  • metallicorphan

    looks cool

    just out of interest,is there a Marvel Vs DC game? :p

  • Mugger X

    Might try this one.

  • KaDix

    MVsC2 and the GOW2 pack…ummm, I have to choose one :S

  • WinterSnowblind

    Great for those who are interested I guess, and while I’m one who’s been defending the current price trends, this one is totally unjustifiable, it’s a port of an old fighting game with minimal improvements. Should not be 1200 points, it’s that price purely because people will buy it.

  • PAT2K9

    That is great news.

  • Ahmedz

    ITS MAHVEL BAYBEE!!!!!

  • DNAgent

    Did they actually work it on or just try to smooth over the graphics? If it’s still a broken fighter like it was when it released then I won’t buy it.

  • rogXue

    crap totally forgot about the $20 for the GOW2 pack… This was going to be one $15 purchase I was willing to make…

  • BLACKVILLIANZ

    why are all u guys complaining its 1200 points= to $15 compaired to 60-100 bucks for the game on original xbox or ps2 come on guys this is way too cheap to pass up.

  • Supreme Entity

    This game will be instantly bought… Been waiting for this for years. My beloved Dreamcast copy (along with Dreamcast) was stolen so I’ve been dying to play this, yet I wasn’t going to pay $50 and up for a used Xbox copy. Finally going to re-live the memories.

  • radiopillows

    Worth every single moonbuck. Very excited about this release.

  • Rdeal

    1200 points is far too much

  • Frayteez

    This game used to sell on eBay for well over $70. $15 is a steal. We are lucky marvel made it that price and re released It with HD graphics! I really wish there was dlc for new characters but oh well.

  • tootupontheroof

    can’t wait man.

  • QFC

    Can’t wait. This game is the only reason I still have my original XBox.

  • Shadow0810

    @WinterSnowblind

    Actually I see this one way more than I see most, (PQ: Galactrix), because if you want a used PS2 copy, Gamestop sells it for $70. Plus it now has online multiplayer? Definitely worth $15.

  • Archangel3371

    Awesome! I totally loved this game and always wanted to get a copy, now I’ll have no problem getting it now. I also can’t wait for the GoW2 pack either.

  • Ramstein

    Too much? I think $20 for anything GoW is too much. That series is horrid. I will be buying this because I have a few friends who loved this game and wish to play it without having to resort to an emulator. Not to mention Achievements+Online play. Yeah, sure Microsoft is compounding their reputation as doosh-bags with their new XBLA pricing standard, but if they keep offering services or products that are a sure-bet, there are people that will gladly pay for it. If they sold GoldenEye64 as a $60 retail boxed “XBLA” game, I would sadly, gladly, still buy it. And the sad truth is that I’m not the only one who would.

  • Archangel3371

    Awesome! I totally loved this game and always wanted to get a copy, now I’ll have no problem getting it now. I also can’t wait for the GoW2 pack either.

  • xTheTruth72x

    No thanks! Still have my Xbox disc. BTW: Everything/everyone already unlocked = BOO!

  • Wiizpig

    1.200… care to explain why?
    Other AAA games-remakes like Monkey Island were 800 -_-

  • Louie

    @Wiizpig

    Capcom.

  • Ramstein

    Monkey Island is 1200 actually. The trial was not enough to justify a purchase though.

    These prices have been known for months, by the way. Don’t see why its such a surprise to anyone.

  • MADEIRA STEVE88

    MVC2 will sure be the title that sales the most this summer of arcade. People complaining about 1,200 for this, why? you do relise your getting the dreamcast code which is the best version of the game and online play for just 15 bucks or £10. Would you rather pay £100 for a ps2, dreamcast or xbox copy?

  • Archangel3371

    Monkey Island was only 800 points. MvsC2 should probably be 800 as well but 1200 is ok with me any higher then I might have a problem with that. Still it’s such an awesome game.

  • Anonymous

    Can’t wait, buying it for sure!

  • Big Poppa Ryan

    Hi major, could you tell us when we get the emails for the dashboard update? please.

  • skyfire420

    this game is worth 1200 points but i might just pass this time around. getting tired of fighting games.

