error 80004005 is all i get when i try to buy it … i’ve been waiting to purchase it for 2 hours.

  • oO BeLGaRaTh Oo

Can you idiots at MS do anything right? I am trying to purchase in game, get an error, try to buy via 360marketplace get an error. Try to buy from xbox.com have to use a prepay code, wtf!!

I am sorely disappointed that you have f99ked up yet again. On top of screwing the UK market with a £30 price increase for the console too. Maybe it’s time I gave this Sony thing a look

  • Rossa AU

When i try and buy it (off xbox.com), it just shows up a redeem code screen.
I don’t plan on downloading it tonight, will have to wait till i wake up tomorrow cause i am too close to my download limit…..i was still hoping to get it cued so it would download straight away when i turned my xbox on tomorrow lol

  • ape dk

How come the States gets a demo and the full game on the marketplace and here in Denmark we have only the game..????

  • phoenx97

Neither the demo nor the full game show up on xbox.com for me yet. I’ve downloaded the demo from my dashboard but when I try to unlock I get error 80004005; will have to wait till I wake up I guess

  • JaggedCrane

Download seems to work fine when getting it on the 360 for other people having problems on xbox.com

  • Huddy72

Not sure this has actually been added yet. I can only see links to download the trailer on Xbox.com – no demo or full game link.

  • felino360

    I try to buy it, but I get error 80004005 too… :(

  • Thunder Buckets

@JaggedCrane – You can download the demo just fine. But if you try to buy the full game, or even upgrade the demo to a full game, you get an error code.

  • Darkness Zora64

    downloading now thanks major
haha suckorz who cant download lol

  • uncle rodeo

I wasn’t able to download it from the regular Game Marketplace or on xbox.com. After searching the forums I found this link http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/offers/00000001-0000-4000-8000-0000584108f6 . I purchased it from xbox.com and it is downloading fine.

  • XandizitxU

Via xbox.com could buy the game

  • Rykin Poe

I can’t get this game to unlock either. Same status code 80004005 error. Still not showing up for download via the 360 either (just has the Watch Preview, All Downloads, and Rate options).

  • Danowat32

    No trial in the UK?

  • aseddon130

i just bought it off the dashboard marketplace … finally.

its only taken me 2 hours to unlock it!!

  • ProjectMayhem69

I also had to buy the full version via xbox.com. I’m sure the dashboard error code will get resolved for everyone eventually.

  • MACPH1ST0

Yeah same here too. There’s still the status code 80004005 error if you try to download it off the Dashboard Marketplace, but the xbox.com Marketplace link works now and I’m downloading it right now.

  • peejam

what a bunch of morons you all. its only a game… not like a cure for cancer. just wait a bit and try again :P

  • peejam

what a bunch of morons you all. its only a game… not like a cure for cancer. just wait a bit and try again :P cut the major some slack.

  • blyatt

I had that same error code… just downloaded the demo and purchased from the menu “unlock full game”.

This game is crazy… its too good to be an arcade! I’m excited to get into it.

  • Printmatic

835MB is the file size. Remember back in the Good Ol’ Days when these things had to be under 50MB. Can anyone do me a favor and find me a list of the “current” guidelines and limitations on the file sizes for XBLA games.

  • tabicat

1200 points? I’ll just wait until it drops to 800.

  • BROKENRADIO541

Jeez you people whine a lot. You’re paying $15 for a game that could easily sell for $30!!! I downloaded it just fine when I woke up for work today at 5:45am PST. No problems here. Can’t wait to get home and play!

  • Anonymous

    @tabicat
LOL, you’re gonna be waiting quite a while for that price drop, hope you dont expect it to be a deal of the week.

I had no problems dowmloading it from the dash this morning. Kick ass game!!! WELL worth $15, like BROKENRADIO541 said,” this game could easily sell for $30″

  • MADEIRA STEVE88

Still haven’t had the chance to try this yet.

  • a peeking duck

Bought, queued and waiting to download for when I turn on my Xbox for the first time in 3 weeks! :D Can’t wait!

  • ufcmike1

Downloading it now, should be done within an hour.

  • Vergenc3

Loving the game so far. I’ll play it more once I get off work.

I laugh at the people who whines about it being expensive. Three words for you: Get a job!…or Ask your parents!

  • Wiizpig

    Fantastic game.

  • K04 Passat

Summer of Arcade ’09 has been great. I’ll try the game out, over the weekend. Already paid my $15, though. Looks like my kind of game.

  • K1LLER HORNET

    @ tabicat

There is always one person who says this.

“Oh, if it was 800MSP, then i’d get it – but 1200 is too expensive”
“Oh, if it was 400MSP, then i’d get it – but 800 is too expensive”
“Oh, if it was <400MSP, then i’d get it – but 400 is too expensive”

    It’s so annoying.

  • NOPECK7

you should thank Microsoft for this game it was suppose to be 1600 Microsoft point than Microsoft change the price but now i get free ms point because i downloaded every summer arcade game

  • sepulturas666

Maybe best XBLA game so far. Hands down.
Lol@ people complaining about 1200 MS points price.

  • piderman31415

This game is worth every penny twice over. ‘Nuff said.

  • Just2Lazzzy

I had no problem downloading the arcade. I just didn’t recieve the free 800MSP. Supposed to have got it. Since I bought “Explosion Man, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, TMNT, Trails HD, Shadow Complex” All the summer arcades… Stated to get the FREE 800MSP. What a load of shit* Microsoft, screw people over.

