say, its HOW you say it. Adlib is awesome, but when referring to something that is different, such as Obama, “First Black American…” would have fit nicely. Or safer and unsure “He is the First Non-Caucasian…” (emphasis on ‘first’). This is reminding me of Coming to America and the Rocky Marciano skit.

Also, ‘Colored’ and ‘Negro’ are still legally accepted words today – my family (black) still uses those words in daily conversations (my dad is 81 years old – ‘over yonder’ are words you really need to know the distance ). “That colored boy…” is normally used a lot. I don’t care for either, but I’m not offended by it.

It’s just e added the “whatever” at the end. “…which ever ethnic selection you choose…” (said jokingly) would have cleaned that right up. Cliffy B. does a great job in Dev vids with Cole and Dom. Sad, it’s 2009 and this subject still stains some relations. “Obama, the new guy in town.”

Felicia Day was crazy fun. Wish there were more exactly like her – laid back, but definitely not boring.

I nomminate Battlefield for the community playdate. It’s a great multiplayer game, and based on the ammount of people you want to set up, it will be better.

A quick question based on the same game: how come it does not appear on the front page of your game library? I mean, the last 3 games you played appear on that page as the boxes they come in, but Battlefield appears blank. Anyone else has seen this?

Enjoyed the podcast. As a techie, I especially liked the part with Stephen Toulouse. However, I don’t think that the censored discussion of inappropriate gamertags adds to the value of the show. I find it to be in poor taste.

Felicia Day’s “The Guild” is incredible. God she is the only reason I get on XBL, JUST to see her next show. I’m so glad it’s free and sponsored by Sprint!

I believe the show is done on their own time, and funded with their own money, so your complaints will be fruitless. It’s like blaming the school I go to for a crime I commit over Christmas break. And even if those comments were made on company time/money, I don’t see how they were racist. It’s no secret that e and Major Nelson support Obama, and E had a pause in there before he said “black.” He was legitimately unsure what to say there, and if he had said “African American” we’d probably have crazy conservatives here complaining that they are too politically correct (Ok, maybe not but you get my point). Anyways guys don’t sweat it…

As a side note, does anybody have a link to download the podcast Stepto was in last year? I searched stepto on this site and could only find this podcast.

I would love to here that show to, or at least the part where Stepto is in. I wish he would come one more often, then once a year.
