    WOOT! FOR VOOT!

  • Sneeches

    wow what a surprise no lode runner….that’s because the game is WAY!!!!! overpriced. I hope the dev’s lose a ton of money and go bankrupt cuz of this.

  • II Chepi II

    ^^ not a nice comment.

  • PacoDG

    I am in complete surprise that the UFC demo gets more love than the Bionic Commando demo (which should of had at least one more level.. . in the daytime).

  • Anonymous

    all they need to do it make dedicated server’s for gears of war 2 no most host shotgun no more lag and the host can’t leave and gears will be #1 again please do it epic

  • n3rfherd3r

    You know whats sweet? Star Wars Battlefront is still being played relatively well on Xbox.

  • Exu

    Well colour me completely ****ing wrong about last week. You might remember I said that due to two 1200 games coming out, I thought VOOT would lose out in sales. I suppose I underestimated the appeal of BIG ROBOTS FIGHTING EACHOTHER BOOM KAPLOWIE GIANT LASERS!

    Been contenplating getting VOOT myself. I mean, I can afford it. I’ll take another look at it once I’m done with Tooie.

    RE: Lode Runner – Lol. Now see if it had stayed at 800…

  • Us3d ta b3

    Hopefully Epic will have learned their lesson for Gears 3. Do a pubic beta and fix your game BEFORE you release it to the public. They are already working on Title Update 4 and the game is still many more updates from even being an enjoyable experience. Really sad considering how good the multiplayer from the first game was.

  • Alphos

    Nice, Lode Runner out of the top ten arcade title. It’s deserved after the price change.

  • KEVLAR x

    Yes gotta laugh at loderunner, can’t even stay in the charts for 2 weeks cos of its price, EXACTLY what happened to the companies last release, R-Type.

  • Twilight Miasma

    @Dustin Kreiger

    *Sweet

    Glad to see VO is #1. Giant fighting mechs ftw!

  • Pandapadawan

    Actually Lode Runner is priced just right for its 200 levels plus level editor and sharing. You’re only mad because it was sold for 800 points during the first couple of hours.

  • Custom Casket

    Gears 2 = garbage.

  • Sneeches

    pandapadawan – Your so wrong dude, that game is a massive flop and horrible. Its a remake of an 80′s game and i dont care how many level’s it has, it shouldn’t have been more than 800 points.

  • KEVLAR x

    pandapadawan, how can it be priced correctly? is it still in the charts because people thing its good value and are still buying it? no…its gone. I’m not mad, I got it for 800 ;>).

  • yolarrydabomb

    I don’t get it.

    What is really wrong with Gears 2? I have no problems what so ever after this last title update.

    you guys just too lazy to update or try it.

  • Code to Joy

    @yolarry We’re too busy playing the superior Call of Duty games, and the kiddies are playing Halo 3.

  • No Fear Man

    @DUSTIN KRIEGER

    You sure do sweat a lot. I hope you’re using good deodorant. I’ve seen you tell us that you *sweat* in several posts now….lol

    @Twilight Miasma

    Yea…I saw you corrected him….but I just had to say it after reading him post it in at least 3 different posts…as well as twice in one of them…lol

  • Mr Barrel Roll

    “Let’s Draw a Picture Together!”

    …WTF?

  • AriesDog

    Comments section petion that Hasbro Family Game Night shouldn’t have combined sales of all Hasbro Family Game Night titles. Sign off.

  • Us3d ta b3

    @yolarrydabomb: Considering you assumed people who think Gears2 is garbage have not tried the new update(which I have), I will assume you were just horrible at the original Gears and now play the noobish Gears 2 and that’s why you enjoy it. Assumptions are awesome!!

