  • Frayteez

I predict halo 3 is #1 next week since the Mythic Map Pack just came out today.

  • ValeYard13

Go Halo Wars! It’s great online. Love those offers on arcade titles like Alien Hominid!

  • Mcmax3000

Not really any surprises, aside from maybe the fact that UNO Rush is already near the bottom of the list. Wasn’t a big fan myself.

  • ValeYard13

@ Frayteez for sure, there were 48000 people on the mythic playlist tonight!

  • IconicSoulJA

HELLS! YEAH!! FALLOUT 3 RULES SO MUCH! I GOT IT TWICE :)

  • Exu

Top two arcade games, there’s a surprise. Interesting how TMNT has made a resurgence though, and on that note we (still) need 4-player Turtles In Time for 400 so get on the phone to Konami and Ubi!

  • Ollyh

Wow both Uno’s are falling down the list.

  • AriesDog

Saddened by Hasbro Family Game Night making it on the list.

  • rogXue

wow way to smudge the number by COMBINING Family Game Night. what is it like 7 titles? It wouldn’t even be close to the list otherwise..

  • MACPH1ST0

Thanks Major for modifying the Arcade list to show how much the Hasbro Family Game Night games are actually selling!

  • Blue Thunder28

Great. It’ll be interesting to see how well the mythic maps affect Halo 3′s position here… I know I’m definitely back into the game because of them.

  • CoatedTrout

/Cue ‘The king is back! WOO!’ And other such comments from purists.

  • threeleggedcow

I predict that I still will not care! lol

  • Atheist Primate

Newest XBLA game = 1st spot, just as normal. And the Deal of the Week was Alien Hominid for reduced price = 2nd place on XBLA. Just shows how much it matters for the games to be displayed in the Spotlight (or Marketplace) channel. Advertise for almost anything there and it will sell.
“Paperboy” for 320 points! BAM! It takes 3rd =)
Anyways, nice to see that Peggle is still doing well. My favorite XBLA game of 2009 so far. I think that BF 1943 will be one of my all-time XBLA favs, just hoping that it won’t be more than 1600 MS points.

  • Vasilii Zaytsev

How the hell is World at War number one? It’s such a piece of shit!

  • padilla21 Live

    halo 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SENSEI CHRONIC

waw at top.. that is shocking.. lool.. REs5 wow!! go go go..

  • oO MG81 Oo

    @Vasilii Zaytsev
Your opinion clearly isn’t shared by the masses :-P . What’s not to like?, it’s the same as COD4 but with WW2 weapons. Both are amazing games.

Peggle is probably the best Arcade game I’ve ever played. I thought it was maybe just over hyped but I took the chance and bought it (I didn’t try the demo). It’s sooo damn addictive and fun!, rainbows, unicorns and electronic disco beats = WIN!. It definitely deserves the number 1 spot IMO.

  • Shonk

The numbers for hasbro are bs
    firstly its 7 games combined
secondly they are giving the games away
with new consoles in the uk
so thats going to inflate the sales as well

  • Warrengonline

Yeay! The dishwasher! Go-o-o-o-o-o Peggle! Alien Hominid “Shut yo mouth!” Cool as ice! I’m glad more people are being exposed to it and were smart to take up the deal of the week. And Castle Crashers still kick’in but and taking names. Resident Evil 5 still holding strong.

  • MACPH1ST0

@ Shonk: The Hasbro games can’t be counted individually since they’re technically considered to be add-ons and not full games, so that’s why it’s showing as one big mass game. And since only Arcade games individually purchased count for the Arcade list, any ones bundled with hardware wouldn’t apply.
    —————————————
So Major, can we PLEASE get a Top Add-ons Purchased list? Then we could get a more accurate representation of the sales of the Hasbro games, among MANY other things.

  • alex5523

how the hell is that left 4 dead is on the top list and everytime i play the game i cant find anyone playing on advanced or expert and that they are using mics and actually talking.

  • Shonk

    @MACPH1STO sure they will count
they are codes for each game

  • Shonk

also sure they can be counted how do you think they got the number in the first place

they added all the sales together

the only reason they made the list is because ea didnt like it

  • yolarrydabomb

wow gears 2 move up a notch.

  • Lynch182

i agree with the hasbro comments, should not be on that list, and the fact that 7 games conbined still can’t top the arcade chart speaks for itself, im sure if it was 1600 for the whole pack it will go down a storm.

