Why MEXICO? They got so many things to worry about! When will it be avilable in Europe (UK)?

  • KMetalmind

Ha ha ha! Sega┬┤s just pushing every bit they can to sell old titles. Come on! First they release some on XBLA, having many compilations in PS2, GC and Xbox, and many games on Wii Store. Next they release again games on Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection. Then, they want to release more titles again on XBLA (most of them in that Collection!!). And now this… If they wanted to market the title, it should have been released on February.

Funny too how they kept out lock-on technology from Sonic & Knuckles in SUGC, but know they are releasing Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles on XBLA, with that feature (only if you buy both titles, of course). Lame.

  • SinisterArcon

Jesus Fuller give it a rest, we get it, you want the demo in the UK, spamming every announcement isn’t going to get it any faster.

    ^ lol

hahahaha i just rented this wtf its coming from GameFly right now lol

  • XxLightkunxX

If you can’t pay $30 to buy the game which is a collaberation of games itself, or much less download trials of some of these games and figure “Hmm..should I buy?”…why bother putting this demo up?

Also..ain’t this a little LATE, Major? Game(s) have been out on the PS3/Xbox 360 for quite some time. I can’t imagine the demo offering much.

  • Lucky 13 X

Awesome. I was wondering when this was releasing to LIVE.

  • lightsup55

Please do us all a favor Larry and PLEASE tell video game developers/publishers to be A BIT MORE descriptive about the stuff they put up on Xbox Live Marketplace. It is very annoying to see content go up that only says “download the demo”.

Anyway… I’m glad they finally released a demo. Only problem is… I purchased the game some months ago and I still have it.

  • Warrengonline

I was hmmmm… ‘surprised’ to see this demo on the blog when Wolverine was released last night. AWESOME AWESOME demo, although short. God of War in Logan format. I already own Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection and I love it, most of my friends have it in their back pocket now. The ONLY downside is that it does not have online multiplayer. But oh well, small price to pay for some super great old school games. “Piece of Cake” anyone? I’m going to download this demo to see if it does the collection justice. At $30 who would pass over such a deal? And here the link continuing the Sega spam:

  • Secret Fuller

@SinisterArcon It might. Anyway i got a american account so i can download it off there…

  • Secret Fuller

I mean that i got few other account and one of them has American content on it

  • Turtle502

I actually have this game on my wish list, but I can’t understand how they can make a demo out of it…? I’ll download the demo for giggles, but I’m sure to experience the whole thing, you need to buy the disc.

  • Warrengonline

The retail disc has unlockable content, such as full arcade versions of the games, Altered Beast being one of them – I unlocked that first without even trying…. ehh, yeh, okay I did try a little. You can SAVE at ANY POINT in ANY game. No more “Hold up, I’m coming let me get to a save point..” while playing Phantasy Star 1 to 4, INSTA-SAVE! Also unlockable are interviews with the original game creators and programmers – awesome stuff to and fun facts. That alone is a treasure and to hear the differences in the JPN and US versions is quite fun.

I’m surprised that more moms and dads did not pick this up for the kiddies.

  • AFSplat

Burnout Paradise “Cops and Robbers” was released yesterday. I think it deserves a topline post, Major.

  • Anonymous

is the same as the other genesis collection that came out about 2 months ago or different?

  • The Wesker

CollapsedBeef: Uh…….. This is that collection.

For all the other countries wanting this demo in their country, there will probably be one listed as “Demo: Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection” soon.

  • DelRiego

Wow, have the US finally accepted Mexico is part of North America? :O

  • UnarmedGorilla

Ugh… played the demo for 2 minutes… time I’ll never get back. I now recall why I sold my Genesis console for $5 at a garage sale.

  • yolarrydabomb

@KMetalmind they doing this to keep the old spirt of games to your 1080p screen and better controller function.

    unlike PC sega emulators….

  • ToothlessFrog

I love these collections. I bought this one when it first came back way back when…. I wish we could get the Midway Arcade Treasures discs 1, 2, and 3 in one neat package. I still have my original XBox taking up space, since they didn’t make those BC. I would gladly pay $30 to buy them again to finally be able to put my original XBox to rest :-)

  • Atomicow

considering ive already gotten all the achievements on this, i guess i shouldn’t care – but how does this demo work? is it only some of the game time limited? or what?

  • Akilla05

timed versions of Sonic 3, Streets of Rage 3, and I forgot what the other game was

  • SnowPhoenix9999

The third game was Space Harrier, and for those wondering, the time limit on each demo is 3 minutes. A bit short in my opinion.

  • PoorlyStatistic

Another demo set for Region.1 release only.
Seriously are Microsoft doing this to upset UK gamers?
Suddenly feeling very much like a second-class XboX user…

    hmm… Sony’s PS3’s looking mighty fine lately.

Hmmm… I finally played this demo and except for Space Harrier, I would not purchase this game based on this demo. There is not enough “umph” there. Thank God I know my old games and purchased the retail version. The one demo on the demo that was exceptional was space Harrier which actually has to be unlocked on the full retail. 3 Minutes is more than enough time and should have been for most of the games. Also, “Press Y to go to main menu” exits the game far to easily.

I really say if you like old school games, pixels, midi sound tracks and truly hard work – buy this game when you can. I hope MS contacts NEC and get some Turbo Graf-X and Turbo Duo (including Japan Only) releases brought over to the Xbox360.