    /sarcasm

  • VILIUS169

    cod waw should be on top.I hate Halo3.sorry

  • oO MG81 Oo

    @yolarrydabomb
    That would be the reason you haven’t played it in over a week but have been playing w@w instead? (according to your profile at the time of me posting this). Gears2 is shockingly bad. Compare it to any other popular MP game or the first game and you realise it plays like s#it. So much lag, glitches and unnecessary waiting times etc, it’s just a horrible experience. And yes I’ve tried it since the last TU was released and I was also a massive fan of the first Gears.

  • Anonymous

    @ UFSanity, kiddies ? I’m 29 and play halo, cods but i enjoy halo more, whats the problem ?

  • Alex Atkin UK

    I really don’t get why Family Game Night STILL is combined sales.

    They didn’t combine the SEGA Genesis games together, they don’t combine both Uno games together, its just a pathetic ploy to make it look like those ripoff games are actually doing well.

  • CoatedTrout

    @UFsanity HUR HUR I R SUPEIROR.

    Grow some balls and some tolerance of other people’s preferences.

    But I guess such things are unavoidable on such a volatile topic >.<

  • CARNAGE RULES

    @Alex Atkin UK
    Because the game is Hasbro Family Game Night. The map packs oops I mean the games are add-ons to the game HASBRO FAMILY GAME NIGHT. Do they knock out all games with add-ons? Halo is only #1 now because of an add-on. I guess UFC is #1

  • rastansaga

    @Pandapadawan
    How can Lode Runner be “priced right” if nobody is buying it?

  • a Master Ninja

    Hey Microsoft, give us the option to save “title updates” permanently to our HDD. I play a lot of games and things get messed up when I try to play games offline that have DLC.

  • davidkenobi

    However Lode Runner is really good, addictive and pretty much hardcore! The game worth the top ten…

  • Anonymous

    halo rules

  • Computerdude103

    If they are gonna combine hasbro game night sales, then they should combine all bungie games, as well as all activision games, and all epic games. Heck why even bother with a top ten list, just give us a list of games that were sold. Major Nelson is a joke. He’s a microsoft pawn who either pretends this is his site, or is actually stupid enough to believe it’s his site. It’s microsoft’s site. That’s why everything on here is such a joke.

  • loopingstar

    Funny how a price increase can pretty much destroy games sales – Lode Runner was going to be a must buy for so many folks until they got greedy and upped the price – good to see people vote with their wallets !

  • Type 0 x IV

    Shame that Halo Wars dropped off, but that’s what two demos will do for the top ten list. Why is the UFC demo so popular? I’ve never heard a good word about it, but then it might just be the company I keep.

  • Chux

    Hell Yeah VOOT!

  • The 7raveler

    @Computerdude103
    You do realize he works for Microsoft, right?

  • MACPH1ST0

    It’s sad to see an excellent game like Lode Runner get screwed over by a stupid Microsoft mistake. It’d still be in the top 10 if they hadn’t messed up the pricing for it. I have a feeling that something legally ugly might be coming out of MS screwing Tozai and Southend out of all those sales because of their mistake.

  • Dubbington

    Didn’t expect VO:OT to top Tooie. Nice.

  • XxLightkunxX

    @Computerdude103

    I’m not sure whether to reply and tell you how ignorant and just dumb that entire post was..or just let you sit there and troll yourself.

  • XxLightkunxX

    @MACPH1STO

    You mad that Virtual On and Banjo Tooie were actually more or less a lot more enjoyable than Lode Runner?

  • Solid Warri0r

    Halos doing it big still!!

  • Mcmax3000

    The Hasbro Family Game Night sales are combined because the game itself is free & the board games are sold as DLC. Therefore, since there’s no Top DLC list, it’s the closest you can get to ranking it for sales as an XBLA game.

  • BFBeast666

    They should make a new category for crap like Family Game Night:

    Armed Robbery or maybe Epic Failures, so they can stack their “Deals Of The Week” right in there as well. Why do people put up with this crap?

  • CARNAGE RULES

    @BFBeast666

    Spoken like a true cheap@ss or just plain poor. Complaining about the deal of the week like they owe you something. hahahahaha

  • MACPH1ST0

    @ XxLightkunxX: What does a Microsoft mistake have to do with how enjoyable a game is?