  • FlagshipFighter

    For the sake to reminise I think the 1200 msp should be worth, what with all the online, advanced gameplay, character roster and other neat HD additions. Besides, I have every other street fighter related game on XBLA and retail for Xbox 360, why not this lol!

    But yeah from all my purchases (as of recent) monkey island was the most worth it!

  • krisxx

    1200 is well worth it for MvC2. Start complaining about the $60 games, now those are a rip-off!

  • Firecrest

    Beats paying $70 for the physical disc, right guys?

    Good thing I have this on my Dreamcast as well. I’LL SEE YOU ONLINE WITH MY MANGO SENTINELS.

  • Sneeches

    Pass – I’m not very good at fighting games.

  • Drunk Ste

    I’m in no rush to pick this up as I still have the Dreamcast version and I was never a big fan of the Vs games anyway. Sure they can be fun but they put too much emphasis on filling the screen with characters and super moves for my liking, I still prefer Marvel Super Heroes as it’s a more traditional 1 on 1 fighting game.

    Also 1200 points seems a little too high for what is pretty much a straight Dreamcast port. A number of Dreamcast ports are already on XBLA for 800 points but Virtual On and Marvel Vs Capcom 2 have set a new 1200 point standard, I’d ask why but I already know the answer. http://kotaku.com/359668/microsoft-cuts-indie-royalties-in-half

  • Quaranj

    I have been sitting on 1200 points for 2 months in anticipation of this. I have always been a supporter of Capcom, and had every fighter they made for the PS1 and PS2 (Before I ditched the PS2 in favor of my 1st gen XBOX.) This is a no-brainer, it will be mine. 1200 points is cheap compared to the cost of the 2nd hand ones floating around. I just hope the achievements/difficulty hasn’t been set to ridiculous like the other arcade fighters. I can own an arcade machine no matter how many kiddies place their quarter, but it doesn’t apply to the arcade versions so-far. Hopefully this is different…. either way, it’ll be fun to unlock the characters again.

  • LawdaddyCO

    What’s in major’s hand (avatar) in his gamerpic?

  • DelRiego

    crap! I have to get some points, fast

  • WinterSnowblind

    @LawdaddyCO
    It’s the cotton bud Monkey Head key from Monkey Island!
    You shouldn’t be allowed to play games for not knowing that :P

  • Drunk Ste

    @Quaranj
    My condolences on having to play cut down Capcom fighting games on the RAM starved PS1.
    The XBLA port of Marvel Vs Capcom 2 has all the characters unlocked from the start, it takes away a big chunk of the games appeal if you ask me.

  • xTheTruth72x

    @Drunk Ste
    Agreed.

  • AnEternalEnigma

    I normally don’t endorse the $15 price point, but for this game, it is a steal. The Xbox/PS2 versions go as high as $100 on eBay. Considering this version has enhanced graphics, fixed exploits, and online play, it’s a steal at $15.

    And I can’t believe there are people actually complaining about all the characters being unlocked at the start. Are all of you seriously gluttons for punishment? Unlocking characters in a fighting game was nothing more than a gimmick to get people to pump more quarters in an arcade machine. Nothing more. Those days are gone.

  • SumHydroponic

    If the 360 controller worked better for fighting games this would be an instant buy for me, but I can’t stand playing fighters with that crappy D-Pad, so no buy for me. Great game though and worth 1200 points. Quick question Major, does the fact that you still have open spots for the Preview Program mean that everyone who has signed up so far will be in the Preview Program?

  • GoobTuff

    Already bought points for this game. Can’t wait for Wednesday.

  • I Cristiano 9 I

    we will have a update of preview program till 3pm PT/ 5pm CT nothing for now i think im going to play some games till 5 and check if there’s and update..
    Cheers

  • NinjaJesus13

    I find it hilarious that people are whining about spending 15$ on an 70-100$ game that has added online multiplayer as well as slightly updated graphics…it really is true that people will find a reason to complain about anything.

    You girls need to get jobs.

  • I Cristiano 9 I

    =/ till tomorrow afternoon guys good luck to everyone in the preview program

  • Spacezombie76

    Yes! It’s about time. I am so glad I don’t have to grind to re-unlock the characters.

