Having played the DD games on PC, I must say that it really does not translate into that great a console game. From the little bit I saw in the demo it looks like a lot has been stripped out of the game and the controls are frustrating. This really is a “point-and-click” style game. I wonder if Plants vs Zombies will suffer from the same control issues with the port over to the console world.

  • UnarmedGorilla

On the plus side though… kudos to MS for the awesome deal of the week and the Peggle Nights add-on. 3 on 3 NHL is a BLAST w/ friends or online, and Peggle Nights will certainly have me spending copious amounts of time watching that little ball do its thing as it bounces from peg to peg in an effort to successfully achieve some ‘ode to joy’ glory!

  • Sneeches

Gyromancer is a lot of fun. Gonna go get a points card today and grab this game after work

  • Exu

No thanks, I paid a third of that for Puzzle Quest so 1200 for a clone isn’t really appealing.
Also, the fact a 240pt add-on is up for Gyromancer on release day is frankly disgusting.

  • biggadeesanch

On a seperate note, am I the only one who finds it strange that PSN folk have got Call Of Duty: Classic, while XBL users are left twisting in the wind?

  • Anonymous

Thank you Square Enix for releasing the DLC the same day as the base game. You just saved me $15. Because any company that releases a $3 add on for an already overpriced game is simply not worth my time to support.

  • Anonymous

    or already playing it :P

  • biggadeesanch

@Skull One USA – Yeah I agree with that as far as people who got the code from the hardened edition of MW2 goes, but PSN users can download CoD: Classic on it’s own and 360 peeps can’t.

  • Ark Hunter

Why is there cover art on this page for Gyromancer but not on the marketplace page?

  • LooneyJetman

Gyromancer does look like a clone of Puzzle Quest, which I’ve been playing a fair bit recently.

Whatever happened to Pipemania for Live Arcade?

  • ROADDOGlive

Diner Dash looks like a Dashing good time…….Sold!

  • BillyMagnumFOD

    YA peggle nights is out!

  • ibelievein93x

I want Plants vs Zombies and Perfect Dark!

  • wiirule111

Since i still play Puzzle Quest, i wont buy this..especially not since there DLC is out on day 1 already..making it a quite expensive game. :( The game content cant be that much either because its only 160.MB or so. This is a rip-off.. 1440 points? Its only a clone of Puzzle Quest which i bought for 400 points.

  • Gambit3rd

Diner Dash seems to be fun but it need fast controls and, no, the control interface used doesn’t sim to fit very well. Demo has not catched me.

Gyromancer is “similiar” to Puzzle Quest but they are different in some ways. RPG component seems to be really weak in Gyro. No mana, I can’t really choose how to use magic/attacks, XP is so ridicolous. What can I do when I level up? What role i can Play? I can only choose my beasts, not how to spec them. And all of this for 1200 points. Puzzle Quest, at the same price (PQ was out for 1200 MS Points) was a better deal. 3 times better than this Square Enix lol-RPG. Now that it’s 800 Points (I bought it for 400!), there is really no match. PQ is better in evert aspect.

Only good thing for today is Peggle Night DLC. I’m going to buy it soon: only 400 MS Points for a really good add-on.

Next week PEGGLE will be on DEAL OF THE WEEK, so buy the full game next week.

Oohh! Peggle Nights is out. I’ll be picking that up tonight. I’ll give DD a chance too, but peggle was awesome!

  • Jonah Falcon

So, Gyromancer is Puzzle Quest, except instead of doing Bejeweled, you do Bejeweled Twist. Cool. ;)

  • Gambit3rd

No multiplayer in Gyromancer, are you guys sure it’s a good deal?

  • Tyrant Dunn

    Lame.

  • trickybuz93

I looked at Gyromancer. Saw the price (1200 MSP). Saw the DLC (on release day!). Saw the price. (420 MSP). Walked out and decided not to support the game.

  • Anonymous

Just feel the need to echo comments of others:
1200 MSP for a Puzzle Quest clone that has another 420 MSP day 1 DLC?
    No multiplayer component?

I knew Square Enix was becoming greedy but I didn’t suspect they had become THIS greedy. Thanks but no thanks.

  • Anonymous

Sorry, I mistyped above: 240 MSP for the map addon. Dyslexia strikes again.

Either way, it’s still blatantly greedy and, as a whole package, is not worth nearly 1500 MSP for the “complete” game.

  • mchiefvs360

At the moment, I just want Perfect Dark and Call of Duty Classic. Now.

  • xfoolsgoldx

Diner dash is not like any other game i have on xbox360 and im loving it.This is a fun game the whole family can play and we are all addicted to DD in my house. Is their more games like this on xbox, wii,ds and touch? I would like more games like this.
I also played this online and it works a treat. If you have not played this game and would like a change from your usual fair, then download DD.

    9/10 addictive.

  • VirulentDiurnal

Howabout some REAL arcade games rather than this rubbish. 3rd week in a row and haven’t bought an “arcade” game.

  • wiirule111

I used to buy an arcade game every week, but the last week there have been mostly crap. I think the last i bought was Zombie Apocalypse.

I wanted to buy all the Taito games, but didnt buy any of them because each of them had 1 major mistake.

  • ElektroDragon

If ONLY it were a Puzzle Quest clone! Sadly, it does come anywhere near the quality or fun of Puzzle Quest. Gyromancer is just a spotty, rushed cash grab imitation of the genre PQ created. I’d pay 400, at most.

  • bknight2k

Diner Dash seems to be on the wrong platform to me.
It is a great touch screen game.

  • Mystakill

    Day-1 DLC + overpriced game = FAIL!

  • HenkvdWeerdt

Want to try the Diner Dash game.
Gyromancer is just another Bejeweled clone.

  • Thief000

    I agree with Mystakill.

Next week better have Serious Sam HD (as it’s coming out op PC on Nov 24) and maybe Call Of Duty Classic. I need me some new schmups 2 plz!

  • Thief000

Doom 2? Perfect Dark? When, when, when? Please give us an answer!

  • EveofLight

Dinner Dash is pretty cool, my daughter likes it so I might get it for her.

  • Gytis

hey guys I’m buying a pre-owned jasper today ant it has a lot of XBL games including the Gyromancer .. Is it any good ? Thanks

  • Chambece

Just bought Diner Dash, and it doesn’t seem to work at all if your gamer profile is stored on a memory card – just says can’t save achievement, then no space on storage device and loops. Think I have 16M free on there, but no option to save to any other device….

Hope a patch is out soon!
