Game Add-on, Marketplace By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson

  • DeathG0D

The dark corners maps are great!

  • Thief000

Hi Major! I want to download the All Fronts Collection, but it gives me a weird Prepaid Code screen and cannot continue. :(

  • PiNkEyE69

Looks like xbox.com is down :(
    Can’t log in to download.
Definatly getting the all fronts pack.
Now this is good value for money DLC

  • votemarvel

Just throws up an error every time I try and download the All Fronts collection.

Since I don’t have any of the other DLC, All Fronts is the one I want, but it seems is if I want to play the new maps with my friends today I’m going to have to grab the Dark Corners collection.

Side note; I can’t login to the Xbox forums either. My one day off of the week and I’m getting blocked from some Xbox 360 enjoyment =(

  • MeS FEAR

oh man i want it too :( i am 25 years old and cant get what i want in germany…just because of shit politics

  • DubbeL FriSSS

Gears of War is good, Chainsaw :)
But the invite all your friends option was bad, allway’s manny invites while your playing something else or watching a maovie

  • Leksman

    Yep, xbox.com is down :(

  • Thief000

Got it on the Xbox 360 Marketplace. That works fine!

  • tozOL

    . com is down UK

  • DubbeL FriSSS

maybee they readying it for something ??

  • Big Poppa Ryan

cool, gotta download the 1600 point one as i never bothered downloading the previous ones

  • MuckRak3r

xbox.com/marketplace is trashed again – able to download dark corners using the X button with Gears 2 loaded on the 360.

  • PiNkEyE69

Xbox.com is back but All Fronts is asking for a prepaid 5×5 code when i click on download.

  • votemarvel

All seems to be working now and All Fronts is downloading. Sorry to all who had to listen to my moaning, patience is not one of my virtues.

  • Tyger Cheex

So… let me get this straight: If I already bought the Snowblind & Combustible map-packs for a combined price of 1600 points, I now have to spend another 1200 points to get the extra 90 min chapter AND 7 more maps (total price = 2800), but if I chose not to support the further development of the game by buying the DLC early I could have the whole lot for 1600 points? Talk about punishing the fans!?! I love the Gears franchise and I have had some fantastic games online with both friends and random people but this will seriously make me think twice before purchasing additional content for games in the future. The people who didn’t get the map packs before now are effectively getting 7 maps and an additional chapter for 400 points! This is a huge disappointment for me. :-(

  • bigbear1981

I cant seem to find the addon on the marketplace and i live in the netherlands.
Anyone know when it will be available overhere?

  • K04 Passat

Tyger Cheex speaks the truth, I feel the exact same way. I barely even played Gears 2 online, mostly bought the map packs to support the developers…

I can’t wrap my head around it. Maybe the premium price is thought to be for the “get it early” people. I won’t be one of them, in the future. Not intending to download this map pack, unless it’s overwhelmingly being played by my friends. Which, this game never has been.

  • WinterSnowblind

I’m guessing their doing something to Xbox Live for the dashboard preview, which starts in a few hours. I’m sure it’ll all be fixed soon.

  • PiNkEyE69

all seems working now, queued up all fronts ready for someone at home to turn my 360 on.
    Wife out this evening… check
Gears 2 installed to HDD… check
    Earforce X1′s pluged in… check
    All fronts downloaded… in progress.

  • Sneeches

hmm the online multiplayer for this game is so broken, I dont think i’ll bother with these maps.

  • bigbear1981

    Problem sorted!
    Downloading now :-)

  • Joergen8

    Glitches.. check
    Lag.. check
    Bridging.. check
    Bugs.. check
    Expensive DLC.. check
    More expensive DCL.. check

I really, truly do not want and have no intention of getting shafted by Epic over and over again with this game. This was sold to us as a lemon. Epic owe us an apology and should be begging us to stay with their sinking glitchfest of a boat.

I played Gears1 MP for two years straight several nights a week, havent touched Gears 2 without utter disgust since the day it came out. Because ITS BROKEN! A year later it will still be broken. Epic hasnt EVER released a finalized game or properly patched a game during its lifetime for the 360. Gears 3 will be no different and should be a budget buy at most.

If you people keep dancing to their tune, you can expect Gears 3 to be 1/3 of a broken game, the rest kindly offered as a premium DLC, while still broken.

  • Sneeches

    ok, i gave in..lol 7 new maps and a single player for 1200 pts…yeah i gave in :( God im a sucker :(

  • sepulturas666

Yeah Gears 2 multiplayer is so broken. But today i will buy All fronts pack for the awesome Horde mode. :)

  • Destrin

It’s a shame there is no ‘I don’t own the MP maps and I really don’t want them either’ option. I’d pay for “Road to Ruin” on it’s own but I’m not interested in the MP map packs

  • NextGate

    Already donwloaded it

    Thanks Major!

  • ChargingMuffin

I am weighing up whether 1600 Microsoft Points will be a good investment considering I don’t really play Gears 2 much. I probably wont be getting it.

  • pabc

I’d like to add it to my queue – sadly all I got earlier was the 5×5 code, and now when I try all I get is a server unavailable page. I had hoped to have it ready for me when I get home but sadly not.

I just hope I can get it queued up from my 360.

  • captpluto9465

If you already own one pack, like Snowblind, is it worth it to get All Fronts, or should I just get Dark Corners? Confused…

  • SumHydroponic

Just started dl’ing now. Can’t wait to get off work tonight so i can play some horde mode on the new maps.

  • oO MG81 Oo

    @Joergen8, I totally agree.

  • faultrd

Why are people so shocked that buying DLC early means you pay more for it? It’s just like anything in life.

