    “500 – Server error”

  • Atleticoinomano

Server must be collapsed :| I’m downloading full version and the download speed is sooooo slow.

Great game, great price… GREAT SEGA.

  • BrooksterMax

I loved Outrun from the arcades in the 80s, the Spectrum, Master System versions and the recent original Xbox one.

Now here it is again on 360, can’t wait to see it :)

  • Xebu

Great to see an arcade game back at a sensible price point. Let’s hope this is where future ones will stay.

Still not going to buy it though, I know it’s a classic but it’s just not going to hold up next to Burnout which has had my attention recently. Shame really.

  • zenoplex

    What happened to Japan?

  • emuholic

Great game and great price, happily paid after trying the demo for all of 5 minutes :) Thank you to Sega for pricing this at 800 points, like I said earlier this week it would have been easy for them to charge 1200+ points but they have thought with their heads and not their wallets and charged the right price. The proof is not one complaint about pricing in the announcement comments of Outrun here a few days ago and I expect it will be the same in these comments. I hope Outrun sells loads and stays in the top 10 for a long time, just to stick two fingers up at other developers who think they can earn a quick few £/$ by overcharging for games :)

Downloaded this game about an hour ago but what’s up with the Ninja Blade Premium Theme??? It took my points but keeps coming back with an error 80070570…

Why is Microsoft so quick to take our money for broken downloads. You guys should really test to see if downloading works before putting it up!

  • Ravage NZ

I purchased this as soon as I saw it available! Can’t wait for Banjo Tooie and Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram !

I’d love to see the OutRun 2 levels as DLC, including the Scud Race/Super GT and Daytona bonus tracks from the Xbox release.

  • Anonymous

sweet will grab this with my free points from the rock band / star trex promotio, all 800 of them.

  • Shonk

i forgot how much i suck at this

think i might buy a wheel as the sticks a bit touchy

  • LapsonHK

    Why Hong Kong is excluded……

  • K04 Passat

Instant buy at ten dollars. Added the full version to my download list, last night… Free wireless internet in the hospital (here in La Grange, Kentucky). Awaiting delivery of our first son. Couldn’t sleep last night, with all the nurses coming in and out of the room, so I played around on Xbox.com. Actually, I added WAY too much to the download queue last night. When I stopped, I’d spent 10,000 Microsoft points. Was going to snag Watchmen, next, but 10,000 was enough for one day. Can’t wait to turn on my Xbox 360, when we return home, and see the download list fire up!

Sounds bad to be messing with games, at a time like this, but it got my mind to relax a bit. The time leading up to my wife’s labor has been VERY stressful. Things seem to be looking up, and we should be welcoming young Logan into this world, in the next several hours. Wish us luck, folks!

  • Tone Marley

I bet this turns out to be the best racing game of the year!

  • becs

    When is Banjo Tooie out?

  • A Place for Us

Woo. Here I go from Coast 2 Coast!

  • Anonymous

*A few hours later, the Ninja Blade Premium Theme is still un-downloadable, and Microsoft still has my points that could’ve been used for something else that actually WORKS*

  • kdzBiBa

    K04 Passat
    Good luck m8
but stop spending that much money on MS-Points ;D

  • Sneeches

downloaded the demo, will give it a try and see if i like it.

  • Warrengonline

Has anyone downloaded and played the game yet? My download was a bit slow, had to leave for work, nothing to play. Looking forward to playing it this evening. I hope it is good as I have not played any outrun since my arcade days.

    @K04 Passat
Congratulations man! I know you’re nervous, but don’t you think ‘Little Tiger’ is going to want the Xbox Infinity when he’s 5? Save up now.(smiles) Get your gaming time in with the volume low and turn your patience to Maximum – Parenthood: New Born Male, experience level 5+.

  • Sneeches

    Congrats KO4

  • Exu

Hmm, it’s not as polished as I’d hoped but it’s an acceptable enough port for 800, bit low-res though. C2C is stll better, even with its atrocious “first-load” time.

