    I haven’t yet received the UPS labels to ship my 360 to Germany for repairs (2nd time a brand new console has to go in for repairs after 18 months) so I’ll give this a go tonight.

    It’s a really dumbed down Ace Combat. If Ace Combat 6 was too complex or realistic for you, then HAWX might be up your alley.

    wow to think that Ace combat is more a sim than this is scary. just tried the demo and its ace combat for babies. You cant go into the cockpit wile in the Advance mode. Your controlling your plane like its an RC plane in that mode not cool in my book. IMO save 30 bucks and pick up ace combat 6 it more of a flight game than this.

    i liked the demo,but i didnt like how it took you miles from your plane(as said like a RC plane) and still trying to control it and dodge missiles and shoot planes etc..and i was forever tilting my own head trying to make head or tail of which way i was pointing

    i liked the Ace Combat 6 demo much better..i really must buy that game one day

    damn its rated teen and telling me this account is not permitted to download content with this rating…i just downloaded the halo wars demo a few days ago with this same account and thats rated teen as well, what gives? (also is there any way to change your age or get rid of this problem…my parents are perfectly fine with me playing mature rated demos as i already own mature rated games, why cant there be an option for downloading certain demos in the parental settings?

    Definatly not as good as good as Ace Combat 6……… It Does feel like a dumbed down version on AC6.

    Excellent game, as i Ace Combat fan i really do like this game, with the physics and features at hand, i rate this game as a Flight Combat Simulator 4/5, the camera angles i think let this down. but overall i recommend this demo

    Well, this game is an Ace Combat clone down to a Z. Same planes, same mission structure, same “aces” that you face… only with some n00b-friendly assists, like suggested interception trajectory and that whole third person flying thingy.

    All in all, if you liked Ace Combat, you should probably get this game but play it strictly without any assists and on Elite difficulty.

    The graphics could be much much better and some physics. I had more fun with Ae Combat 6 so this is a bit of a let down I ssuppose :( Flying gmes are fun!!!

    What are you talking about? Ace Combat has the story of a war between Fakestonia and Stupidnameia. And seriously…. a flying game where the enemy has “aces”. DUH. And why do you say the third person flying is a “noob-friendly assist”? The whole point of it is too allow you to do cool moves instead of normal flying games where you just fly.

    I thought the demo was excellent. Finally, a good story for a flying game. Doesn’t have any fake countries or fake planes. Excellent. This should be a good game.

    By mission structure I meant have your teammates follow same simple atk/dfnd structure as Ace Combat, having some sort of overseeing radar plane tell you what to do, just like Ace Combat, hell, even plane selection SCREEN is the same as Ace Combat.

    The only thing they added is the n00b assist button, aka the X button, which shows you the path to intercepting enemy planes, path to attacking ground targets and the path to dodge rockets. Anyone with any sort of previous air combat exposure would know these things.

    What’s so great about this story? You’re a merc hired by country to defend another country. Very original. Not saying Ace Combat had a good story, but at least it was original, somewhat.

    And Ace Combat had very few fake planes, most of them were prototypes. This game uses prototypes as well, like Su-47, of which only 1 machine was produced to date.

    Oh and that whole, watch out for a group of “aces” on souped-up planes is straight from Ace Combat too.

    I’m surpised why Namco hasn’t sued this game into oblivion for obvious copy/paste.

    So, i tried it. Good point for technical quality of the game, the manual and auto modes but i do prefer the Ace controls (and there is sadly, and as Ace Combat, no speed sensation which is a little bit annoying to my point of view for jet fighters.

    Waiting to test the game.

    When I first saw the trailer for this game, I thought it would be amazing. I thought the graphics would be great. I thought it would be more realistic than Ace Combat. I thought the missions would be more realistic, with different support roles.

    Turns out I was wrong. The graphics look cartoony. Switching to advanced mode makes you feel like you are flying a toy airplane. Switching to the normal view reduces flight capabilities and realism. You can’t even stall while you are in the normal view. Based on this demo, I’m not buying the game. What a letdown. I usually love flying games (might actually be a pilot in a few years), but this game is not good.

    Dogfights are about max performing your aircraft. This game is just about how long you can hold the breaks until you stall. Completely lame.

    played the demo and to be honest its left me feeling rather cold towards it.i love ghost recon and rainbow but this ones not for me ime afraid.
