  • Freaky Priest

    Too Expensive!

  • Big Scooby 82

HELP! Should I really, REALLY burn my last 1200 ms points on this game? I really don’t wanna throw that much more money around video game wise until Modern Warfare 2 comes out. What to do What to do. Should I wait for an even better arcade title? I loved playing this game in the arcade but that was sooooo long ago. Ideas would be helpful people. Advice?

  • Cirdan Alcarin

Sweet! let the hours of playing and owning friends begin! Awesome, haven’t played this game since back in the day!

  • Ahmedz

I’ve been downloading for an hour and it just reached 25% >__>

  • Leksman

Big Scooby 82, just download demo and then decide.

  • JaggedCrane

Can’t download fast enough, been waiting forever for it to appear.

  • ShiftyInc

too expensive for a port game. i’ll save my 1200 points for shadow complex

  • Anonymous

instant buy don’t care if its a port and at 1200 points, when the xbox1 one goes for £60 to £150 on ebay. Think i’d rather buy this, make sense to me.

  • Tekkie neXt

To those saying this is too expensive, it’s an improved port of the Dreamcast version, the ONLY good version, I would gladly pay up to 1600 points for this.

MvC2 is a pure classic, people already pay £40($65ish) and up to get it in half decent condition.

And you’re not gonna pay what, £8($13), a snippet of the going price for a working retail version.

It’s a bargain at this price, for a version that you’ll never lose, never scratch the disc, never have to buy again if the disc becomes unreadable.

  • K04 Passat

Instant buy, you have to get this. If you’ve never played it, you’re missing out!

And THANKS to the Live team, Marketplace loads everything up instantly, with the new update!

  • r3dreck

These 1200-1600 point games should have more achievements than 200.

  • GuZ1977

This must be the most stupid Arcade trial yet, you can ONLY play a local vs. match, no single player or Xbox Live!!

  • krisxx

i hope all games are 1200pts and up from now on, so ppl really have something to cry about.

  • ProjectMayhem69

Seriously not expensive enough! I probably would’ve paid 1600 points ($20) or more if the download was over 200 MB haha. At least we got it a full 2 weeks before the Playstation Network gamers (thanks to the PSN demo they got) and Summer of Arcade.

  • L0rN

Playing against myself is a real comeptition. I love the demo…not.

  • StabaCadaver

If you complain about the pricing for this game you must be 12 years old. There is no reason why this game is not worth $15 for people that like the crossover fighting games.

  • Anonymous

    @ GuZ1977

its the same for all capcom fighter trails.

  • Klix360

    The demo sucks.

  • FlagshipFighter

Got the game! Fantastic, one to own, though at one point it might be a (virtual) shelf item, but a good one at that! Still worth it for all the multiplayers, oh and I forgot about the online!!!

  • Freaky Priest

I already have it on Dreamcast. Would buy it for 800 again, though.

  • Zentik

not worth. to expensive. the sprite have some simple filters, but, they are pixelated though.

  • aceattorney

FINALLY!!! This game is so awesome.

  • Sneeches

im not good at fighting games and get severely pissed off, so ill pass

  • ObiCiscoNobi

Best fighting game ever, 1200 M$P($15) is a steal. Don’t know why ppl say “too expensive” when they spend $60 on games -_-

  • Warrengonline

True fighting fans rejoice! This game rocks! The 1200 point price is a small price for the fun as there are good players out there and the 6 Player lobby for spectating is AWESOME! IF i had to complain, a small update can fix it, the ability to hit START to leave a game that is not in progress. Other than that, everything is in place. you can even turn the graphics BACK to the old school pixels! AWESOME! If you own this on Dreamcast, then you KNOW the ONLINE part is worth $30 by itself! The achievements are crazy “Good luck”.

    @Big Guino
Are you ready for me to “Take you for a ride?” It’s going to be bumpy, but flashy.

    @FlagshipFighter
I second that one for a fun experience. Next Shadow Complex (hopefully).

  • Frayteez

such crybabies. This game was worth over $70 on ebay for the longest time. Sometimes even as far as over $100. How can $15 be too much? Must be the same people that complain when something they bought is the Deal of the Week.

  • Lanmanna

LOL at the people who say it costs too much. Are you really that cheap?

  • Neo X5

    Great game, well worth it.

  • MACPH1ST0

@ Big Scooby 82: Unless you REALLY love fighting games, you should just save your points for an original, non-port game like Shadow Complex. Or in other words, as you already said “wait for an even better arcade title”. :)

  • Dark Knight 2K

Not much of a demo. Can’t try it alone.

  • Makavelo

is this look as pixelated as King Of Fighter 12, because KoF12 Suck ass

  • Anonymous

I’ll get this on PS3 since the 360 DPAD sucks for fighting games.

  • XxLightkunxX

    @GuZ1977

    Compared to what…

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix? That had multiplayer only too, and a few other fighter trials work like that as well. Stop complaining.

Can’t wait to download, but I think I’m obsessing on 2D fighters this year….still on BlazBlue which I got 2 days ago. X_X

  • Frayteez

are all the characters unlocked or do you have to buy them with points again. I dont wanna play online unless i have my team ;) wolverine, iron man…then whoever :P

  • GuZ1977

@DevilTriggerEX and all other people complaining about the D-pad:
Buy a good Arcade stick for the 360 and play the games the way they were meant to be played!

    @XxLightkunxX
Are you for real? Why release a demo/trial that can only be played by calling a friend to come over so one can even get a look at the game?
And those other trials that you speak of (one or two that is) are broken too…

Played some SNK fighters last night and those at least let you play one or two stages with a few characters. Come on Crapcom, this sucks!

  • ProjectMayhem69

@Frayteez Every character and costume is unlocked from the beginning apparently (I assume to make things fair for everyone). I don’t necessarily agree with this, but I can see why they may have decided to do it.

