I don’t think the leak for some countries was intentional, was it?… why didn’t BioWare at least make an announcement? :/

  • ufcmike1

Ever since I heard about this DLC for Mass Effect, I have been debating on rather or not I should give Mass Effect a try. I have never played Mass Effect, but I have heard good things about the game. Perhaps soon.

  • Spargo CXVII

AWESOMENESS ENSUES!!!!! There is some love after all……….

  • Gvaz

FINALLY. Took them long enough to release the 2nd DLC.

  • moocow21

    @ufcmike1
Well, if you like any one or more of the following: a good action game, a good RPG, or an awesome story & universe — you should get the game ASAP. At $20 it’s probably the best bargain in the 360 library.

As for the new DLC, I’m playing it right now. It’s fun (there’s 4 challenge modes and several different maps to choose), but it’s geared heavily towards combat characters and it really isn’t a lot of content – but I’m sure $5 was as cheap as Microsoft would let Bioware go with it so it’s not too bad a deal.

  • Snucki

Oh Yeah! Thanks god, there was no Announcement.
I just sold my Copy of Mass Effect on eBay! -.-

  • Seleste

400 MSP? This is way too much, Microsoft! I’d only buy this if it were 200.

There, now this looks more like usual DLC announcements.

  • tabicat

Too little, too late. Sorry Bioware, but this game is almost two years old. I’ve already played it through three times, and I sold it a long time ago.

I’ll be first in line to buy Mass Effect 2, though.

  • aStrangeDisease

Why do you sell your games? OK I understand getting rid of crap, but Mass Effect? That one’s a keeper.

  • EldonTLH

Ah, good news indeed! Once I re-get Lost Odyssey out of the way, might very well go for a re-go of Mass Effect and once that is thoroughly done, this DLC will be quite interesting.

  • ToothlessFrog

Despite the sorry controls for the vehicle and some minor control issues overall, this game was awesome. Absolutely loved it. Great story, great choices, great ending. Nice to see more content for it, but it is a bit late. Can’t wait for Mass Effect 2!

  • eiVaL

im sorry but its been 2 years….2 YEARS since Mass Effect came out, i played it once, tried playing thru a 2nd time, but not even the achievements could entice me to play the same damn storyline again, especially since theres alot of time consuming missions an all the talking you have to do….i remember all the hype about being able to import your game into the next one, but its been so damn long im not even gonna import it cause its not gonna make a difference i wont remember who died an who lived or what choices i made, ill just play the 2nd one as the developers intend it to be played. they said DLC would come out after the first 1, well that first 1 came out just a few months after the game, which was 2 YEARS AGO.

BioWare really dropped the ball on this one, they need to look at Bethesda an how they properly spanned out the DLC an kept people interested, that’d be like Operation Anchorage coming out NOW, an then Pitt not coming out till 2011 an expect people to actually still be interested….ill still play the main game an loved the first one, but i aint renting ME1 just to get this DLC…

  • Mr Foxhound

Great surprise, I didn’t think it would be available until tomorrow.

  • Seleste

I guess I should’ve expected people would find something to whine about besides the price. Thank you, Internet!

  • Anonymous

@eIVaL – yeah yawn comes to mind, don’t you think bioware realised they should of done steady flowing content

  • Anonymous

hmm should i get it? i have Bringing Down the Sky

  • moocow21

After finishing all the challenges I have to say it’s not really worth the $5 unless you really need another reason to play Mass Effect again. Then again, “it’s only $5″, so you aren’t really taking much of a gamble with this one. That said, I still think this should have been free and Bioware could do A LOT better with DLC; but I guess they have too many other, more important, projects in the works.

  • bknight2k

Does anyone know how you get to the DLC?

  • DavidGX

Microsoft releases something decently priced? Holy shit.

  • UnarmedGorilla

Borrowed this game from a friend over a year ago so never bothered with the first DLC, however recently picked a new copy from best buy for $9.99. So now grabbing both pieces of DLC seems like really good excuse to give this excellent game another play-through. Cheers to Bioware!

  • NeoXDonut

    Finally some more DLC.

  • Warrengonline

    @ufcmike1
If you’re a gamer, you need to buy this game. Retail or DLC, you can’t fail.

    @eiVaL
Hmmm, yeh, Bioware should have spanned out some things, but Mass Effect is massive in all the choices of dialogue, actions, exploration, aliens side stories. I’ve beaten it once. My friends have beaten it like 5+ times over because they enjoy it so much. I enjoyed it once and look forward to playing it more – which planned when I thought I was getting laid off (Aug 2008 and Feb 2009) – well, neither of that happened and certainly went out the window. I’ll be returning to Mass Effect once I get my last two achievements in Too Human. It is a game you can just pickup and play, turn off and comeback when ever to feel like it without having to part-take in the campaign mode by playing co-op online with or without a friend. Mass Effect is just massively awesome for what it is.

