Is Cellfactor: Pyschokinetic Wars still scheduled for a release today?

I heard on MN’s podcast it has a 3-6-09 release date.

Why do you not release 2 Arcadegames, when there is one which is not available in 10 !!! countries. Are you guys at MS marketing really that stupid? Is it so difficult to think a little bit before you do something. Please forward this MN.

Guess this is they way that MS wants to increase market share in Australia, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore and Taiwan.

The reason this is so limited as far as regions goes is the sensitivity of the Nazi theme. Think about that before whining about MS making bad decisions.

IT was clear, that this wouldn`t go to many regions and that`s exactly my point. MS knew it way before, so why not give us 2 arcades this week. So I’m not whining, I just question this dumb decision.

I am happy MS went for the 400 points price-tag. Anything more would have fueled outrage from numerous Xbox gamers.

Whilst “Wolfenstein 3D” isn’t really what I would consider a great game by todays standards (yes, I know it’s a classic), I think I will buy this regardless due to the reasonable pricing.

Really? I know things have been way off kilter with 800 Points being the new starting point for games, but 400 for Wolfenstein 3D is a bit ridiculous.

I mean, I think that you would barely even need to let the XBox warm up and it has already got way too much processing power for the game. This should be 200 points maximum, and only be released for novelty value.

As cosmick mentioned earlier on Major’s podcast this week there should be another FPS out on the arcade called Cellfactor: Pyschokinetic Wars.
I really do hope this comes out today as intended as it sounds rather interesting.
Lets just hope its a cock-up on MS’ part with the servers and it will be up later today.

I wonder why this isn’t available to Australia and New Zealand? It wouldn’t have anything to do with Nazi themes, TDiddy as Australia has got every version of Wolfenstein ever released on every platform until now.

Canadas marketplace looks like its not uploaded yet.. lol.. I was trying to download it and it said “this item is not in your region i was like what??” and then i saw that the picture wasnt avabile the price and everything was there so that means we can buy it but as of right now i guess its just geting worked my hopes are that there working on puting another game on the marketplace and someone is messing up because of E3 or something.. and it will be fixed by the end of day..

Not bad for 400 points, but considering a vast majority of other countries cannot download it, 2 games might have made sense. Also, the link doesnt work.

I’m from Australia, usually my US account works for these titles, not this one though. MS have sewn this up well. Damn!! I bought US points, purchased arkanoid (not available in oz) ok. No luck with wolfenstein though. Worth a try!

Alright so i didnt tell you whole story.. I am in canada visiting my wife i have a american account normaly i download games though my American account to my xbox from anywere i bring my xbox everywere.. I guess today is the day i cant download a really cool game.. My wife has a canada account i tyred to download the trailer version though her account it works.. i tryed to download a trail version though my own account.. Not working normaly this isnt a problem.. but today seems like its a problem.. normaly i can get information what is between the usa and canada.. but if its restricted to canada only then i have to use my wifes account if its resitricted to american i have to go to american and download it but if its in both regions i dont have a problem.. So whats wrong?? We cant download stuff from one region to the next anymore..???

I know i wont get it, but i’d really like an explaination on this one Major given the very same game was released on iPhone a little while back and had no problem selling in Australia through iTunes. I wouldnt buy it given its open source and free on a variety of platforms but something not right here. I know MS have to cover their butts but it seems to me they’re going overboard again.

Now this is what I’m talking about! I saw this and not only did it instantly bring back some great memories, but 400 points! Yes! They aren’t out to rip us off on this one with their digital download! I’m happy, and hit the button to buy it instantly.
Do you see a pattern here? Higher priced games, I scoff at and do not buy simply due to the outrageous price… lower ones, even if they are questionable I will usually give a chance and in my mind justify myself buying them because they are cheap.
400 and 800 point games should be the standard.

Shonk: The version on US marketplace contains a HD trailer for the new Wolfenstein game. I’m guessing that accounts for the difference in file size.

I don’t see any option for deleting the trailer. I was initially shocked when I saw how big the game was, and it was stupid of Activision to force us to download the trailer along with the game.

I was worried you guys were going to try to charge 800 for this. I’m glad to see I was wrong. Good job on this one.

I got the same message when I clicked on MN’s link for the game, but then I searched for “Wolfenstein” in the search bar at the Marketplace on Xbox.com and voilà, Wolfenstein 3D showed up and I could download the trial or the game.

First off where is cellfactor second why do you German’s complain about a nazi game when you know damn well that your country does not allow anything to mention or feature nazi’s because of world war 2. Heck the world war 2 games you get have to be reskinned and all symbols and historical information must be removed.

I was able to get it downloaded but only after I setup a new account.

The only thing i difference i can see is that my Live ID country was UK, my new one is Ireland.

I am writing, to officially ask why Wolfenstein 3D is not being released in Australia, as all previous version have been available since this game was first created. The failure to release some games, is getting out of hand, and it is left to us gamers, to find out why, and now I ask for your assistance, it getting some of these answers.

I have already contacted Activision, and I await there response, but if you could please share an official response, which many Australians would appreciate.

I can’t believe Cellfactor is an Arcade game, Its pretty much a UT3 clone which ain’t a bad thing, using the Unreal Engine 3, it looks graphically awesome.

It’s interesting that I was keeping track of the 1 vs 100 beta when it released in Canada and saw the whining there. Unbelievable. I’m just content with the knowledge that people will whine about anything really. Most of it is just incessant, needless bickering but some of it does have merit. SOME of it.

I am glad I tried to download the demo before paying anything, because I’ve been hearing a lot of people trying to get the full game only to have the amount removed from their account and the game not getting downloaded.

What? Really? I’ve never heard of that happening. I downloaded this without trialing it, and no problem.

Great game, faithful recreation of the original PC version. The music is at the correct 386 PC speed of the time

The price point of 400MSP is spot on too, well done all.

Although this game was revolution at its time, it’s just lame now and seriously not worth revisiting when there is so many other games more worthy of gaming time. I won’t be downloading, even if it was free.

For Everyone else I have no intentions of chasing up to why your country didn’t get it. that can be left up to you, or you could wait for Major Nelson to tell you why not! He is very good a reponding to questions like this!

I’ve been waiting forever for this, now I can’t have it. Our classification office allows games like this, even given the fact that it does has nazi content. This is not on, I can walk into any old games store and buy the PC version LEGALLY. Can you at least give a valid reason why you had to spoil my day?