  • BustedChain

Major: Why is Microsoft flipping me (and many other loyal customers) a big fat finger and expecting us to spend 3200 points on all the maps where other people who just buy them today will spend 1600 points for all the maps? I already have the other map packs which I spent 2000 points on. Shouldn’t I get the Dark Corners for free since Microsoft will still have made 400 points more on me than someone else? —- At least getting the pack for free would actually be a PERK of being a loyal customer, heaven forbid Microsoft should give 2 sh!t$ about keeping loyal customers happy. This tells me that I should never buy another map again until a map pack comes out for 1/2 the original price. I don’t see how 2000 + 1200 points to get all the maps is fair since I already own all the other map packs. This is bullsh!t.

  • BustedChain

@faultrd: I expect to pay more buying something early but not DOUBLE the freaking price. This is ridiculous that they expect loyal customers to pay an extra 1600 points. I’ve already spent 2000 points on the prior maps. They could give the latest map pack to customers that already own all three at a MUCH steeper discount and still make more money off us than people who waited. Hell, if I had known there was going to be such a huge difference in price, I would have waited. I hardly played the other maps because GoW2 is so freaking glitchy.

This is yet another example of MicroShaft saying screw you to loyal customers and again providing very little benefit to Gold subscribers.

  • PiNkEyE69

@captpluto9465: depends, do you own just the snowblind and not the combustable or the flasback as well?
If so then it’s does matter which route you go as it’s either a total of 2400 for the all fronts pack (including the 800 you’ve already spent) or 2400 for the dark corners + combustible + flashback

  • Wiizpig

Hey, can someone explain if this will also be sold in a physical box in Europe?
    Or is it DLC only?
I have the Flashback maps, i should buy All Fronts, right?

  • captpluto9465

I forgot I also have Flashback from the game box code, so I have Snowblind and Flashback.

  • Archangel3371

Woo hoo! Awesome! I’m definitely grabbing this. I already have the other two map packs so this is a pretty good deal getting 7 more maps plus some new single-player content for 1200 points.

  • Spargo CXVII

Some single-player and many new maps to play Horde in. Yeah, All Fronts Collection is mine.

  • votemarvel

I’ve unlocked the Highway to Hell achievement for finishing the deleted scene.

However while it’s showing as unlocked on my 360 and the score has been updated, this isn’t being reflected on xbox.com. I know the updates are immediate but you’d think it’d be there over two hours later.

  • II W4RLORD II

I will be getting this, thanks.

  • waldo15

Man, not only GoW2 games are laggy as heck… now they even break Xbox.com. I just cannot log in to buy this stuff.

e or whoever is in charge of fixing this, we are in your capable hands,

  • LanerGT

“Why are people so shocked that buying DLC early means you pay more for it? It’s just like anything in life.”

Exactly. Being an early adopter *always* comes with a price.

  • hudsmack

The deleted scene should have stayed deleted, it’s garbage. The maps are pretty nice though.

  • sleepydumbdude

Sweet I just picked up Gears 2 about three weeks ago and was waiting on this. Can’t wait to get home to play just purchased through xbox.com.

  • Keeby Boy

GEARS 2 MULTIPLAYER IS NOT BROKEN.

4 title updates and it’s great.

  • XxLightkunxX

So glad I only buy legitimate DLC from companies that care for their fans.

    Like Bungie. :D

  • oue

Keeby Boy- The Weapon glitch is still there. Not fun after almost a year to go a few round without a gun. Also google “gear of war 2 glitches” and click the 1st link.

  • DeathConvoy

    @Tiger Cheex & K04 Passat
You bought and paid for the Combustible and Snowblind packs early, and enjoyed them yes? Its no different to the Halo 3 Legendary pack now being cheaper, or even the Hidden Fronts pack for Gears of War (1) which was made completely free a few short months after release.

If you want to play the maps early, you buy them… if you’re happy to wait 3 months for a discount, or even get them free, then you wait. No different to if you bought the retail game now at a considerably discounted price than first week of launch.

I for one think the price is a bargain.

  • Exu

Can’t really do this at the moment, I’m budgeted with my points. Also, though I can’t deny the value of the All Fronts Collection, fact remains that some individuals got it for 800 so… yeah.

  • Mongey Mongrel

I love gears 2 when it works. But I’ve just given up on it . Just too few games that arnt a laggy mess. Wont be buying

  • HypnoticPenguin

Played Way Station and Sanctuary on Horde last night, both were excellent. No shortage of players with the new maps either so shouldn’t have a problem finding a game. Recommended.

  • ElisabethinCA

I’m sorry but I have no sympathy for all the people whining about the cost of the Dark Corners Map Pack. What product out there, whether content, or an actual product, gaming or otherwise DOESN’T go down in price after it’s been on the market for a while? In every industry you have products that come out at a certain cost, then later they go down in cost. That is life. Look at all the DLC that is now free but when it came out it cost? Next time, don’t buy anything until after it’s been out for a while. You want to be the first to have it, you will pay for the latest and greatest. It’s always been that way and will always be that way.
I for one, just appreciate that both Epic, and MS offer a quality product that I enjoy and get to play anytime I want. I also have a choice to purchase it or not. It is not a life sustaining device….AND It’s still a lot cheaper than a lot of other entertainment choices, i.e. going to the show, out to dinner, Disneyland, etc.
This one is a no brainer….it’s called Consumer-ism and the American way.

  • Si7777

Tried the All Fronts Collection and got this (both via In Game and on xbox.com):

    “Sorry

This offer is not valid in your region, or it has expired.”

Disasterous! I’m in the UK, so it’s not because of my region. If it’s expired, why show up in the options? Those who got it and need to download again should do so via their Download History.

As a result, I’m not going to buy any of the packs. Shame, really.

  • Blufunk

I have the same problem, I can’t download the All Fronts Pack because of some weird problem about region or expiration…