  • EnVy MoNtOyA

    nice , cant wait =]

  • PriusGuy2004

    I’ve already got this one for my old Sega Dreamcast..so not gonna purchase.

  • Computerdude103

    You people are seriously this excited about this update? It adds basically nothing and slows down your Xbox more than before. I want to wait as long as possible before I get it…

  • XYullX

    YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH LETS KICK ASSS WITH CABLE!!!!!!! xD SEE U GUYS ONLINE! 1200 IS VERY CHEAP FOR THIS BABY!

  • Mongey Mongrel

    Awesome. i dont mind paying 1200 as long as the matchmaking works well straight off the bat . Capcom fightin games have had some dodgey matchmaking on release

  • Anonymous

    skipping on this. sold my Ryu Fightpad

  • Gakhar

    kinda off topic but what happened to this weeks podcast? or last week i guess.

  • N3WB13 R0N

    anyone know if you can unlock customes in this one or are they unlocked already? i hurd all the characters are unlocked already but i know in the game the version for Xbox and PS2 all your customes and characters you needed to unlock on your own.

  • DeathConvoy

    Monkey Island, remade with hand-drawn art and voice acting at 800… Even another example from Capcom – SSF2THDR, completely redrawn graphics, and worth every one of those 1200 points (IMO).

    MvC2 is not with HD graphics as mentioned above, it has a scaler to help smooth it out, and has all characters unlocked already leaving nothing for the single player to do. 1200 points for an emulated version with minor changes is a bit rude when compared to the time and effort put into other games at this price point.

  • GothOmega

    @DeathConvoy
    Totally agree with you.

    Too much for a 10y old game without great improvements. I better wait for MvC3…

  • Warrengonline

    “Da-da-da-daaaaaaaaaaaa!! Marvel-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l versus Capcom-m-m-m-m-m-m-m with ONLINE multiplayer is almost here. The year was 1997 and the Street Fighter Universe was hit with a ‘Deathstar’ explosion of SF3:NG and then SF:2ndG and last SF3:TS which all had awesome animation that baffled quite a few street fighters including myself – and the dying arcades. We had the prelude of Children of the Atom (super late on PS1) and XMen vs Street Fighter >>Fastfroward>>> Finally 2009 an update (that should have been Official Retail Game on CD in my book) one of the best ‘glamorous’ fighting games to date (outside of Killer Instinct) has been upgraded with with multiplayer online ability for only $15. Hopefully this will pluck the string of the fighting game era, (before EVO, before ‘official competitions’) and bring the 2D excitement, thrill and fun back to the street level for more than ‘underground parties’. The ONLY complaint that SHOULD be made about this game is the 2 Player Only Lobby, KOF XII has an 8 Player Lobby to allow our friends to watch our fights to have conversation and entertainment. Dead or Alive 4′s (Xbox360 version) Lobby SHOULD be standard in ALL fighting games.

    @SumHydroponic
    I totally agree about the d-Pad on the Standard Xbox360 controller, but SFIV (although the game is very broken with some fighters) the control is MUCH better than SFIIHF and SSFIITHDR. I just purchased KOF XVII (it was released early?) and the response of the D-Pad is great (I’m not a KOF fan) but the play and animation of this game is so SFA – try it. We love it!

    @ Complainers
    Raise your voice AFTER the game is released IF it has super lag like the precious server issue of Battlefield 1943, but I think Backbone has enough experience from their previous releases to have that under control. And . . . “Thank you for playing!”

  • RammsteinGunner

    God all the fighting games are the same. Why would you want to get another? Especially priced at 1200 point? I think not. I just wait for South Park Tower Defense.

  • XxLightkunxX

    1200 is more than acceptable for a game that goes up to $200 on Ebay at certain times JUST to get it with its case and in “brand new” quality. This version with minimal enhancements, online play, achievements, and all the hectic action I remember form the old days, all for $15? Yeah, I’ll pay for that. Can’t wait, Major! :D

  • XxLightkunxX

    @ComputerDude103

    …I’m sorry, what?