  • Just2Lazzzy

    Game is fantastic!!!!
I’m loving the story. The cutscenes are funny at times. “Cliffy-B” Style. I’ve been through 5 upgrades. Plenty of goodies to find. “I LOVE MAKING THEM SOLDIERS SCREAM” Absolutely fun. Great arcade* 5/5 Stars.

  • Angel Abaddon

Just2Lazzzy: How apt you name is considering that you didn’t check the T&C’s: “The free Points will be automatically deposited into your Xbox LIVE account after the end of the promotion period.” from http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/summerofarcade#disclaimer. The promotion period ends on the 31st August

  • km23

Worth every penny so far. $15 is not expensive for this game. Nice job! I hope to see more games like this in the future.

  • GuZ1977

“Don’t miss this special offer. Purchase all five of the Summer of Arcade games before August 31, 2009 and receive 800 Microsoft Points—FREE!*”

“Offer available only to legal residents, age 13+, of the 50 United States (includes D.C.)”

“Offer available only to legal residents, age 14 plus, of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, France and Germany”

So the rest of the world gets screwed again, thanks for nothing Microsoft!

  • SeeUInTheFuture

Will get tonight! I got all 5 summer games this year

  • Firecrest

@tabicat At this rate, you’ll have to sit through at least 200 premium themes, 30 obsolete add-ons, and perhaps a picture pack or two before Shadow Complex meets deal of the week status.

Figure this game needs some critics, so here are my impressions: I’m about five hours in, and so far I’m slightly disappointed with Shadow Complex. The opening scenario impressed me with the all the action, fantastic XBLA visuals and controls reminiscent of games yonder, but those feelings quickly dissipated as I got deeper into the game. What I began to realize was that Shadow Complex is no different than your typical Metroid or Castlevania. The only feat the developers managed to accomplish was recapturing the feeling of those games and sparkled that with some nice UE3 eye candy. Makes sense that Chair would mimic a classic given that their previous effort (Undertow) was downright horrendous.

  • Gambit3rd

Maybe 1600 MS Points was a bit overpriced but at 1200 is a real deal. If you loved games like Metroid and Castlevania this game is a must have.

I enjoyed a lot Symphony Of The Night on my PSP (the XBLA version is a real shame, graphically speaking, so ugly to see…) and I’m really loving this Shadow Complex. I tried the demo and bought it on the fly. It took me yesterday’s afternoon to uncover 51% of the map.

The only problem with this game is the replayability. You can play it again only if you are an achievements maniac. Otherwise, every playthrough is almost similiar to the previous one (except for the starting level of the character which doesn’t seem to influence the gameplay that much as Castlevania SOTN did. I remember going back and fort in the rooms on SOTN to level up to acquire more strenght, defence and HP to beat a boss).

Anyway, a really good one week-end game.

  • Just2Lazzzy

Angel Abaddon: Thanks for the information. I forgot to check that out! Guess, I was too lazzzy. ^_^

  • MACPH1ST0

@ Firecrest: That’s the whole point of the game: it’s SUPPOSED to play just like a Metroid or Castlevania game, with their own unique tweaks added to the formula. Cliffy B and Donald Mustard (I wonder if his friends call him Colonel?) have repeatedly said in interviews that Shadow Complex is their homage to those old-school games and that they wanted to make an updated version of that gameplay style. It’s not supposed to be mostly action-based like a Gears game. It’s supposed to focus primarily on map exploration and item collection, which you can tell since your status while playing the game shows your current item collection percentage.

@ Gambit3rd: I bet they added those Master Challenges and the Proving Ground challenges later on in the development as a way to add to the replayability.

  • Digitalspirit

What the hell is wrong with XBL? Every time it’s gets patched it gets worse. This took me nearly 3 hours to download!!! I had a full speed 8Mb connection which worked perfectly for everythng else. My friends are also having issues in game. It’s about time you gave us what we pay for instead of constantly screwing everything up. I want a console to play games not look at facebook or rent films. I have a PC for that. Is it too much to ask that a mchine a bought to play games on actually allows me to do that one simple task? I guess I already know the answer to that :(

  • wolfzero01

fun game definitely worth the price, although it took longer than usual to download

  • BROKENRADIO541

Best $15 I have ever spent on the XBL marketplace. No joke.

  • sonnyforple

Easily worth the $15, graphics remind me of Bionic Commando Rearmed, only even better. I hope this sells well, these are the games XBL need.

  • NP Sage

Best $15 I have ever spent on the XBL marketplace. No joke.

    Agreed.

  • Lites

What is the unlockabe avatar award for this game? anyone know?

  • HFC

Hats off to Chair/Epic for this one. This game – while not original – is near perfect. It takes Splinter Cell, Metal Gear, Impossible Mission and Bionic Command:Rearmed and combines them perfectly. There have been some fine XBLA titles (Braid, Geo Wars 2 etc) but this is the best yet. This is a better game than most full priced retail games. Don’t complain about the 1200 points – this really is money well spent. Splosion man is a great game, Trials HD is a great game. This is the pick of the bunch. MSFT saved the best to last and congrats to all for this brilliant game.

  • XYullX

    niceee game

  • Binarynova

What little bit of the very long trial I played was very fun. But, I can’t decide if it’s uncanny similarity to Super Metroid is a reason to buy or a reason to not buy it. Mind you, I LOVED Super Metroid, but this game goes past ‘resemblance’ and right straight to ‘copy’.

Are the controls customizable? I only ask because it’s SO similar that I keep finding myself trying to play it like Super Metroid (which really says something considering I haven’t played that in years).

  • captpluto9465

It really it worth it. The only customizable controls are assigning upgrades (hookshot, missiles, etc) to the D-pad.