  • Ahmedz

online is weird. everything from the screen disappeared and the only thing I saw was blue and the car :/

  • Anonymous

Game is seriously glitchy. Going into a new route, right before you make a turn, instead of one, both turn lanes are open, choose the wrong one and you’ll end up off the map and stuck there until you find a way to force yourself back on the road. Me & two other players got caught in it and it was funny for a bit. I wish I could’ve captured it but pulling the AV from my 360 would’ve made it reset itself.

  • dreampage

Already bought, already played, already loved. :-) This is arcade gaming at its best, awesome game still. And for 800 Points it’s a bargain.

  • ideal rep

    I’ll be downloading this for sure…….Congrats KO4

  • Anonymous

    Congrats KO4!!

  • Euphoric Fusion

    Sweat?!?!? Sweet maybe?
Sold, played, loved. Spot on pricing and sales wil be high because of it.

  • wiirule111

I didnt even bother to try the demo. I bought it right away and the DL speed was fast too (Europe).
Menus etc.. is very slick, there is already alot of people playing it online, car GFX and details was better than expected. The pics dont do the game justice because it looks better.

Gotta love Sega for releasing this game at only 800 points. I expected 1200+.

Its not common with so many positive comments about a release here, but Sega have done something right and people like. :)

I would barely pay 400 points for that new 1600 point puzzller. I hope they release that the low sales is because way too high.

->> Not only that, but it costs more than Bioshock, Gears of War 1 etc.. brand new factory sealed!

  • Turtle502

I’ll try the demo and then weigh the cost. Saving points for more FO3 DLC, but might be able to splurge for more points in a couple of weeks. This looks fun, and very once in a while, you just need a fun title to play.

  • Saee

    Healthy Price

  • X Ray Hamburger

Damn I can’t wait to get a working console so I can play this, been looking forward to this game for awhile.

  • Mossiprose

This game = Fun!!! no worries about the setup of your car, just fast paced against the clock racing. A must buy for anyone. 800 points well spent. Recommend anyone who likes a fast and fun game to buy this.. Sega did good releasing this one. looks better than it did in the arcades in the 80s. stop reading this,, BUY IT!

  • Etrian

    Good game!

  • Jonah Falcon

Japan and Asian territories have their own XBLA release schedule.

  • TaygetaVendetta

Amazing game, everyone should at least give the trial a shot.

  • SegaMasterSystm

I played this on a friends 360 an will get this title. This is what I loved about Sega when I was younger (aside from my beloved SMS) They were the King of the Arcade… Golden Axe..Shinobi…Outrun..Enduro Racer..Hang-On..my personal fav of all time Zaxxon. Kudos to Sega for remaining King of XBLA.

  • bknight2k

If you can pick this up for 800pts it just made all the games last week seem overpriced.
    Outrun is great

  • DjFIL

This makes it tough now. I really want this… and 800 MSP is good price. But the Force Feedback Wheel support is non-existent. The wheel works, and it’s nice to change sensitivity… but no force feedback (just slight vibrations) and no way to map the gears to the paddle shifters, that’s not acceptable for any racing game.

  • HH Li

    Good price.

  • WoolyMammoth27

    No trial needed ;)

I know what I’m going to be playing for some time to come… =D

  • Exu

@DJFIL – The gears automatically mapped to my paddles for me, on the default config. No mention of it in the options menu, but they did. My problem with the wheel was that I couldn’t drift with the bloody thing!

So, when do we get more music, the other 15 tracks from OutRun2, night-time beach stages and reversed tracks?

  • xeno3d

    AWESOME!

One of my all time favorite games from the arcade.

  • III CR30N III

,Congrats KO4! Awesome price Ms/Sega. Please release After Burner Climax… ,Submit

  • KP ScuzzyBunny

Loving the game, and just wanted to give a shout out to the p/r department…IT WORKED! Pricing games ridiculously high has made everyone happy to pay 800 pts for a ported, retro, coin-op classic game (that the standard used to price at 400). I can’t believe that the site, usually so full of tight-pocketed whiners, forgot that “retro” titles were almost always 400 points. Oh well, that price point is officially dead for non-Community games.

