Edit: There are some issues with The Pitt. It has been pulled down from the service and Bethesda is looking into it

Update:We have a team of people working with Bethesda on the availability of The Pitt and we will re-post an updated version on Xbox LIVE Marketplace as soon as possible. For anyone who purchased the initial version of The Pitt, you’ll need to delete the title from your storage device and re-download the final version once it’s available.

  • bknight2k

Yes, now i can play more fallout 3

  • Goopher

Please please release the english version of The Pitt in Switzerland as you did with Operation Anchorage! French and german isn’t enough. Are you paying attention Bethesda/Microsoft? :)

  • I Yova I

finally! can’t wait to arrive at home and download it!!

  • Xebu

Nooo, even more to spend money on ;-(

Please release more rubbish stuff, I need to save!!!

  • HeavenOrHell

I would wait to dl it since there are issues with the content. I posted this on the Bethesda forums.

  • bknight2k

hopefully uno will be up soon

“its people infected by a nightmare plague of disease, infection, and mutation…”

So even in a fantasy future the inhabitants of Pittsburgh remain unchanged.

  • Atomicow

This is glitched! Do not download until it’s confirmed fixed, there are reports of it corrupting safe files!!!

  • AuXoIs

It’s not worth it. It’s completely broken. Textures & Graphics are glitchy and bugged. There are these box exclamation points all over The Pitt map. I think someone screwed up because it’s completely bugged out. It’s like not playable after the bridge because it freezes. If you manage to get past the bridge part you’re pretty much in glitch city. Good Luck.

  • rcohee

-WARNING- this DLC as of right now will either freee up your xbox when trying to get to the new area or be so glitchy it will be unplayable wait to get it do not waste your points as i did!!

  • Damake85

Oh darnit, I bought it and I can confirm the DLC is broken, I got past the bridge just fine tho but once in the city there’s some weird graphical glitches everywhere and some odd texture changing, plus that the game freezes all the time now, NOT happy at all, fix this or I wan’t my points/money back!

@bknight2k arcade games are released on Wednesdays not Tuesdays. I can’t even download the pitt or get any updates live is messing about. I thought it might have been my xbox so tried clearing the cache now I cannot play any game online. Hope its sorted soon

  • SalamanderSkill

Great work Bethesda on bring out broken quality.
Great work Microsoft for the ‘quality assurance’ by permitting obviously BROKEN content onto xbox live.
Great work MajorNelson for promoting broken work.

  • Danowat32

Nasty, looks well broken from all the reports of various forums, I’ll stay away from this one untill I see the green light.

  • Damake85

Well now I tried redownloading the DLC, and they wan’t MORE MICROSOFT POINTS!? What the hell, I already paid for it, I’m NOT gonna pay again, I wan’t my points back NOW so I can redownload the DLC that I’we already paid for!

  • Damake85

Umm ok, now I can magically download it again, will see if it’s the same as before

  • oO BeLGaRaTh Oo

Why is this not available on PC versions?

  • HH Li

is it working on asian version?

It was probably an accidental update of an early version. Human error, it happens. Relax those who are freaking out for no reason. Bethesda is known for great CS and will fix it.

  • bknight2k

    oO BeLGaRaTh Oo
IS is available for the PC, Live is so slow at the moment

  • darkjester74

The mods at Bethesda are guessing there are missing files in the DLC, they seem hopeful it will be fixed soon. Sounds like a relatively simple mistake and easy to fix.

My question is how did this get past certification?

  • Danowat32

Dunno, but it sorta makes a mockery of the fact that the Midnight Club LA DLC is held in MS certification while the PS3 one is out in the wild…..

  • Goodeye84

@darkjester74 you forget we are talking about the Xbox certification team here right? This crap seems to happen all the time.

  • oxymoronx420

All this extra certification does nothing…. They’re still releasing all sorts of games with deal-breaking bugs.

What worries me is MS relasing broken DLC, with rules like ‘No refunds’ that’s just wrong.

  • Major Nelson

I’ve sent an email off to Bethesda to see what’s up with this. I’ll post if I get details.

  • ThatTangent

Seriously, what the hell happened to certification?

  • Goodeye84

@oxymoronx420 Thats the think though some people reported after calling CS they were able to get a refund secondly. Since you already bought it once the new version is put in it’s place you just delete the old file, and download the new one.

Also saw Major Nelson saying he was sending an email to Bethesda to see whats up. I seriously doubt it was Bethesda’s issue. This has to go through certification. Missing textures “!” all over the place you can’t tell me the team that had to play this for certification missed all of that. My feeling was they also had an alpha build and that’s what was uploaded. I have seen it happen to many times to place the blame on the developers.

  • Danowat32

I think you’ll find the “no refunds” thing won’t stand up if the item supplied doesn’t do what it was described to do (i.e. not work properly).

    At least in the UK.

  • awp69

LOL. MS certification is even more of a laughing stock now. First, they hold Midnight Club on the day it’s supposed to be released when the PS3 version was released just fine (at least in comparison to this). And now they DO release a complete disaster for Fallout. WTF?!?!