  • Frayteez

@projectMayhem69 Thanks for letting me know. Yeah i can understand why they did it but now theres almost no point to play single player (besides achievements)

  • ProjectMayhem69

@Frayteez Yep I completely agree. Guess I’ll just treat it as an advanced training mode haha.

  • Frayteez

@ProjectMayhem69 haha yeah can only fight that final boss so many times tho. I remember on the original xbox playing single player so many times to buy all the characters, costumes, colors. That final boss is the easiest boss ever. I’ll have to add you and maybe we can play once i buy it.

  • Exu

While usually I agree about the overpriced consensus for certain Arcade games, let me just make a point to the people whining about the price of MvC2.
This game was on the original Xbox. Xbox Originals are 1200 points, not to mention how much this game costs on disc nowadays.
This version is built on code better than the original Xbox version, displays in widescreen and comes with online play (which the Xbox disc did not).
Furthermore, when you try to run the original as a backward-compatible title it plays horribly.
And after all that… this version is 1200 points.

    tl;dr: Quit ‘yer bitchin.

  • ProjectMayhem69

@Frayteez Beat ya to it, friend lol. God bless this blog and Microsoft in general.

  • Mongey Mongrel

Awesome. Downloaded waiting for me to get home from work.

Cant believe poeple complaing about the price. So its not 800 points ? its a full retail game with 56 characters that is highly regarded and sort after and its less than $20 . I spend the amount this games costs in less than an hour in the pub. Who cares ??

  • Ollyh

The trial was a waste of time, I’ll pass.

  • starz1984

if anyone wants to add me, it’s starz1984

  • TotalD78

    WOW, worst Demo ever.
Local mp only, not even one single player match. To those that love this game enjoy but I’ll be saving my wacky dollars.

Also, to those that say that this isn’t overpriced due the disc versions being expensive. The disc version is expensive because it is rare and hard to find. Simple supply and demand pricing (supply low + demand high = higher price). Plus when you purchase that disc you own something with physical value, Arcade games have absolutely no value after you purchase it.
I bet you are the same people that complain when prices of content gets discounted over time (even though that rarely happens).

  • Anonymous

    lower the price!

  • KazamaSogetsu

Please stop giving the “this game is still selling for U$ 70, 1200 points is nothing”. It’s only because it was a *very* limited edition for both Xbox and PS2.

  • metallicorphan

i don’t play these games online,so until they put an offline mode in the trial for me to try out,i will keep my points for the next game

  • quikDC

Fantastic game but considering its 10 years old, 1200 points is a little high

  • gameweasl

They didn’t allow you to play HDR one player demo either, get over it…

  • Warrengonline

    @TotalD78
I played the 2 Player version of this on PS3 and it was awesome – Xbox360 was for sure a a purchase day one. I tried to play the demo on Xbox360, just to try it (I was going to and did buy it), but I was too pre-occupied to connect another controller so I unlocked the full game after 20 something seconds. It is kind of ‘not good’ to have a one-player arcade to play a little of the game. Street Fighter II HyperFighting let’s you experience the game a little.

This is one awesome game, the best fighting game on DLC for me (compared to SFHD Remix and SamshoII). If you’re not a fighting game fan, skip of this, just liike if it was a puzzle game, if you do not like puzzle games.

    Why is this game awesome?

    1. It’s Marvel vs Capcom 2
    2. It has ONLINE Multiplayer
    3. Has a Six player Lobby WITH Spectating! (with VOICE!)
    4. The d-pad control is FAR SUPERIOR than previous Capcom fightings games on a standard Xbox360 controller
    5. You get ALL of this for $15!
    6. MegaMan, Spiderman, Iceman, Rogue and Gambit along with Wolverine are “sweet”.

If that does not get your excited or curiousity….. *?*

[Refraining from negative buzz about fans who purchased Gear 2 Maps.]

  • Anonymous

just take it for a ride !!

  • jsb2

    Horrible pricing!

  • Big Scooby 82

OK, I may be pissing a lot of “hardcore fighters” off, but this game sucks! I can’t get past the main single-player game unless i continue every 2 rounds or so, the online mode is basically broken. Its more like “first lick, wins” Its a button mashing game. period. If i had an arcade joystick I might be writing a completely different post. But in all seriousness, the demo didn’t even give you a chance to play the core game at all… i sat there and played a rag doll controller 2 player with no fun or idea of the true game at all. i loved this game 10 years ago in the arcade but on xbl and with a 1200 point price i feel like I have been ripped off. Honestly what skill is there involved in this game? Anybody who wants to bitc* and moan over my post please be ready to respond with 15 combos and their corresponding button sequences for 3 characters at least. I bet you dont know them (and oh RYU’s fireball doesn’t count) The 10 or 12 times i tried to play online were sole button mashing sessions. And HD graphics? whatever!! its based on the dreamcast build and it looks just like that no matter what “filter” is enabled. Worse 1200 points spent. I’d rather play battlefield.

  • Col Hartman

I would have pulled the trigger for 800 points, but for 800 points I think I’ll pass at 1200. Maybe it is a future deal of the week?

  • Royal Hustle

Please quit calling this a port and acting like it’s a rip off, this is not a port. Why? BECAUSE IT HAS ONLINE MULTIPLAYER YOU MORONS! The online factor alone makes this worth every penny, actually i would definitely be happy to pay more. I can sit on my couch, and play marvel vs capcom 2 ONLINE. This is ABSOLUTELY in no way, shape, or form a port of the old game. wow the character sprites look the same, who the hell cares are people really that shallow that the graphics effect the gameplay that much? Graphics are the least of my concern when a game is good it is good regardless, it’s about the gameplay. Learn to open your mouth only when you have something accurate to point out.
