Fable II DLC: Win it before you can buy it

    Darn, I would give this a try since I’ve been meaning to play Fable 2 again, but I’d be lucky to even be able to view content details on the Marketplace, let alone download with the way my Live connection is going tonight. I have no idea what’s going on. :(

    Glad to see I’m not the only one with slow guide issues. And as for the codes, I remember typing a code in in within a minute of it being tweeted, I guessed the letter right first time as well and It said code already used, so I don’t even bother any more.

    @Custom Casket I applaud you in your efforts to be heard. Quite sad when apparent issues aren’t acknowledged. You then have to take drastic measures. That’s when people get angry and you get heard.

    You’d think that people at Xbox would be using the same guide and thus would have the same issues but it doesn’t seem that way.

    Yes, the guide does need A LOT of improving. We can’t even have backgrounds on it now and yet it is slower. I was thinking it would be kinda cool to make the guide translucent but I guess that’ll make it even slower. I would suggest working on some better methods of getting to run better in-game.

    There’s nothing worse when the match has just started in Gears of War and I’m still waiting around desperately hoping the guide pops back out.

    So who got the code? After working through ALL those combos, I ended up getting the dreaded “This code has already been used”. :( BTW that was particularly EVIL of you putting in TWO missing characters, Major! Just for future reference, are there any alphanumeric characters that are NOT used in these codes?

    I got batch file made, all I need is the code, no matter how many “?” are, I click on 1 button, and BAM!!! it it trys all letters number that it could be……. I’ve given each slot a number, and I just tell it…. let slot 1 be anything.. boom, code is mine

    major you forgetting you posting it on the web by the time i get to log it in on 100 people are typing it in to bad you cant ask some one to make a bot that random pick emails, like how you do it on your sundays shows
    oh arsenic13 the catch is by ram some parts are on hdd then buff to ram but the catch has to redownload-rebuff the data meaning the work load “thats the phrase i was looking for yesterday” needs to be more simplify on the guide or its going to work to hard & too slow.. its the same issue they showed in the apple expo back in 2000 or 02 not sure, how pc catch buff there ram’s and i think its the same way x360 is doing the guide catch buffing..
    hay major i know but at least when i complain at least i try to help to solve the issue…

    i know its rom but i have habit of calling it ram.

    Oh btw Major, if you’re going to put two missing characters in a code, could you at least tie it to a trivia question like Denny does to make it a little less… agonizing? And MrManiacNF, even with a code generator, it still takes time to try each one individually.

    It’s not a code generator, there’s 25 spots, I enter the ones I have, and one side runs the numbers with letter first to last, then the other, last to first, and the other takes the middle, total of 30 seconds, maybe.

    You can pretty safely assume that if you don’t get to try the code in first 30-60 seconds from it getting posted, it’ll be gone.

    The dashboard guide has been the same since we got NXE,the xbox team has not even said anything about if they are trying to fix the issues

    Litheon or Major even though most the topics get spammed about the dashboard guide wouldn’t it be worth it to us xbox consumers to be kept in the loop?

    All the spam would most likely drop if someone actually address the issue and spoke to the community about them and what xbox is doing about them

    Even if it something like “we have no plans to fixing the dashboard right now”

    Pfft…No point in these codes for me. I have to load up my 360, wait on the slow dashboard, go to redeem code, and by the time I’m there, someone already entered it on their PC because they are ‘of age’ to do so. And I turn 17 in a few more hours!

    I don’t like the age restrictions that Microsoft has set in place for the Xbox LIVE marketplace.

    Love the free codes Major. Would be like to see mroe double or even triple ?s though. As with one it takes a whole .5secs for someone to get the code. Using cut/paste on my PC here and even gussing the correct alphanumbral on the first try can’t seem to win. I don’t gives a more fighting chance for us droogies. :)

    Major, there’s gotta be a more fair way to distribute these codes. I was lucky enough to see your last code twitter when it only said “about a minute ago” and STILL it wasn’t soon enough to have a chance at getting it. So please either make it more difficult to get them or find a different way to distribute them so that more people actually have a real chance at getting one of them.

    I’m fed up with that fable game corrupted save because of the 800 MSP pub game and now with one more unfair competition (I had completed 75% of the game).

    Just want to add my voice to the ever growing number of complaints about the guide freezing issues. I have about 20 seconds of freezing when trying to close the guide after having a quick look at my friends list, recent players or someone’s profile.
    While I’m complaining I’m also sick of having to wait over minute for the marketplace to display a list of downloads. It’s clearly an issue relating to the file size of your profile and its download history, a profile with a small file size and download history will list downloads in a matter of seconds.

    Hey Major here’s an idea: save some of your codes and make random drawings for them in posts on here. You could do it by making a post with a drawing where the entry for it is simply posting a comment to it by a certain deadline. And since all the members here have to be registered now, you won’t have a flood of Anons just trying to get codes. And hey you could end up with some more regulars on here too that way, so it’s a win-win for everyone! :D

    Yeah I was thinking the same thing as MACPH1ST0, I never bother trying to get these codes because I know some sad fanboy’s will be there constantly hitting refresh on their browsers to get the codes before anyone else. Also seeing as these codes went up at about 5:00am UK time it pretty much denies anyone from Europe the chance of getting one.

    A drawing would be MUCH better.
    People that can use the marketplace via browser have the upperhand with Copy & Paste.

    That, or make it so people under 18 can use the marketplace via browser.

    Well the adjusting of age limits for purchases and otherwise isn’t going to change. Can pretty much not worry about that option.

    Anyways the codes are just throw backs and not offical contests. More or less MajorNelson doesn’t have to anything with them if he doesn’t feel like. I would doubt that he or anyone else at Xbox is going to take the time to worry about trivia or other works of such nature. For what is being done now with the codes is minimal in time taken from their own lives and work. Not saying MajorNelson or others couldn’t do trivia, but really I’d figure it would cause more problematic than what it’s worth.

    Just ramping the difficulty as I mentioned (adding more ?s) wouldn’t cause alarm with keeping the winner anon or ending up flame wars. I don’t know… I think some of us are asking for more than what these codes are really. There are some website that have been doing drawings and the like for exactly the same stuff. Ahh well, if MajorNelson or the rest of the crew wishes it they will do it… just wouldn’t fret too much if nothing changes.
