Strategy? 800 Microsoft Points? Variety? All in one game? I must check this out!

  • MeridusBeta

800 points? Bargain. Many review sites have stated this is the pinnacle of Tower Defense games. It’s gorgeous, challenging, has a great storyline and is even funny in parts. I really was expecting this to be 1200 points.

  • gaz721

I will definitely be getting this. I have the demo for PC and love it. and only 800 points? sweeet.

  • Oatmeal25

I have this game on the PC (it cost twice as much and there’s more content in this version) and it’s a fun game. Hopefully it makes a graceful transition to the 360 and the controls are up to the task.

  • My Big Boss

Wait wasen’t this game surpose to came out last year?

  • judas invisible

    This game is a “must-have” and for 800 msp it’s a gift !!!

  • a peeking duck

    It’s good fun. :)

  • Juganawt

Doesn’t work for me. I purchased the full version straight away because I was a fan of the PC version, but when I try to load the 360 version it hangs on a white screen, and I’m not even able to bring up the guide – I have to power cycle the machine! Anyone else getting this issue?

  • My Big Boss

    a lot of fun =P

  • Anonymous

This game is pretty fun, I think I might pick it up. And how many trial games do you know that give you a gamerpic?

  • Lil Pips

I’m having the exact same problems as Juganawt. Every time I try to play this, it crashes with a white screen and I have to power down the 360. I’m having problems with Yo Ho Kablammo as well, so I suspect these might not have been released properly? (as in, live doesn’t think they should be out yet possibly? this was the same problem that the double d volleyball game had when released).

  • KiRiON

Trial works – Full Version = 360 freezes with white screen :-(

  • Maniac3000

Major: Why has an update released for Splosion Man lacking Avatar unlockables? The developers say Microsoft will not allow them to add the Avatar unlockables yet and I have no reason not to believe them. It is advertised as having them and as being the first game to do so.
And apparently the patch doesn’t fix the utterly broken online multiplayer, either?
Someone at Microsoft’s validation team seems to be asleep on the job. Still no fix for Vigilante 8, you can only play the full version on the console it was originally download on (or got the offline license transferred to), it will incorrectly function as a trial on another 360 even if you’re signed in to Live.
Then there’s the Splosion man multiplayer now the problems with this game.

Wow, this game is great! Being a fan of RTS games on the PC (C&C anyone?) I instantly fell in love with this game as soon as I played the demo. Easy to control, looks fantastic, great concept, easy to understand and best of all only 800MSP!

  • oO MG81 Oo

Going to check out the demo for this.

  • KiRiON

The issue seems to be associated with the authorization of you buying the game. If it is something that the game is doing wrong, we’ll definitely address it, but right now, it is hard to see if it is the purchasing system or the game.

A temporary workaround (as provided by “Lil Pips” on the Xbox.com forums) seems to be working for people:

Reboot 360, and sign out. Start the game as a trial and not signed in, then once you hit start, bring up the sign-in page and log in and choose your profile. The game should notice you own it, and switch to the full version.

It’s a great game, especially if you are a fan of Tower Defense games. Plus, the XBLA version has more content than the PC game. 800 points is a steal! :)

  • Jappe x360a

Got a trial and this is awesome, though I don’t have ms points right now can’t get the full game :/

  • Holesome

Thanks for the suggestion on how start Defense Grid as a trial (not logged) and then login after it’s started up (at the title page). Definately Defense Grid has a game bug when starting the game signed in as the gamertag who bought the game when on any console that the game was not purchased on/licensed to. The bug causes the game to lock at a white screen, which would normally be the XBL splash screen, and make a “there is an update” noise. Even the guide button will not respond and the 360 has to be powered off.
Unfortunately, before I found your postings, my son went and spent another 800points to purchase the game again to try and fix the problem. What a waste.

I have the PC version acquired from steam, and this game IS ADDICTIVE!!!!
Too bad there aren’t any additional level packs for it yet.

  • subVertNYC

Drat, I’m having the blank screen issue. I have to 360′s. I bought it on the one in my living room and it works fine on that one, but when I took my memory unit to the 360 in the basement to try to play it just hangs the whole machine. I’ll have to try that trial trick when I get home tonight.

  • Jonah Falcon

It’s a great game. Posted a review of it at GS, too:

Loved the demo – looks like it could be quite addictive trying to go for the gold medals