  • AndyW360

Playing Mass Effect at the moment, I debated for a long time and then bought it cheap and I am so glad I did, its a great game, not sure if I will buy the DLC all depends on the time gap between me finishing Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 arriving, which is on my to buy list.

Major are you slipping why no mention of the WET demo, I was quite suprised to find it this evening especially as their was no mention on majornelson.com.

  • Ark Hunter

Hadn’t even heard about this. Surprise! 2-3 hours should only be 400 pts so that’s good I guess.

  • ufcmike1

@moocow21 AND @Warrengonline, thank you for the comments. I will be sure to purchase the game and give it a try. $10-20 for the game itself shouldn’t be a bad deal for the things I’m hearing about this game.

  • Ghost of Kirin

I’m huge Mass Effect fan! I read IGN’s review on this DLC, and apparently the score was quite dismal… So I’m holding out on it and might instead get either the N7 suit or the Alliance and the helmet for my Avatar, which by the way are the wrong colour!!! It’s supposed to be pink, not red! I love pink! :D

Oh, and Major, if you are reading this, there is an Avatar item bug with the Quicksilver Split Decision Tank Top. Wearing this tank top hides all of the wrist wear items you have on – be it a watch or sweat bands – which would otherwise be visible with any other clothing item showing the wrist.

  • Gambit3rd

@aStrangeDisease: we sell games we don’t plan to use anymore so we can afford new ones. It’s like playing for free: you buy a used game and if you’re lucky you can sell it back for the same price you bought it. I only keep sport, fighting and racing titles. DMC4, Prince Of Persia, Mirror’s Edge, Stranglehold… I sold ‘em all when I finished ‘em and unlocked a couple of missing but easy achievements. There are so much games that there is no much time to replay adventures you already finished.

Regarding Mass Effect, I started it some days ago. Like it but don’t feel likely to buy DLC(S) that only lasts 2-3 hours. So I will pass.

    Nice try, anyway!

  • MeS FEAR

i was excited to see this dlc out….so i was thinking about the first dlc which was very nice and fun…but this second dlc really sux…its just a challenge mode…nothing more…no new story chapter…this should be for free…i have paid 400 for this and i wished i wouldnt have bought it! I am really dissapointed bioware! Otherwise Mass Effect is a great RPG

  • Ai Kago

Pity there wasnt more downloadable content for this game. It was ideal as you could easily use all the unused planets. I think this was just added last minute because they have to release at least two downloadable bit of content for a game I think.

  • Anonymous

Thanks Bioware. Really great a game with DLC after 2 years on sale

  • MeS FEAR

To all people who are upset because the dlc came so late….dont worry! you dont miss anything! this is just a rip off…the first dlc is worth every penny but not this one! and i know what i am talking about cuz i am a fan of mass effect

  • Jonah Falcon

This DLC is basically Operation: Anchorage/Mothership Zeta. Very combat heavy.

  • wolfzero01

was looking forward to some more Mass Effect content, but I’m not sure about this one, I have a level 57 vanguard & a level 60 adept, would this DLC be to easy with these characters?

  • Warrengonline

    @MeS FEAR
IF you ARE a ‘true fan’ (like my crazy cousin who is CRAZY over Mass Effect and God of War) ANYTHING on BOTH of those games makes him happy (he even purchased the novels and are reading those). The description tells you it is a challenge mode AND that you have to be a Spectre to actually play the mission challenges. 400 MS is not much to pay for a Challenge Mode, really. But I do understand you totally about it (the NEW DLC: Pinnacle Station) not opening up more of the story. I can tell you that there IS a side-story for Mass Effect ONLY on the iPhone and iPod Touch (no, my cousin did not have the power to force me to buy it) but it does have a little story to it, but very short play through with one characters you will encounter in Mass Effect 2 – Jacob Taylor. Some reviewed it as being really good, not great, but good. While the action fans had very little praise. http://www.gamezine.co.uk/news/formats/mobile/iphone-s-mass-effect-jacob-s-story-first-screenshots-$1291623.htm – enjoy (if you have not already done so). Last note, the NEW DLC: Pinnacle Station is not a rip off, think of it like the VR Missions in Metal Gear Solid – only with far superior graphics, animation, sound and a challenge for a ‘real’ Spectre.

  • ottobusman666

I loved the DLC for Mass Effect. Both of them actually. New Missions, new achievements, and like a total of 5-6 hours more of gameplay. What’s not to love!