  • BrooksterMax

Had a go last night, just as good as I expected. The single player alone is superb.

    800 points = sense

    Outrun = great

  • addison84062007

Why not available in Hong Kong???? But Hong Kong Xbox Live Still Have Advertisement before the OutRun Online Arcade release date!!!!When the OutRun Online Arcade released the advertisment was gone~!!!!please tell me why~!!!!We all pay the same money for xbox live but we didn’t have the same services~!!!!

“Hong Kong Xbox Live were full of lies”

  • LapsonHK

Why is Hong Kong left out? Japan is a special market so I understand sometimes its game-release schedule is different from others. But what’s so special about Hong Kong? Did Hong Kong players do something that pissed SEGA off?

  • VEGEMITE 98

@JONAH FALCON, Hong Kong and Japan don’t have there only release schedule for XBLA games,
The reason some games aren’t released in some regions are that

    1) the publishers think that when a game receives a classification rating they think that the rating is global, when it actual fact it isn’t!
    2) games could be owned by different companies and they never asked their permission to publish it there country.
    3) ‘Some games are just unmarkatble’ this was a direct quote from atari about the all there XBLA games for some reason only atari xbla games are only marketable in the US, whilst the rest of the world is unmarketable.

so the reason Hong Kong and japan missed out is one of the above. (number 3 is highly unlikely, I am going with number 2

  • ValeYard13

Played demo, liked it, downloaded it!

  • Warrengonline

Played the trial, love the music it rocks and rocks hard old school. 800 points for this and 500 points to transfer my RockBand songs to my HDD. Hmmm…. Decisions, decisions.

    @T360UK CHIEF
“Sweet!” spelled incorrectly as “Sweat” is some kind of inside joke.

    @VEGEMITE 98
Hmmm, #3 sounds a bit absurd seeing that Space Invaders, Breakout, Warlords and my favorite, Pong has been cloned thousands of times in many countries. Whatever the reason, it kinda bites.

  • Gogs

plays pretty much the same as outrun c2c. still pretty fun to play and it’s a relief all the cars are unlocked already.

  • VEGEMITE 98

@Warrengonline, yeah I know #3 sounds absurd but “These games not marketable” was a direct quote I received from Atari’s promoting section, which I received during there 4 game XBLA release last year.

I initially contacted them as Australia and several other regions never received these games. I also contacted the devlopers of these games – Stainglass games and they were absolutely unaware that there remade games were only released in certain regions, there quote was “it’s a shame not to see all our work be appreciated”

When Australia never receives a game, I will always try to find out why. the majority of the reasons have been classifications issues.

TMNT was a classic as they thought that when they applied for classifcation in the US they thought, it the whole world was included!! pure genius!
Some have forgot to submit it for classification. and it only costs $2500(au) to get pitence really compared to how much is made from these games!
One game was never even submitted to microsoft!
The first two Atari games were unmarketable! which is bizarre as people still downloaded Yaris (i know it was free but still : )

Australia, As far as I know, has never had a licensing issue with a game. they are mainly classification issues as we only have a highrst rating of M 15+ for video games, thats why you see that GTAIV was censored (mind you the GTAIV DLC put the deleted stuff back in!!!).
But there is a huge licensing issue with the video marketplace. you guys should check out the content that is on the Australian marketplace. we have Red N Blue, few episodes of Jace Hall, the guild and that’s it! pitiful.

  • xeno3d

    Afterburner next please!!

  • bknight2k

    Afterburner would be awsome

  • Euphoric Fusion

What about Space Harrier? Anyone remember that? ;-)

  • xeno3d

Space Harrier was awesome too. I think that is on the latest Sonic Genesis Collection though

  • VEGEMITE 98

Major get rid of your twitter section, it’s a ego-centric attention grab and no one cares what you are doing every 15 minutes, get a life!

  • HFC

Absolutely loving this game. Well worth the 800 points and hopefully we’ll be seeing HD ports of Sega RallY Championship and Daytona USA. Please !.
