800 points for W+G 2?…nice price…may even get both of these titles this week

  • Exu

And remember, if you have the other games then Sonic & Knuckles will lock on to them, so you can also play Blue Sphere, Knuckles in Sonic 2, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

  • Dubbington

It’s a shame the Sonic games have been quick ports rather than having some extra effort put in. They’re perfectly playable and I’ll be grabbing S&K, but it would’ve been nice if they’d gone that little bit further and made Knuckles in Sonic 1 workable. I guess that’s what we’ve got emulators and ROM hacks for.

  • Alex Atkin UK

Personally, I think its a shame SEGA never tried updating the original Sonic games with HD graphics and let you switch between the two like R-Type.

These two releases are both music haves though. I never could be bothered to play Sonic & Knuckles in the past, but achievements might just be enough for me to make the effort.

Its amazing how many things I will play which I would not have before. On PC it was always “argh, ran out of space so uninstalled it” or PC and console it was “argh, wheres the CD, takes too long to load, cant be bothered” but on 360 its so different. Arcade titles are “just there” and as it takes little time to load, I am motivated to boot up games I would not have been bothered with before.

I must also point out though that if we do not get a 500GB HDD released soon I will have the same problem as before, not enough space to had to uninstall. Fortunately for now I can uninstall some retail games, but I am already finding sometimes I do not play a game because its not installed and being late at night, I cant hear the game above the DVD drive noise so do not bother to play it. I also am unlikely to do video rentals without a bigger HDD as I would not uninstall a game JUST to rent a video, there would have to be enough free space and normally there isn’t.

Lode Runner for 800 next week? No excuse for the whiners to get it now!

  • El Cid

I was really hoping for Serious Sam HD. :(

  • Ozzzy189

any news when serious sam and bubble bobble are out ?

  • SummTrulli

No Wallace & Gromit this week ? that stinks -.- got new MSP just to DL that game tomorrow :(

  • MeridusBeta

ARGH! I knew it was too good to be true. No Wallace and Gromit after all. I mean, it’s been about 15 years since the first episode, who am I to want the second? Oh well owners of it on PC are probably getting bored of it by now anyway.

  • Exu

    @MACPH1ST0 – Yes there is. ;D

  • MACPH1ST0

@ Exu: Well there shouldn’t be since it’s a steal at 800 points, but I guess there will always be people who will find an excuse to complain about anything, no matter how good of a deal they’re getting.

  • DarkestHour00

That stinks. I was really looking forward to Wallace and Gromit this Wednesday. Oh well it will be worth the wait!

  • bknight2k

Was really looking forward to Wallace and Gromit.
Sonic & Knuckles the best that we can do?

Since the Summer of Arcade it been pretty lean.

  • metallicorphan

    so,just S+K this week?…..ewwww…i wanted W+G!!

  • Alex Atkin UK

Oh FFS I was REALLY looking forward to Wallace & Gromit even if it is poor value for money compared to Sam & Max. Just re-releasing a 15 year old game is a pretty poor week.

This blog has gone totally down hill this year. It seems we get less information than we used to. At least explaining why it was “pulled at the last minute” would have been nice. We can only assume a bug has been found but considering how late this is coming after the PC version I find it hard to believe it was not ready a long long time ago so all bugs should have been found.

To those wondering what I am on about RE pricing above:
Sam & Max, 6 episodes at 1600 points, ~267 points per episode. Wallace & Gromit, 800 points per episode.

The episodes for me at least seemed to be more or less the same length too. I’m surprised people did not pickup on this pricing anomaly especially as I can imagine the reaction if Sam & Max had been priced at 4800 points.

  • metallicorphan

Alex Atkin UK-yeah but lets be honest here, the first Sam and Max game, wasn’t really that funny compared to the first Wallace and Gromit game…actually it wasn’t funny at all(apart from when Max got in Sams way and he flung him up in the air,Lol)…i was very bored half way through and it has left me in doubts on whether i will be getting the next S+M game