    We’re talking about a game here, not the new dashboard update. Quit whining over nothing.

  • XxLightkunxX

    @RammsteinGunner

    >All the fighting games are the same.

    You don’t deserve to be a gamer if you’re saying that. May as well kill yourself.

  • GoobTuff

    People are whining over the $15 price? Seriously? The game is $60-$100 used for any of the systems. This is a great deal especially since they have added online multiplayer.

  • Warrengonline

    @RammsteinGunner
    I said the same about FPS like Doom, Hexen, Quake and Halo – but are they? Think before you answer. Just like FPS are all about the snipe and headshot, fighting games are all about the fight and skill.

  • Warrengonline

    @XYullX
    “Photon-n-n-n-n-n Canon-n-n-n-n-n!” + “Picka Card!” :)

  • DeathConvoy

    Symphony of the Night is still at a ridiculous price on eBay, and there will always people willing to pay such a high price for the original game – look at Star Wars figures ;)

    If that is the basis of the pricing of a 10 year old game, what its worth on eBay, then games like SSF2THDR, Braid, Monkey Island that have had a lot more work put into their XBLA release should be sold at retail pricing… I just don’t think its fair on those developers that put the effort in, when they could just copy & paste something thats 10 years old.

    I’d love to see MvC2 have the SSF2THDR treatment rather than just a filter… oh, and bring back the character unlocks for us single players :(

  • RuairiAU

    It looks pants.

  • Anonymous

    bring on the pain !!!

    Instant buy.

  • Warrengonline

    @Big Guino
    Oh you want some more? SFIV wasn’t enough? Okay. I’ll be playing from 8 a.m. until about 12 noon EST message me and let’s rock.

  • Anonymous

    @Warrengonline, have to agree with you there m8 !!

    whats KOF like ?

  • Anonymous

    @warreng, are man, ur going to kick my arse again lol.

    I won’t be on till at least 7pm uk time.

  • WinterSnowblind

    @NinjaJesus13: I don’t see anyone whining about this one. I simply pointed out the irony that people have been complaining about the prices of most games that are 1200 points for a long time now, despite the fact all those smaller indie games have become far bigger and more complex with the removal of the file size limitations. Yet as soon as something like this is released, which is little more than a port, people are eating it up. If you think the price is fair, go ahead and buy it, but when we just got games like Splosion Man and a totally remastered Monkey Island for 800 points, it seems a little silly, as those are two that could have easily justified the 1200 point tag.

  • Anonymous

    splosion man is trash though.

  • KazamaSogetsu

    Not looking forward getting online just to find nothing but Magneto/Sentinel/Storm teams, but I’m getting it anyway. I love crossovers, even those with jazz soundtracks *cough*.

    And I agree about the price. How is a ROM bundled with an emulator worth more than Monkey Island’s remake?

  • SHUTEN DOJI

    can’t wait for this

  • Lanmanna

    @RammsteinGunner
    That’s so dumb to say. I could say the same for racing, shooters, platformers, music, etc. Judging by the games on your Gamertag, would I rather play Marvel vs Capcom 2 or Rocky and Bullwinkle? Hmmm.

    Ugh, I swear, Xbox is plagued by people who only play music, shooter, and sport games. I have noticed they are usually the ones who complain about other types of games.

    @WinterSnowblind
    Maybe people are excited for this “ROM”, because of how hard the game is to get for a reasonable price? Sure, I could understand if the game was 20 bucks for the other systems, then I would think 15 bucks would be crazy to pay. The only way you could play this would be to: fork out 70 dollars, play it illegally on your PC(which is wrong), find an arcade that has it(which would be dumb), or get it for 15 bucks. Which sounds like the most reasonable thing to do? Plus, with added online(if it is good), it will allow friends to fight across the world. I don’t see how 15 bucks is going to do that much more damage than 10 dollars would do.

  • Big Scooby 82

    ITS UP NOW… just an fyi to those who stayed up for it… Gonna check out the demo first.. I might wanna save my points for TMNT or one of the others coming out in the next 4 weeks… ( I only have 1200 ms points left) Should i burn 800 of them on Splosion man?
