The achievements that gave you the odd number in your gamerscore (30061)was from marathon:durandal the two achievements were SEVEN AND BIGGER GUNS NEARBY.You can even out your gamerscore if you go and kill a zombie in zombie wranglers.

major nelson actually mentioned the guides being slow and laggy a couple shows ago and he said the xbox team was fixing.

Peopl need to chill about the Dashboard, the Team is working hard. I would like to see you guys fix it.

Laggy NXE needs acknowledged and addressed.

Geez…when is everyone going to stop flooding every post with “fix the laggy guide”, “still not going to address the laggy guide”, “fix the f****ing guide”….

I wonder how full your harddrives are? Mine was down to 8.5GB (lots of “installed” games) and I cleaned it up and now have about 92.5GB free and the guide is much faster and doesn’t freeze during games and my friends and recently played lists load faster. My arcade games even seem faster.

I think it has to do with how they are indexing on the hard drive but then again I don’t work for the xbox team nor design team but I will tell you one thing I would try looking at your available space.

Otherwise grin and bear it or just stop playing until they release a fix. Spamming every post isn’t going to help, if there is a problem they are aware of it. Trolling every post isn’t going to help.

People will stop going on about it when Microsoft bother their lazy ar$es to fix it or at the very least acknowledge the problem. The lack of customer support on this is a total joke!.

And presuming your fix worked (which it doesn’t for me), what is the point in buying or having a 120gb hard drive if you have to keep it empty??.

I still have to wonder why “Linux” is filtered out as a dirty word though.

And I wonder why people with all achievements for Halo 3 (including the ones for maps that aren’t even released yet) aren’t filtered out automatically. That one should be an insta-kill.

I’d love to sit with Stepto as he works for a day, though. Sounds like he has a very interesting job.

Why is it not possible for us to remove gamerscore from our own profiles? Surely we could remove all save game files and remove achievements. Now most would wonder why you would want to do that but mainly for games you start or try but will never get around to playing. I would rather they not show up as part of my gamerscore if i didnt want them, Instead of just being able to remove 0 Gamerscore games.

I felt the same way about that too. I bought SamshowII and have not gotten one achievement. Why? I hop from game to game, get invited to play another game within minutes of starting the game. It kinda bites, but fun. I bought Star Wars: The Forced Unleashed LAST year a month after release – never stuck it into my system, but let my friends borrow it, I also bought Overlord (for $20) its still unopened. Why? I knew I will pop it in, play to the first save (hopefully turn it off and run back to Crackdown, RE5, BurnOut Paradise or Peggle. Being able to remove the achievements would be nice as I get a little angry at people flaunting me (in fun) “I got more gamerscore than you in Wolverineee..” Ugh! As you can see that feature would really be nice. Althought I could just hide my profile/gamerscore.

MACPH1ST0 read your blog before me, what about gamertags with digits as letters. Playing and open game of UNO and a gamer tag like I H8 N1***RS popped up. I had my cam on and he/she entered the room, but did not say anything and then just left. My previous experience usually resulted in that certain person trying to offend players of the game, including myself. So, what is Stephen Toulouse & Policy Enforcement Police (The PEP) doing about those names since that one got through?

Sorry Major, but I’d toss that BD trilogy of Star Trek … only ST2 is remastered, while the others are craptacular old DVD transfers, and Paramount plans to double-dip once other Trek content is ready for BD (like the movie).

I have a feeling Major is going to New Mombasa, Africa in his “exotic” trip. It was what I thought of instantly when he said he was going on a trip for business.

I’d had slow down issues before NXE and more worse AFTER NXE. I do not browse as much as I used too. Also we used to get a free TV Episode like everything 2 to 3 months. True I have Media Center (Legend of the Seeker), NetFlix, Hulu, but Xbox Live Service seems more ‘filling’ with more than just video game trailers and video rental previews. I can clear out my cache, but then that means re-downloading updated and such that mean slow returns. I wonder why a NXE 2.0 is not in the works to (same NXE only programmed much cleaner and cleaner code, faster, with a drag and drop interface, turn features on and off, and possibly use a ReadyBoost Drive to bump up the RAM etc) be downloaded. No complaints, just thinking outloud. Having at least 500MB should be sufficient, but a ‘failsafe’ set oy memory should be set aside that can never been ‘used’ by the consumer.

I discovered last night that Luxor gives out 16 point achievements. Never paid much attention to achievements being increments of 5 until you mentioned your odd numbered gamerscore, Major.

Another great podcast. I always like it when Stephen Toulouse is on. Thanks for the clarification on the resets and what actually happens to those caught cheating.

Was it just me or did he not mention the name winner of Name the Game segment? He told us the game but not the winner.

Major, I have been listening to every single one of your podcasts, but this week I really have to complain. Your interview with Mike was HORRIBLE. How many times must you say “right” when people are communicating with you? I know that is your word of choice, but christ man, You would say it every two to three words with him. Your podcast is amazing, but I am almost tempted to count how many times you say the word “right” on your podcasts from now on and post them on here. I think you would be surprised to see just how many times you say it.

My judge is this week you easily said it a few hundred times. This is the worst it has ever been and it is similar (at least to me) as finger nails on chalk. Please calm down with the “rights” during your interviews. Please?

I’m glad the beeps are gone, too. It was rather pointless not knowing what Major and Stepto were talking about. Anyway, I do look forward to listening to the podcasts every week or so but I did have a problem with the audio in Major’s interview with the Gastronaut reps. I could barely hear them, so when they spoke I had to turn the volume up and then back down when Major spoke. It got frustrating real quick. (BTW, my Gamerscore is 4999.)
