@ dafin0: no, it is correct, you see, the top arcade titles is of games purchased and the top Live list is of games played on Live.
Since Battlefield 1943 has been out already for some weeks it has a bigger chance of being played and have sold more then Marvel vs Capcom 2.

So the Live list is for games played and arcade list is for games sold that week.

When Halo 3: ODST comes out, it’s going to be the same thing, ’till Modern Warfare 2 comes out.

Battlefield 1943 can be played online with out being bought that is why the discrepancy a lot of people played it with out buying it

Wow, I really though Gears 2 had a chance of finally cracking the top 3 with the All Fronts/Dark Corners + double XP week. The new maps are really awesome.

Ahh, I just started playing BF 1943. Great game for those who haven’t given it a shot =)

Nice to see 1943 still in the top, seems like Marvel vs Capcon 2 is a big hit I will try it but I doubt I will like it.

Surprised Gears wasn’t a bit higher on the list

Maybe next week Hasbro will finally be knocked out of the top 10 and stay that way.

Damn, Gears 2 just seem to catch a break. I would have thought the doouble XP week and the new maps would have brought more people to that game. The new Gears maps are pretty cool, so go check them out people.

Yeah I thought Gears 2 would have gone up a notch with the Dark Corners dlc. Still though it’s in with some great games like Halo 3, Modern Warfare, and World at War. Nice going Marvel vs. Capcom 2 it’s an awesome game. I can’t wait for ODST and Modern Warfare 2.

Silly people Gears of war 2 may go up next week as the DLC was release on 28th and guess what this is the week of the 27th so in the next one it should show you

What? “the week of July 27″ implies July 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, August 1, 2. Of those 7 days, the Gears 2 maps have been available for 6 of them.

It makes perfect sense (see post by Joris) – the Top LIVE titles go by how many people are PLAYING them that week, the top Arcade titles go by how many people PURCHASED them that week. Since 1943 has been out longer it makes sense that more people have it and are PLAYING it. Since MvC2 was released more recently it makes sense that more people are PURCHASING it.

If Epic wasn’t so cheap, they would add dedicated servers to Gears 2 – maybe then it would climb higher.
All the lag, glitching & host bullsh*t really gets on my nerves.
I know that one day i’m gonna get so pissed off, that i’ll end up breaking the disc.

And if it was the week leading “up to” the 27th, this would have been posted WAAAY before August 4th.

Also kinda surprised to not see Gears jump above 4th place. The new maps do rock pretty hard…

Halo 3 is only #1 because Call of Duty WaW split the Call of Duty player between COD4. Will MW2 bring them back together? Zombies are hard to give up.

Yeah! for MvC2, but no one with the Kings? KOFXII (750MB installed via NXE Preview 2)? Wow. Saddening. Waiting to check out the new Turtles, holding out for Shadow Complex, but Dark Corners Map Pack is a fair deal. Choices, Choices…

Find some friend and play well. My friend press on without me. There’s NOTHING like blastng someone point blank in the back in Gears of War 2 with the shotgun twice and they turn, shoots you once in the ribs and you explode like its the Fourth of July. The sacastic laughing soon becomes caveman grunting “… What!?… Did you see that!? Did you… oh it’s on now…” Match over, “I’m out ya’ll!”. So bro, you’re not the only one experiencing laggers and glitchers. But don’t break the disc.

I’m always playing with friends – it’s pretty much the only way i’ll play Gears online.
Finding a random team to play with (more often then not) doesn’t work out for me – i almost often get matched up with, for the lack of a better word, idiots.

But when Gears is good, there’s no competition, but when it’s lagging, there’s nothing worse.

TMNT TITRS dropping tomorrow. Cannot wait (I have to wait til thursday sadly) because that was one of my favorite arcade games back in the day.

Im kinda surprised BF:Bad Company didnt make it. I know quite a lot of ppl who, after playing BF:1943, went out and grabbed a copy.

I might consider getting Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

I can’t wait for Modern Warfare 2 either, but at the longest it will only be able to hold the spot for about a year, until Halo: Reach comes out. And it’s very likely it will surrender the top spot back to Halo 3 in the waning months before Reach releases.

And just as others have said, it is immensely surprising that Gears of War 2 didn’t overtake the number 3 spot after Dark Corners/All Fronts. I’ll bet it came close at the very least.

COD:MW2 is about to come out an the first one is still dominating.

Lol @ those surprised about Gears2. Are you really that surprised? With all of the connection issues, the horrible non-existent region filter, and no host-migration you really expect this game to move up the charts? To be honest, I’m surprised it’s even still on the charts instead of the first one. At least in the first one I could choose what I wanted to play and choose the rooms by best connection. Gears 2 is a complete failure in the competitive multiplayer department. Hopefully they keep horde, the awesome story, and completely ditch the MP design from this one for Gears 3. Also, if you are listening Epic, NO BETA = NO BUY(for gears 3). I’m not the only one either.