COD WAW is a shocking game (in comparison to cod 4)

i think someone commented before hand saying they would like to see a top 10 purchased list, whether that be weekly or monthly i would love to see how the 1600 xbla games are selling after everyone slates them, pure greed by microsoft, will only lead to one thing in the end.

I’m hoping Ps3 will keep updating their network with private chat and things like that, once that is up and running and if they can keep the online gaming free or relatively low cost then they are onto a winner, because i’ll start spending more time and money on sony products, microsoft don’t want our custom, they don’t want to help people, damn, they can’t even build themselves a console. My ps3 has never froze, never given me the ring of death, never scratched my discs, plus i cant hear it when its turned on, unlike the jet engine of an xbox elite.

  • WaaghMan

Yay, Little Racers on Top 7! That’s the way to go!

  • metallicorphan

LOL,did Hasbro a favour did you MS?

  • Exu

Hasbro is three titles combined, four in the US. The fact that it’s #3 is…really not that good.

  • Shinobi Artist

Here’s hoping WaW gets knocked off it’s high horse!

  • VILIUS169

good to see COD WaW on top.

  • KP ScuzzyBunny

Habsro being number 3, 3 weeks after it’s release, and at it’s price, is actually impressive. Like others have said, it’s NOT 7 games, as the last 3 haven’t been released, and honestly it’s only really Scrabble and Battleship, as Yahtzee and Connect Four don’t seem to be as popular.
I know a lot of people are “voting with their wallets”, but honestly, after shopping around, the game on XBLA is actually the best bargain around. Find Scrabble Diamond edition for less than $10 (oh, and it has variant game modes)…find electronic battleship, or even regular Battleship, for $10 (this one has fun variants also). Even the versions of Yahtzee and Connect Four had interesting twists, and I was shocked to see that the board games at Toys R Us and Wal Mart for even those simple games, cost $15-$20. For whatever reason the price of board games is going up, so even though I was dubious at first, I did buy all four, and plan to get the last three (Sorry sliders, in the store…$25).
And in case you were wondering, the only way to get Scrabble on another system is on PSP and DS, and it is $30 on both.

  • Kanee

Calling foul on the hasbro game night listing as well….

  • MeS FEAR

April 21th the dlc for left 4 dead will be published. Then it will go up and much more people will play it again.Looking forward to the dlc. Go L4D!

  • daveboy UK

Major made an error in is posting for Hasbro Family Game Night.

    It should have read:

** yet another EA rip-off for you consumers

It would only be worth it for Scrabble….as Europe hasn’t got it, it’s become the most expensive pile of dog mess ever on XBLA.

  • Pandapadawan

Chart positions aren’t saying anything at all. When Peggle was released the game went to first place with 75,000 leaderboard entries. Dishwasher took 1st place with about 18,000 leaderboard entries.

  • Beyond Genocide

I’m going to buy CoD:WaW this weekend, looks pretty sick.

  • Static Jak

I wonder if they’ll ever get rid of the original Xbox top 10 and give us a 360 top 20 instead. I’d much prefer it.

  • VILIUS169

yeap xbox 360 top 20 would be nice

  • Makavelo

No Guitar Hero Metallica or Street Fighter 4?

those games are great i don’t know why people don’t play them.

  • MACPH1ST0

The Original Xbox list would best be replaced by a Top 10 Add-ons Purchased list. With the huge amount of DLC available out there now (including the individual Hasbro games), it would be nice to see what’s most popular.

  • Mr Barrel Roll

^ love the idea of top 10 addons. What with the CoD maps, Halo maps, Fallout 3 addons, all the music game downloads… Gah, I can’t buy these point cards fast enough!

  • Zenfar

Colosseum and Solar are worth checking out! Solar is very trippy in a good way.

  • Doh Ray Egon

C’mon on now…Family Game Night should not count as one whole game. Each game should be counted individually since they are separate games. Just because they have to be played in a “hub” type application does not make them all one game. That’s just being deceptive.

  • Indigo0086

    Flock didn’t make it? I wonder why…

  • Azwethinkweiz12

TMNT1989 in the top 10? I’m impress maybe now I can find new people to play with online.

  • MetalGearFloppy

Lmao… Hasbro Family Games Night cheats it way into the chart…
How much of a “back-hander” got paid to get that to happen, or did EA do what they did over the whole debacle of them being allowed their own servers on xbox? Threatened to pack up their toys and go play with those japanese console boys?

