    Awesome. i dont mind paying 1200 as long as the matchmaking works well straight off the bat . Capcom fightin games have had some dodgey matchmaking on release

  • Anonymous

    skipping on this. sold my Ryu Fightpad

  • Gakhar

    kinda off topic but what happened to this weeks podcast? or last week i guess.

  • N3WB13 R0N

    anyone know if you can unlock customes in this one or are they unlocked already? i hurd all the characters are unlocked already but i know in the game the version for Xbox and PS2 all your customes and characters you needed to unlock on your own.

  • DeathConvoy

    Monkey Island, remade with hand-drawn art and voice acting at 800… Even another example from Capcom – SSF2THDR, completely redrawn graphics, and worth every one of those 1200 points (IMO).

    MvC2 is not with HD graphics as mentioned above, it has a scaler to help smooth it out, and has all characters unlocked already leaving nothing for the single player to do. 1200 points for an emulated version with minor changes is a bit rude when compared to the time and effort put into other games at this price point.

  • GothOmega

    @DeathConvoy
    Totally agree with you.

    Too much for a 10y old game without great improvements. I better wait for MvC3…

    “Da-da-da-daaaaaaaaaaaa!! Marvel-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l versus Capcom-m-m-m-m-m-m-m with ONLINE multiplayer is almost here. The year was 1997 and the Street Fighter Universe was hit with a ‘Deathstar’ explosion of SF3:NG and then SF:2ndG and last SF3:TS which all had awesome animation that baffled quite a few street fighters including myself – and the dying arcades. We had the prelude of Children of the Atom (super late on PS1) and XMen vs Street Fighter >>Fastfroward>>> Finally 2009 an update (that should have been Official Retail Game on CD in my book) one of the best ‘glamorous’ fighting games to date (outside of Killer Instinct) has been upgraded with with multiplayer online ability for only $15. Hopefully this will pluck the string of the fighting game era, (before EVO, before ‘official competitions’) and bring the 2D excitement, thrill and fun back to the street level for more than ‘underground parties’. The ONLY complaint that SHOULD be made about this game is the 2 Player Only Lobby, KOF XII has an 8 Player Lobby to allow our friends to watch our fights to have conversation and entertainment. Dead or Alive 4′s (Xbox360 version) Lobby SHOULD be standard in ALL fighting games.

    @SumHydroponic
    I totally agree about the d-Pad on the Standard Xbox360 controller, but SFIV (although the game is very broken with some fighters) the control is MUCH better than SFIIHF and SSFIITHDR. I just purchased KOF XVII (it was released early?) and the response of the D-Pad is great (I’m not a KOF fan) but the play and animation of this game is so SFA – try it. We love it!

    @ Complainers
    Raise your voice AFTER the game is released IF it has super lag like the precious server issue of Battlefield 1943, but I think Backbone has enough experience from their previous releases to have that under control. And . . . “Thank you for playing!”

  • RammsteinGunner

    God all the fighting games are the same. Why would you want to get another? Especially priced at 1200 point? I think not. I just wait for South Park Tower Defense.

  • XxLightkunxX

    1200 is more than acceptable for a game that goes up to $200 on Ebay at certain times JUST to get it with its case and in “brand new” quality. This version with minimal enhancements, online play, achievements, and all the hectic action I remember form the old days, all for $15? Yeah, I’ll pay for that. Can’t wait, Major! :D

  • XxLightkunxX

    @ComputerDude103

    …I’m sorry, what?

    We’re talking about a game here, not the new dashboard update. Quit whining over nothing.

  • XxLightkunxX

    @RammsteinGunner

    >All the fighting games are the same.

    You don’t deserve to be a gamer if you’re saying that. May as well kill yourself.

  • GoobTuff

    People are whining over the $15 price? Seriously? The game is $60-$100 used for any of the systems. This is a great deal especially since they have added online multiplayer.

  • Warrengonline

    @RammsteinGunner
    I said the same about FPS like Doom, Hexen, Quake and Halo – but are they? Think before you answer. Just like FPS are all about the snipe and headshot, fighting games are all about the fight and skill.

  • Warrengonline

    @XYullX
    “Photon-n-n-n-n-n Canon-n-n-n-n-n!” + “Picka Card!” :)

  • DeathConvoy

    Symphony of the Night is still at a ridiculous price on eBay, and there will always people willing to pay such a high price for the original game – look at Star Wars figures ;)

    If that is the basis of the pricing of a 10 year old game, what its worth on eBay, then games like SSF2THDR, Braid, Monkey Island that have had a lot more work put into their XBLA release should be sold at retail pricing… I just don’t think its fair on those developers that put the effort in, when they could just copy & paste something thats 10 years old.

    I’d love to see MvC2 have the SSF2THDR treatment rather than just a filter… oh, and bring back the character unlocks for us single players :(

  • RuairiAU

    It looks pants.

  • Anonymous

    bring on the pain !!!

    Instant buy.

  • Warrengonline

    @Big Guino
    Oh you want some more? SFIV wasn’t enough? Okay. I’ll be playing from 8 a.m. until about 12 noon EST message me and let’s rock.

  • Anonymous

    @Warrengonline, have to agree with you there m8 !!

    whats KOF like ?

  • Anonymous

    @warreng, are man, ur going to kick my arse again lol.

    I won’t be on till at least 7pm uk time.

  • WinterSnowblind

    @NinjaJesus13: I don’t see anyone whining about this one. I simply pointed out the irony that people have been complaining about the prices of most games that are 1200 points for a long time now, despite the fact all those smaller indie games have become far bigger and more complex with the removal of the file size limitations. Yet as soon as something like this is released, which is little more than a port, people are eating it up. If you think the price is fair, go ahead and buy it, but when we just got games like Splosion Man and a totally remastered Monkey Island for 800 points, it seems a little silly, as those are two that could have easily justified the 1200 point tag.

  • Anonymous

    splosion man is trash though.

  • KazamaSogetsu

    Not looking forward getting online just to find nothing but Magneto/Sentinel/Storm teams, but I’m getting it anyway. I love crossovers, even those with jazz soundtracks *cough*.

    And I agree about the price. How is a ROM bundled with an emulator worth more than Monkey Island’s remake?

  • SHUTEN DOJI

    can’t wait for this

  • Lanmanna

    @RammsteinGunner
    That’s so dumb to say. I could say the same for racing, shooters, platformers, music, etc. Judging by the games on your Gamertag, would I rather play Marvel vs Capcom 2 or Rocky and Bullwinkle? Hmmm.

    Ugh, I swear, Xbox is plagued by people who only play music, shooter, and sport games. I have noticed they are usually the ones who complain about other types of games.

    @WinterSnowblind
    Maybe people are excited for this “ROM”, because of how hard the game is to get for a reasonable price? Sure, I could understand if the game was 20 bucks for the other systems, then I would think 15 bucks would be crazy to pay. The only way you could play this would be to: fork out 70 dollars, play it illegally on your PC(which is wrong), find an arcade that has it(which would be dumb), or get it for 15 bucks. Which sounds like the most reasonable thing to do? Plus, with added online(if it is good), it will allow friends to fight across the world. I don’t see how 15 bucks is going to do that much more damage than 10 dollars would do.

  • Big Scooby 82

    ITS UP NOW… just an fyi to those who stayed up for it… Gonna check out the demo first.. I might wanna save my points for TMNT or one of the others coming out in the next 4 weeks… ( I only have 1200 ms points left) Should i burn 800 of them on Splosion man?
