Marketplace, Xbox 360 Games On Demand By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson

  • wtli1988

Odd. I wonder why Far Cry 2 is not available to North America?

Battlefield for $20 is an alright price.

  • Mr Barrel Roll

Major, I don’t see pricing on the Far Cry 2 page. Doesn’t even look like the game can be downloaded right now…

  • What the Geek

Had Far Cry 2 been available in the US, I probably would have picked it up. The regional releases for games on demand seems a bit wonky to me.

  • Mr Barrel Roll

Wait, not available? Wow, this might have even been a purchase from me, if the price was right.

*Sympathize with rest of world time*

  • radink360

    At least BF2 wasn’t $30. That’s definitely a good thing.

  • SoulAssassin808

sucks doesn’t it? Now you feel how the rest of the world feels about 50% of XBL content

  • tootupontheroof

    way overpriced, yet again.

  • Blackbolt GT

Hmm until Microsoft start offering these games for £10 On Demand, why would I buy something that is £15 brand new in the shop and comes with a manual, nice game box, etc and can be sold on when I am bored with it? These on demand games are yours forever, you can never trade them when you complete or are done with it, this needs to be reflected in the price.

Microsoft, I promise you I will NEVER buy a game off your ondemand service until they’re competitive with prices in store.

  • Thiago123

So is EA going to add more servers for BF2MC? EA gets to run the the XBL games on their own servers to make you buy their newest sequel, and from all accounts they’ve pulled most servers for this game when BFBC came out. So this is a multiplayer only game that you can’t find a game online for…

  • Kyaizen

Only one I bought was Civilization: Rev. Neither of these interest me, as my brother has FC2.

  • StabaCadaver

Playing Far Cry 2 right now. It’s a huge game. 25 hours into it. I believe I’m 18% done. This is what Just Cause should have been in my opinion.

  • SalarymanDaishi

Battlefield 2: MC not available and Far Cry 2 carries the usual price tag of €30 ($43). Nothing new under the sun in Europe, it seems.

  • jblank74

No reason for Battlefield 2 to even be $20. First, nobody plays it anymore, which is a big problem when the focus of the game is its online play, and second, the game was basically a launch title. This would have been the perfect game to throw out there for $10, to get people that have been complaining about the service and its insane pricing, something to jump on to.

  • Wingman1977

FarCry2 was a huge flop. It has nothing to do with the original FC and shame on Ubisoft for slapping the FC name on that game.

  • Anonymous

whats the point in battlefield ?

its an online game and EA have turned the servers off !!!

  • VIGOR MORTIVORE

GoD are cheaper in dollars compared to euros on the marketplace! what a shame.

  • yolarrydabomb

Stop putting sucky tittles and let us buy Mordern Warfare 2 on Games on Demand

  • Freaky Priest

I spent about 300 Euros on DLC and XBLA games and even though I am always ready to spend money on games I don’t see a single reason for me to buy GOD. They are so ultra overpriced that I can’t believe anyone here in Europe ever bought one of them.

  • Drunk Ste

£20 for Far Cry 2 is insulting, I got it new for £25 a year ago and now you can pick it up for £10 from Play or HMV.

  • CMcCon342

I enjoyed Far Cry 2 (on easy). The game is tough and long, but the open ended nature of the combat was cool. So was the fire and weather.

  • Surly x Duff

I’m mildly interested in BF2MC. Can anybody who still owns the game confirm whether or not EA’s servers are up? I’d like to get factual info from somebody who knows for sure.

  • Velete

lolol, battlefield 2 is £2.99 at my local supermarket – with far cry being £10 their

and thats not even an actual gameshop!

  • foxhunt99

WTF FC2 is not available in NA?

And did you notice that all EA games are $20. Most of others are $30. Price is wrong.

  • rastansaga

Far Cry 2 is terrible, truly terrible.
    It’s a crap-tastic-bore-fest of a game.

  • wiirule111

Both games is decent, but damn overpriced. They are cheaper factory sealed in stores. ;-)

  • wiirule111

I already own both on disc..