@Indigo: This is for the week before Flock.

  • padilla21 Live

hhhhmmmmmmmmm….so why is RESIDENT EVIL 5 all in…
    CAPITAL LETTERS???????????????????????

why not HALO 3?!??!?!?! instead of halo 3?!?!?!?

  • Static Jak

Yeah a Top 10 Add-ons Purchased list would be nice.

  • SteelCity Beast

I would Like to see a new Column…GAME ADD-Ons…Things Like the Mythic Map Pack…Snowblind Map Pack….Versus Mode for RE5…anything that enhances your game…So please bring us a new section

  • SniperDoodle777

I know one thing for sure, Modern Warfare 2 is going to dominate all.

  • Monster Warfare

I hope Call of Duty 4 can get #1 again. But Halo 3 will probably be on top.

  • Searing Wave

Modern Warfare 2 probably will hold #1 for a while, but I doubt it will stay there for more than several months. Still very excited for it though.

If the masses say that World at War is a good game, then I think the masses are idiots. But they can have their opinion, even if I grossly disagree with it.

So many people in the Mythic and Grifball playlists this weekend, it’s insane! Return of the King, and all that good stuff. Halo 3 should be at the top for a long time.

So many games I have to get around to buying and playing. Gotta get to Left 4 Dead before it becomes too difficult to find people to play with.

  • ManicBomber

Are they ever going to fix TMNT so that we get unlimited continues in Live play, so we can just have fun with the game we bought?

  • Type 0 x IV

@ManicBomber: That’d be nice. Sitting there watching a friend play for ten minutes (or longer if they are good at the game) after you die isn’t exactly the high point of the night.

  • AriesDog

My weekly request for a Games for Windows LIVE Top Live Titles list.

  • metallicorphan

maybe if Infinity Wards actualy brought out another map pack COD4 it could get to number 1,i was dissapointed with them announcing MW2 when all most of us want are new maps…and 4 maps(not even that really,3)for COD4 meant that COD4 was the least supported COD from Infinity Wards, seems like they just gave up on it when World at war came out…why?,if its still popular?

  • MR SUPREME69

cod 4 should be on top. modern warfare 2 is going to dominate

  • Sneeches

how about the lazy people at microsoft fix xbox live. I haven’t been able to join any friends games, party chat or even private chat for a few days now. This is uncalled for and needs to be addressed considering we pay 50$ a year for this crap.

  • TheExMascot

I second the post saying that we need more coin op classics. Why have we still not seen some of these titles:

    Simpsons arcade
    Xmen arcade
    TMNT Turtles in Time
    Revolution X
    Terminator 2 Arcade
Killer Instinct (blame Nintendo I guess)
    Aliens
    Robocob
    Crystal Castles
    Mortal Kombat I and II
    Rampage
    Narc
    Crusin’ USA or Daytona USA
    Sunset Riders
    NBA Jam
    Shinobi
    Cheyenne
    Rolling Thunder
    Double Dragon II
    After Burner

Major, can you please tell us any games that are in the pipe or are just a pipe dream? Thanks!

  • DenmonX

I’ll 3rd the wishes for more coin-ops! Those were almost always guaranteed purchases for me day one. Just don’t go making them $10 each now.

  • TheExMascot

DeonmonX I agree with you. I knew which arcade games I was going to buy even before I knew I was going to get a system. All of the games I wanted were coin op classics. All of them were either 5 or 10 bucks. It has been a long time since a 5 dollar coin op arcade game has appeared. PacManCE was 10, RType 15. It’s like the economy is so bad that the game companies are charging more to stay alive but forgetting that the economy makes us less likely to buy 15 dollar versions of arcade games we never spent 15 dollars on in the actual arcade! Turtles has been on the top 10 for along time so it seems to me to be natural that Konami would release the sequel…but no. They only do that for Frogger and Super Contra.

  • Agent Nate 009

I really don’t know why so many whine about CoD:WaW so much, it isn’t that bad. I rather enjoyed playing multiplayer this weekend. I like Modern Warfare just as much. What I really have trouble figuring out is why everyone thinks that Halo is so great. I have played it several times and I have never found a reason to like it. That is just my personal preference and nothing for you to feel offended by. If more are playing CoD than Halo, who cares, it changes from week to week and it tells you that a lot of people like playing WaW multiplayer. Grow up and get over it. Same for those who whine about Gears 2, and Halo being #1. Just go play and have fun!