I love how Major is quick to say he’ll contact Bethesda to see what’s up with this content. But there hasn’t even been a comment AT ALL on the status of Rockstar’s fix for the MC DLC.

If you’re gonna contact Bethesda and provide an update, PROVIDE ONE ON THE MIDNIGHT CLUB CONTENT TOO!!!! What happened and is there a timeframe for when 360 owners will be able to enjoy what PS3 owners already are?

  • Goodeye84

Ya well I think it’s Major’s way of blaming the developer without actually blaming him probably cause it isn’t their fault. Sorry Major I really wanna believe you guys are perfect but it just aint true. Every bit of DLC goes through certification you can’t tell me your guys missed this stuff it’s just not possible.

  • Danowat32

I can’t believe how both MS and Rockstar have handled this DLC problem, there has been no word from either side, I have mailed both, and both are VERY tightlipped.

This, The Pitt(s), and the fact that we are weekly getting shafted on the marketplace by crappy deals, and overpriced shovelware is getting beyond a joke.

  • Pastel360

Thats pretty disappointing, I have no idea how a totally broken DLC got past microsoft’s “perfect” certification division ;)

  • hallben

If you havn’t been lucky enough to experience this cock up, head over to here: to see what people are talking about.

  • oO BeLGaRaTh Oo

Working or not, I am still unable to see this DLC on PC … I paid for the game, I want to purchase the DLC too.

  • ElektroDragon

Great, yet another BUG RIDDEN Bethesda release that does nothing to fix their shoddy game mechanics that have you level capped halfway through the game. Bethesda games are all about glitz, size, and lots to do, but completely forget about quality control or decent game mechanics. I wish someone else had acquired my beloved Fallout license now. Imagine what 2K Boston might have done with it!

  • Goodeye84

@ElektroDragon I highly doubt this is their fault if it is then them and the live certification team should be healf accountable for releasing this apparent early build of the game

  • rcohee

thanks for the update major nelson cant wait till its working

Aw, what? I waited all day to get home to download and play this and it’s not even there ’cause it’s broken?

  • DeadOne Walking

Seriously, this stinks. BUT, using the provided link from Major Nelson, the theory as of now is a corrupt file, meaning it needs to be replaced and re-downloaded. That’s annoying, but on the consumer end it’s a simple fix. This could have happened anywhere from when the content left Bethesda to when MS enabled it on the servers to be downloaded.

Basically, without knowing the entire process and being able to track it, we have no idea where this happened. This is not the first time this happened, other games had this happen to. The content was pulled and in a few hours available again. Same content so there was no cost to the users and the re-download was fine. And yes, I purchased that content and had this happen to something I paid for. We can’t know who to blame, and so I mutually blame everyone and no one. This unfortantely might make future downloadable releases have a delay for verification of file/files integrity and/or other verification to prevent this from happening again. It stinks because then we have to wait longer for the content to be released to the public.

And yes, I have issues with Ovblivion, to the point where I lost over 150hours in my game because of a minor glitch. I also have had the RROD, and issues with other MS products. This stuff happens, no one wants it to, but it does. In this situation, as long as everything gets fixed at not cost to the end user and as quickly as possible, I don’t see there being much of a point in going nuts.

  • KurosawasGhost

I love how they put it on Bethesda, its Microsoft’s certification monkeys that messed up!

  • rcohee

have you not been listening? that may or may not be true the file could have been corrupted after the certification was passed and it was uploaded to the marketplace may just have been an computer error

  • Turtle502

this reminds me of the TR “Beneath the Ashes” fiasco, but at least they managed to pull that DLC before releasing it…at the last minute (the day before). I was looking forward to this but will wait now until people can confirm it’s fixed.

  • AllTeam

Unfortunate, any timeline Major? Or News?

  • Cronan

Corrupt file? Do the MS certification team and Bethesda not use checksums? This stinks.

  • BrooksterMax

when this is properly released, look forward to trying it! :)

  • Pastel360

Somehow I dont believe something as small as a corrupt file would take so long to fix

  • NeoMorphUK

They are probably checking WHY it got corrupted and making sure that the new upload is correct which means playing through the game to check possibly.

I do hope they get it sorted soon because I want to play what I paid for along with many thousand other people who downloaded the broken version. Still, I enjoyed Operation Anchorage and will try to wait patiently while they fix The Pitt.

Perhaps they will rename this DLC “Fallout 3:The Pitt of Despair”.

  • IconicSoulJA

The PC version is available! The Pitt is PC exclusive!! :) Finally a PC exclusive. Thanks Microsoft!!

Anyway, all jokes aside. I think M$ got the finalized content from Bethesda and they certified it. When it was time to put it on the LIVE servers, they uploaded the wrong DLC.

The wrong DLC could have come from previous builds Bethesda gave Microsoft to certify and these versions failed.

    My 2 cents.

  • Satanic Goat

This reminds me of the SWOS nightmare. I left work early for that too……..Cursed i tell you cursed, it must be my Gamertag

  • bknight2k

The last 2 pieces of DLC that i have downloaded, Have had bugs first the Maw now Fallout 3 this is a really bad sign I am not sure if i will purchase any more DLC.
