    Yawn, slim pickings this week it seems, mind you, ANOTHER week to save my points, I still have over 6000 pts to spend I mangaged to whore from the Coke promotion, can see me having them for a looonngg time at this rate.

    I was hoping this would be some sort of strategy type game, but it looks like a “death match” style game?.

    Oh yeah, let me be the first to say “FIX THE LAGGY GUIDE” ;p

    Um… wow, those aren’t the comments I were expecting, but okay. Have any of you played the trial yet? I was going to, but after seeing the screen shots it looked like a Battlestar Galactica clone or Wing Commander™ Arena clone. I was going to totally pass, but now I am going to take a look. (Hoping we can sector jump, hyperjump and explore different planets `ala Star Control II.) Much to look forward to.

    danowat. be careful, promotional points run out you know ! I only know because i had 400 just disappear from my account and it took me an hours worth of stress over two phone calls and different operators to get them back ! I know it’s only 400, but it was a matter of principal. Besides, i was told promo points run out, but mine are always credit card purchases so they had no choice but to give me another 400.

    Paramount never should’ve agreed to license this garbage.

    I really liked the movie but this game is crap…watchmen is a better arcade movie game than this. Wtf are they thinking?…do they think we will buy it because of the great movie??? I dont know who created this game but hell take your game back and play it by yourself pls. Will pass too

    Exactly my problems. I’m not a hardcore Star Trek geek by any means, but this game just doesn’t feel like Star Trek, remove the ships and it could be anything. We need something like Starfleet Command back.

    Yep, you guys need to read TOS of promotional points “Unused Promotional Points will expire in xx months/weeks”. IF I could buy (or gift) my friends XBLA games, DLC or any purchasable online content with promotional points I would enter more contests. True free is free, but not all things free is always good.

    As for Star Trek: D•A•C, I’ll pass, but IF I had not have played Geometry Wars, this would be a sure buy as a party game. The game is not that bad and although I do not care for pricing, the 800 price point is a bit for what a gamer OR a fan of Star Trek is getting. I was hoping for HI-RES screenshots of characters, Captain Kirk, Spock, Uhura or even Scotty giving tips or quick one-liners (with REAL voices). That’s the ‘candy’ that would have made it somewhat worth it.b IF another Star Trekkie game is released, let it be kind of like Sealife Sarfari (without the rails) and 10/30 quadrants (you have to decode the ‘clues and hints’ in the short story campaign with 2 bosses) upgrade ship (shields, photon canons, ion canons, etc) heck, even make a customizable ship from scratch Hello Moya! She would be awesome – thought from Farscape not Star Trek. One can dream, right. “Where no man has gone before….”

    @clarky456, that actually sounds really good lol. I’d probably buy that.

    @Danowat32, if it’s the UK Cokezone promo I’m thinking of then I wouldn’t worry about your points mysteriously disappearing. Technically those weren’t free. They had to be purchased, just not with money, at least not directly anyway. Those ones shouldn’t expire and even if they did you should have a minimum of 1 year from the date they were issued. I still have 100s of points on my US account from the Tropicana Twister promo last year. The 48hr trials seem to still work too. Those ones were free and supposedly expire after a year from issue date (I think it mentioned January 09 in the small print). But yeah what I’m getting at is the Cokezone MSP are not technically promo freebies and shouldn’t expire. I wouldn’t panic and go on a mad spending spree. I bagged myself a few of those points myself and I’m not worried about it.

    OH yeah and somebody fix the laggy NXE!!, PLEASE!!!!.

    You know if you moderate the pace and design of this game with a bit of Star Trek Legacy you might have a pretty great space shooter, but as it stands the rediculous speed and simiplistic nature of DAC made it rather unappealing, at least for me.
