cod 4 go past cod waw nice

  • ItsNymo

Nice to now see how 1 vs 100 is faring against the other Xbox Live games.
Glad to see Splosion Man got up to 2nd, and even Monkey Island in 3rd.
Wondering why Kodu seems to be falling in the, -ahem- Indie Games section…

  • Supreme Entity

Good to see ‘Splosion Man up there… Great game!!!

  • PAT2K9

Halo 3 is once again at the top. I’m happy to see that.

  • Anonymous

    wooooooooo cdwaw is dieing !!

  • Markatansky

WAW isn’t dieing. Come back next week and it’ll probably have moved up again. ModWar didn’t.

  • Archangel3371

No surprises for the top 5 games, they’re all fantasic games. It’ll be interesting to see how things shake up when Modern Warfare 2 comes out and Halo 3: ODST.

I think the COD 4 jump over WAW is in anticipation of Modern Warfare 2. I’m very sure if Microsft tracked single player games, Mass Effect, Bioshock, and Assassins Creed will experience a similar phenomenon in late 2009/early 2010.

@ Archangel3371, I’m excited to see someone else playing The Last Remnant. I think it was woefully overlooked last year.

  • TBizzle4Shizzle

Seriously… the list needs to be made top 20.

  • ChargingMuffin

Including 1 vs 100 isn’t really fair as it’s basically free while all the other titles on that list are £40ish. More people will therefore play 1 v 100.

  • Sneeches

    @TBizzle – top 20 would be cool.

As for the post, thanks for the update major and no surprise to the top 5, they are all awesome games.

  • Zoidberg25

I’m quite surprised to see Kodu at fourth of Community Games. And as a Halo fan, I’m always happy that Halo 3’s first ;)

  • Thief000

Please bring 1 vs 100 to the Netherlands (and other European countries) Microsoft!

  • Archangel3371

@BLUEMANRULE Yeah I’m really enjoying The Last Remnant. I just picked it up not long ago and have already put countless hours into it. I installed it on the HDD and while not flawless it runs pretty decently. Awesome music in it and it’s a nice looking game graphically. It seems like it’s a very big game with a lot to do and it’s also pretty challenging. Overall I’m very happy I decided to buy it.

  • Ark Hunter

How is 1943 in the main list? Do the Arcade games never get enough play to make it on there and this one has? I don’t recall seeing any arcade titles in the main list before.

  • Digitalspirit

You’ve pretty much answered your own question Ark Hunter. The game is a massive success with a lot of players and is easily the best XBLA title yet, I was expecting it to actually chart higher than 5, it’s brilliant fun and actually made CoD feel rather dull afterwards due to the fact it feels like a proper battle and not just shooting people over and over.

  • BryceS

It would be interesting to get a better idea of numbers. It’s great to see Monkey Island third in the XBLA games, especially when the first two slots are taken by Battlefield (which is a huge phenomenon) and Splosion Man (which has been heavily promoted by MS on Major’s podcast, on Inside XBox, as part of the Summer of Arcade and lots of other places).

But when you consider that most of the slots beyond fourth place are filled by quite old titles, I wonder how many units are really selling. I wonder if the sales of Monkey Island has been enough to justify remaking more classic Lucasarts adventures?

  • zeDuffMan

Arcade games are generally crap. But BF1943 is a mini full game rather than a low-budget one so it’s actually decent. EA have done a good job with it.

  • IconicSoulJA

Hmm. I hope everyone didn’t forget that the emails for the Preview are going out today.

@ ChargingMuffin: The list has already included demos before, which haven’t always gotten huge numbers, so your logic is flawed. It’s good to see 1 vs 100 up there – it’s a really fun trivia game to play, esp. with a group of friends. I hope more countries get to experience it too!

  • XxLightkunxX

Oh wow, 1 vs 100 made it into the list? Nice! Must be thanks to the multi-themed Extended Plays and 1 vs 100 Live sessions giving out prizes now. Kick butt! :D

  • Frayteez

Nice to see COD 4 rise up again. Hopefully with monkey island on the top most part of the list gets microsoft to being over Monkey Island 2! Should be intresting in the next few months to see whats on the list, my guess will be:

Modern warfare 2, Halo ODST, Halo 3, Modern warfare, Cod WAW…you get the picture. A lot of the same and their ‘sequals’

  • The 7raveler

I think a lot of people are forgetting that ODST comes with Halo 3’s multiplayer-So that adds into the Halo 3 total.

  • Livid Saint

Halo 3 needs to go away already. there are so many games that are so much better.

  • r00taBEGGAS

gotta get shenmue 2 on the original xbox top 10!

  • DubbeL FriSSS

RC-AirSim sounds nice, hope we can one day also find Community Games

  • Blue Thunder28

More people need Kodu Game Lab!

  • Printmatic

It amazes me that RC Air Sim is on the top of the Community Games list every week. That game is downright terrible. For the same 200 points you can get much better games. Hopefully the new Flight Sim game “Game Training Vol. 2: Flight”, which looks promising, can finally take this thing off the leaderboard.

One reason COD Waw may not be doing well is because not everyone in the world can download the new maps …frustrating to enter a match only to be sent out to buy the map and find out its not available in my region then repeat the process on the next search… This is the first time I’ve come across region locked content for downloadable maps. Why have such a thing! Hope this is not the beginning of the end for online gamers outside these special regions. Guess they should learn from Bungie’s Halo 3 worldwide donimation … no region restrictions …

  • Searing Wave

    @Livid Saint
If you try to shove your opinion down other people’s throats like that, you’ll only get vomitted on.

I haven’t tried 1 vs. 100, and it doesn’t appeal to me very much. Odd to see it doing so well though. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare should permanently stay above World at War. Modern Warfare 2 should be an incredible game as long as Infinity Ward doesn’t let the success of their last title go to their heads.

Halo 3: ODST will make me very happy (along with Halo 3 continuing to do so) until the release of Halo: Reach, which will easily keep me occupied for another 3 years. Long live the King.
