Fable II achievements news

 

Sam over at Lionhead has posted statistics about Fable II’s achievement, and he mentions that we can look forward to more DLC.  It’s a quick read, with some interesting context to choices we have made in the game.

    Hopefully the DLC has more bang for your buck than Knothole Island did. Knothole Island was simply too short and uninspired.
    A Fable 2 expansion in line with Shivering Isles and the L & the D would be best.

    Bring on more DLC! Fable II was just fantastic, and I enjoyed Knothole Island. The blog post says 2.6 million sold. Now that’s impressive.

    Still not 100% sold on Fable II. Guess I need to play more of it but damn does it play soooo slow.

    Hopefully LH will realize that Knothole Island, while fun and entertaining, was waayyy too short. I would gladly pay 1200 or even 1600 MSP for a significant amount of content, i.e. TLAD.

    Is anything going to be done about the fact that Fable 2 violates Microsoft’s achievement rules? Specifically that it’s not possible to get the full 1000 gamerscore as shipped without purchasing the Fable 2 Pub Games DLC. These rules were posted on the Gamerscore blog on 2/1/07.

    It’s not possible to get the “Completionist” achievement without getting the expressions from the Pub Games, which is not a free download. This is NOT COOL for someone like me who is trying to get the full 1000/1000 (or 1100/1100 if you count the 100 points from Knothole Island).

    Yay more achievements… I already have every single one and need an excuse to continue playing this game.. I will not hesitate to buy new DLC for this game.

    OshkoshGiik–you’re dead, 100%, Grade-A certified wrong. Read the achievement details over again, and then think about it. Or better yet, look at my complete Gamerscore for Fable II and look at my game history. Yup, no Fable II Pub Games.

    Maybe, OshkoshGiik, you just need to make better friends on XBL?

    Excellent! This is great news!

    At one stage I thought they had given up on the 1,000s’ of people awaiting a a new patch to address all the game breaking glitches! Oh wait, they have given up!!!!! They’re happy to sell us customers wanting to finish the game more content though instead of a patch to fix the faulty product!

    Ummmm YAY!? No justice, terrible absolutely terrible Lionhead!

    The trick to achvs you can’t get in your own game is “…or watch a hero do____” for almost every single achv in the game. Co-op with someone who has the expressions will get you the achvs. If anything violated the “achievement rules” it’s EA games that no longer have online support…how do you get those?

    I am hoping any future DLC for Fable 2 is more impressive and worthwhile than Knothole Island… forgive me if I am out of line but it seemed stupid and pointless to me and, 5 minutes in, I regretted paying for it.

    About the violation of achievement rules.. yes they did. I, as well as many others, got the achievements through other means. I got “The completionist and The dollcatcher” before I even beat the game the first time. (I have beat the game 2 times thus far)

    I feel for those of you without online connectivity though.. they kinda stuck one way up in ya on that

    how about dlc that lets you actually die in the game?

    felt like playin an old nes game with the game genie.

    Im trying my best to avoid buying ea games
    due to this stupid policy of retiring games

    Even if it doesnt make them think twice it makes me feel better

    and if i have to buy an ea game i make sure its second hand
    so ea doesnt get any cash from it
