Team meeting Twitter feedback

Thanks to everyone who was a (virtual) part of our Team meeting on Monday. As you can see in the photos (here and here), we projected your tweets on two large screens at the front of the meeting for the entire LIVE team to read. If you want to go back and read the hundreds of tweets to see what you missed, you’ll see an interesting stream of consciousness from the LIVE community. Overall, the comments were well received and certainly will help us as we continue to develop the LIVE service.

For those of you that asked, the program we used to display the Tweets was Flotzam. It is a simple application written by some folks here at Microsoft that will not only grab Tweets, but can also display data from Flickr, YouTube, Digg and RSS feeds. It’s a free download that is worth a look if you want to try this at your next meeting.

That’s an interesting way to get the community involved. Thanks for the pics Larry!

I’m just wondering if the team passed on any comments from the UK Live members that got involved?

  • SSG CodeMonkey

    Just wondering…
what suggestions will the Live Team look at as possible implementations?

  • DempsyMac

Larry this was a great idea, and also may I say these are the kind of posts that I come to your blog to read, not to see what is new on marketplace. Thanks for keeping it interesting and giving us an eye (and voice) inside the xBox offices.

I tried to install Flotzam, but it kept telling me I need .Net framework 3.0 installed. Weird thing is, I already have .Net Framework 3.5 installed, so when I tried to install .Net framework 3.0 it said I already have a newer version installed. Any ideas who I can contact about this?

Would be nice to hear what ideas that were given via twitter were discussed in the meeting, and what the live team considers to be its priorities for the next year or two.

I’m impressed, good stuff Major. But can you have a “classics” section for some of the Live arcade items in the same way you do for full games.

  • Arsenic13

Look my comment is there!! Ahhhh!

  • peachy001

Sorry, forgot to put this in too.

Is there anychance that the demo’s or games I buy could be the latest version as I sometimes have to download a patch which just bugs me.

Lastly, bring back ReVolt as an arcade game, I need closure on that one Major.

  • peachy001

Unrelated to Arcade, but are you gonna get E’s gamerscore on your site (doesn’t have to be whole gamercard) as you mention it all the time on your pod cast.

  • peachy001

It would be nice to know the file size of an item before I try to download it. I know it gives you it eventually but a little sooner in the chain would be nice.

  • JaggedCrane

    Looks distracting.

  • threeleggedcow

    Fix the laggy guide. Thanks

  • Nex Antonius

I wish I had known about this sooner. I have many suggestions that could be useful, and fear a lot of them were just ho-hum. (i.e. “Make Xbox Live free.”)

  • oxymoronx420

Hey Major, I heard today that the new Xbox Live Primetime (1v100)will not be available to CANADIANS!

You guys are giving away a 2010 Honda Insight, but not for Canadians.
Once again, yet another reason why I am now on strike and refuse to pay for Xbox gold membership.

Other countries (USA) get freebies (ms points giveaways, free xbl content), contests and all sorts of stuff that we get left out of.

What really burns me is that we still continue to get charged more than our US counterparts for MS points and XBL subscriptions and get NONE of the perks….

Major could you please clarify real soon about just who will be allowed to join in the primetime fun on May 15th?

didn’t get a chance to ask anything since I was busy at the time. One thing I would ask is why doesn’t more DLC decrease in price as time goes by since the games release. I mean you can get the dlc for kameo for the same price as the game at the store, that’s pretty lame. can’t you just decrease the price of stuff like that to just 100 points rather than 400? I don’t expect decreases in price of gamerpics and themes, but dlc shouldn’t be the same price 4 years later.

  • DesertBear360

To bad the program needs to be debugged some more. It fails to properly run.

  • Quicksilver4648

Real interesting way to get the community involved. I know you got sizable amount of publicity over this idea from the many blogs that posted about this.

  • Ark Hunter

So when do we get a twitter app for 360? That would be sweet!