  • Tyrant Dunn

Does anyone even still play battlefield?

  • JoBE242

Suggestion: Half price for gold members. That should boost sales for games on demand and xbox live.

  • Exu

    This crap’s still being posted?

  • snoopydoggy

So can you play this game online anymore?

  • Shonk

    The price i would buy
    is £5 for old titles
and £10 for 6 month old titles

im sure microsoft realise this already and are just catering to the 0.1% of mugs out there
    at the moment

as £20 for a game i can get new at retail for £5 is just crazy

  • WheelzthatKeelz

The thing about GoD is that they are overpriced – as most other users say – but the reason for that is that Microsoft doesn’t want to “take away from retail sales”. But here’s the problem with that Microsoft… Most of the these games you are putting up on GoD are ones I would consider buying from the comfort of my home at a cheap price but wouldn’t look twice at if I saw it cheap in a store… The convenience is the key, but paying $20 too much for convenience is a stupid ask and excusing yourself by saying that its because retail stores will take the punch doesn’t make sense seeing as I’m not going to buy it from them either way.

  • WheelzthatKeelz

Also, Battlefield 2 hardly has a lively online community at all now. I finished up the achievements a few months ago and I was hard pressed to find more than 2 servers, even then you get disconnected randomly and sometimes get blocked from finding servers at all even though you know there are some active.

  • mchiefvs360

Far Cry 2′s a good game, except they really should remove the reference to flying as the only flying is in a woefully designed hanglider that if shot, spins out of control.

  • xTNPx TWO GUN

FARCRY 2 has the WORST (imo) multiplayer EVER. The single player was so so (imo)

  • Sticky Owens

Bought BF2 a few weeks back for 8gbp and did not like it.

I couldn’t get on with the controls at all to be honest, i traded it in and got 5gbp back and bought it for the PC instead :)

  • Sticky Owens

Surly X Duff, they were up when i was playing it a few weeks back………

  • ooo Master ooo

There are NO servers for this game anymore. It was a great game in its day. But I tried to get a game a few weeks ago and could not. EA has pulled the servers offline :( So get it for the very average single player only.

I can’t see a price for this game in the Australian xbox marketplace. But I guess when it is available for download it will be overpriced at around $50AUD. This game is under $20AUD at most retail stores these days!

  • TANK 2old2play

I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy Battlefield 2. It’s a multiplayer game with a crappy single player experience thrown in just to have one. It relies on EA servers which EA regularly turn off for older games especially after sequels come out which now there’s 1943 and Bad Company with Bad Company 2 going to come out. I’d be surprised if there were very many servers left online to play BF2 on. And if there’s not a good multiplayer experience, the single player experience is worthless and not worth a buy. Putting Bad Company up on GoD for $20 would be a seller.

  • snoopydoggy

Nevermind, can’t download Battlefield in UK.
Shame, cause this would have been my frist 360 GoD (i have only bought Halo, when it was on offer last Xmas). £20, way more than online or in shops, but i loved this game so much 3 years ago i was gonna instantly impulse buy and download it! Gutted, i want it i want it i want it

  • HenkvdWeerdt

Two nice games into the games on demand. Maybe price is a bit of an issue: The BF2 is one of those early XBox360 games.

FarCry2 was much hyped. A nice game to play. Maybe an idea to put inside the game in games on demand all the DLC till date inside the same package at the same price?

  • ooo Master ooo

At the request of a fellow Live Member, I put the game (BFMC) in again today, to test the EA servers and the number of people playing after release on GoD. I actually got a game :) but it had very few players :(

When I went to look at how many conquest games there were, I found 2 ranked, and 3 non-ranked. So while it is not going to have anywhere near the number of people as there were playing online in its heyday. BFMC does have some online capability.

  • CosmicSea

I just bought BattleField 2 MC today , and Yes SERVERS ARE UP and running nicely. Was a game i played so much when it was release, and i just miss it too much,to me its a great online action game. There’s not as many players as it used to be, but with GoD i hope others like me will buy it and we’ll all have a fun warfare…