  • XSN1PERO3NSX

    Guys Gears of war 2 was really terrible online when it first came out took for ever to find a match alot of laggy matches crappy ranking system witch i knew was true skill. after the first update it was still crappy second one a little bit better still took awhile to get a match but decent and after this third update it never takes me more than a minute to get into a game. Yes their are some matches with lag switches or host has a bad connection. But it dosent happen very much any more. If all of you would give it another chance and play more than one more game you would see how much more it has improved.

  • MuckRak3r

    I find it fitting that Gears2 was only in the top spot for a couple weeks. I play the game every single day. They fixed alot of the major problems with TU3, but the overall problem exists – LAGGGGGGGG- i guess it’s because it’s the design of the game that makes it so noticeable compared to other games.

    If they don’t do dedicated servers, the game will fall off the charts.

  • oO MG81 Oo

    @mongo8001
    It sounds like you got used to playing a broken game and forgot how proper online MP games should be :-P . The only thing Epic seem to have done with the TUs is cut down the waiting times. The horrible lag, standbying and glitches all remain.

    @CARNAGE RULES
    Just because someone thinks the deal of the week is a complete ripoff (and the majority do) that makes them a “cheap@ss” or “poor”??. Do you work for the Microsoft’s pricing department by any chance?. It sounds like you have the same out of touch attitude they do.

  • GoobTuff

    Nice to see no one cares about Lode Runner. It’s also nice to see that Banjo-Tooie is up near the top. Maybe this will make Rare see that we want another 3D Platformer Banjo and not a racing game.

  • tifosiotaku

    Virtual On at #1, and OutRun still in the top ten… I’m happy as hell that Sega’s getting major love. I’m praying right now that Daytona USA 2 gets ported to XBLA. I’ve been waiting years for that game to come home. It’s my all-time favorite game, period.

  • KP ScuzzyBunny

    Does ANYONE care about the top Xbox games for the past week/ month/ year? The are just about the same 95% of the time…bend to the peer pressure, MN, and replace the last-gen list with a top 10 “game add-on” list. Not only will it give us information we care about, but it will help promote dlc that might have been overlooked. While you are fixing things, any chance someone will finally make one blade for all of a game’s new content, rather than 10 blades for GH or Rock band (one for each song), or even worse, the video marketplace when a new show is added. It’s hard to find “new” things when the “new release” section is 10+ of the same game/ tv show.

  • MACPH1ST0

    @ Killer Scuzzy J: Yes I agree, the old Original Xbox list that almost never changes needs to be replaced with a top 10 Game Add-ons Purchased list. There’s so much premium DLC out there now that it’d be nice to see how it all ranks, and also people wouldn’t be able to complain about Hasbro Family Game Night being clumped together any more!

  • Anonymous

    HALO RULZ =D

  • XSN1PERO3NSX

    @oO MG81 Oo
    Yes I know Gears 2 has really bad lag and the host advantage is annoying sometimes Gears 2 is not the only game i play i still play cod 4 halo 3 and in call of duty i prob get more broken games then gears 2. I respect you opinion but mines different I enjoy gears of war 2 So lets Just leave it at that.

  • Lucky 13 X

    This may have been mentioned before, but I am curious about something.

    Hasbro Family Game Night shows up in my Games Played list even though I have yet to purchase a single title. Is that factored into its place on the Top 10 list at all, or is it’s position only based on someone playing a purchased Family Game Night title? I always play the game for several minutes whenever I want to try the trial version of a newly released add-on for the game. I know the Doritos game and the Totemball games still show on my games played list as they are both FREE full version games.

    However as pointed out before, I expect the position of HFGN is only based on those playing purchased titles in the Hasbro Family Game Night compilation as Major has consistently stated since the beginning.

