    It’s because of people like you that Microsoft is increasing prices on digital content despite the lack of any increased value.
    It’s not about whether or not we can afford it – It’s about whether or not we are stupid enough to eat it up… like you.

    What do you mean by Microsoft “increasing prices on digital content”? If these games were released at 800 points each, nobody would be complaining about it. The games have been revamped and 2D/3D is interchangable. There’s online leaderboards and co-op. So where is the “lack of increased value”?

    What, do you want a 2 hour, poorly written sob story over nuclear destruction like Braid, covered in a fancy Mario clone? Or perhaps Castle Crashers, which had HORRENDOUS netcode? Don’t talk to me about eating it up.

    1200 points! NO WAY! I hope this is not the sign of things to come!

    While some of you have decided to argue more, I FINALLY made it to level four of Omega Five!! Yes, I’m happy. 1200 points is 1200 points. R-type Dimensions is a good game – players can not stress this enough. Some of my friends are eating it up and not taking names as they enjoy it (while in waiting for Street Fighter IV). I’m not happy about the 1200 price point, but I’m not mad either. If MS somehow got the rights to Killer Instinct on SNES and added online play (unlike Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast) and priced it at 4000 points, I know I’d but it as it is my favorite fighting game, next to the Street Fighter series. But we’d still whine if there is lag (netcode), missing frames, re-scored music that does not belong in the game, different voices used for the announcer, etc. SFHDR has gotten better, lots of bugs gone rarely appearing during play.

    @Etrian
    The ‘price thing’ is like an election here if the game is 1200+. If you buy it, no matter how good it is or what it offers, you’re expected not to buy it as that = “Yes, I love the high price of mediocre arcade games, please sir, give us more of these prices.” (or that is how I see it.) MS knows what they are doing and maybe, just maybe on Fourth of July 2009 we might have ONE day called ‘Arcade Independent Bonanza Day’ where all games for ONE day are only 800 points and lower? Sales would be in the records and spike the charts. Shhhh, I didn’t tell you that though.

    Etrian = Misinformed.

    The problem is not that this title is 1200 points. It is that R Type on its own would be 400 points, as would R Type 2. This is how retro arcade games have been priced since day 1. I challenge you to find me a title that breaks this rule. Why does combining them mean I have to pay 400 points extra?