    And if I may indulge in another opinion. I think the current listing for HFGN is fine because unlike other games like Banjo Kazooie & Banjo Tooie which can possibly have two positions(and therefore more exposure) on the Top 10 XBLA Arcade “popularity contest” list, the popularity of Battleship to Connect Four is unknown because they are both part of a compilation and not their own individual releases on XBLA. Consider this my vote for an additional Add-ons list. However I would rather we just get one more list added to the current ones, and not replace the Original Xbox Top Live Titles. Much love for the old green and black box. :-)

  • Firecrest

    Holy sh-wow. VOOT beat out Banjo. Awesome.

  • XxLightkunxX

    @MACPH1STO
    >What does a Microsoft mistake have to do with how enjoyable a game is?

    Why do you answer my question with another question?

    >It’s sad to see an excellent game like Lode Runner get screwed over by a stupid Microsoft mistake.

    I had figured one of two things:

    1) You were just ticked that nobody cared *in the end, regardless of price* about Lode Runner
    2) You actually thought that the price’s “bait and switch” issue wasn’t going to cause some sores amongst the buyers.

    Oh well. We’ve all been wrong at one point. Personally I don’t see why you’d get upset over it *if you are*, what matters is the games you enjoy, nothing else.

  • Monster Warfare

    Congrats to all on the top. Finally got my Halo 3 working again. :)

  • XxLightkunxX

    It’s great though that with this chart…I’m finally realizing just how many games the 360 has when combined with old backwards compatible titles, Xbox Arcade titles (with remakes and original titles), and actual on-disk game releases.

    Just off the top of my head, I can only think of the game “Extreme G” as something that should eventually appear on Xbox Live Arcade; THAT would be fun. Anyone remember that game from the N64 days?

  • MACPH1ST0

    @ XxLightkunxX: You missed the point entirely. What I was saying was that Lode Runner lost a LOT of sales by people who felt burned by Microsoft’s price screwup, so yeah it did leave a lot of people feeling sore about the game, even though it was Microsoft’s fault. Even people who didn’t care about the 1200 point price and were interested in the game felt turned off by what happened and consequently didn’t end up buying it.

  • Searing Wave

    Halo 3 are fun. Me likes.

    Just bought Left 4 Dead about a week ago. I’m speechless about how good that game is. Those who haven’t tried it yet should do themselves a huge favor and play it as soon as possible!

    I really want to give Call of Duty: World at War another chance, but I can’t bring myself to play it unless it’s for a random nazi zombies match. Maybe I’ll try to get to tenth prestige eventually, but it just isn’t that enjoyable to me.

    Lots of games coming out this year that I’m extremely excited for. Halo: ODST, BioShock 2, Modern Warfare 2, and Assassin’s Creed 2 to name a few. Almost as good a lineup as 2007 right there. If it weren’t for Halo 3, I would say 2009 looks even more exciting than 2007 did. But I digress. At least this year’s games will [hopefully] be better than 2008′s.

  • Scooterific

    Nothing makes me happier than seeing Lode Runner nowhere on this list after the insulting BS they pulled on this game. I WOULD BUY IT FOR $10 MICROSOFT. WAKE UP!

  • NeoVampyre

    Hang on!! Star Wars BattleFront 1 and 2 are both on the list for Original Xbox games! Ever get the feeling either would go down well on the marketplace with online play? Hell, hows about a sequel, it would be the perfect online mulitplayer game! (Or any KOTOR on the O.Marketplace, beg!)

  • Exu

    @Lucky 13 X – Seems to be that every purchase of a game within Hasbro Game Night counts as a sale, as opposed to a download of the app. So yeah, say someone bought three of the titles on the same day then Hasbro would get three sales and, well, you can’t buy any other arcade games three times.
    Now why’s your post in a red box?

  • IIx ZoSo xII

    BC Demo is already out?!?!

  • Keeby Boy

    To the people who want a list of top purchased DLC… I could have swore you could view that on the marketplace.
