This is the true description below

    Wow, pretty harsh comments.

I haven’t played the demo yet, but previews haven’t been bad.

  • Ark Hunter

    Wow. That’s sad to hear.

  • a peeking duck

Eh, it’s nothing spectacular, but also not all that bad. It feels a bit bland but that might just be the fault of the demo itself.

  • THEICEMANCOMETH

I had some fairly high hopes for the game too, but after playing the demo? Not so much.

  • r3dreck

Be a good $15 game maybe.

  • BROKENRADIO541

I played it for 5 minutes and turned it off. The jetpack was fun when I wasn’t flying around in circles like an idiot. And to think I was hyped up for this game.

  • AutomaticOcelot

Okay I’ll try to do better than a one-liner.

One of the shortest demos I’ve played in a while. Unfortunately it didn’t affect my opinion of the game at all. Light bloom is nice, flying feels alright, guns are pretty standard. I’d play more if there was more.

I will repeat that putting you on the first level is the most boring choice a demo can make, particularly with a talk-me-through tutorial. Spoilers are a given since you’re demoing the game anyway, so that’s a lame argument. “Who’s that wimpy guy in the skirt?” is the only question that came to mind here.

Mid-way through the game is where most titles hit their stride and fun factor. Castle Crashers did it too, the demo did not impress at launch, but it got really good word of mouth once they patched the bugs. All those people playing to this day probably aren’t sticking around the first level.

Treat the kind of audience these “core” titles aim for with a little respect. Abilitease and badassery are what get the juices flowing. Hey guys we already know how to fly a video game jetpack, and if we can’t fly yours, maybe your control scheme is too complicated? Just sayin. Seeing still photos of the vertical cover system doesn’t mean a thing to me. I want to see some insane camera activity and get a little tingle.

So yeah, dud demo. Waiting for the reviews.

  • mchiefvs360

Oh, well, no demo for me, I live in Australia.

  • Codename6

Played like an XBL Arcade game.

  • Aliasalpha

Oh well, unknown game with no demo means I’m not going to take a chance on it. By the sound of it I’m not missing much

  • Aliasalpha

Oh look, I can get the demo on the playstation store. That kills the idea of it being some weird legal thing or the game not having been rated here yet. Suppose the dart thrown at the “annoy people from this country for no real reason” random decision globe managed to land here

  • L0rN

THe game should rename itself from Dark Void to “A void”

  • Apocalypse1309

Will be “A-Voiding” this game… had high hopes but didn’t like the demo. Played like an arcade game. Jetpack is fun for the first 5 minutes, then it’s annoying as you’re trying to shoot down drones. Will spend my money someplace else, like Mass Effect 2.

game’s horrible. this is what Capcom is releasing now? make another Onimusha! Breath of Fire! Final Fight!

  • LegendaryMSN

i’m sorry but this game sucks!

  • L0ng5h0t

Although this demo was far too short to get a full flavor for the game, It was not so horrible as so many of the other comments here would lead you to believe. Much as Bioshock was the spiritual successor to System Shock 2, Dark Void is the spiritual successor to Crimson Skies. I’m still looking forward to the full game. The environments are huge and beautiful, with the only problem I felt with the demo, was at the very beginning, where you are starting so high that your immersion level is nil and the edges of the game world are visible. Coming down a few hundred feet, all that is forgotten.

I would have preferred a longer demo, but with the game only a few days away, I’ll forgive them this time.

  • Descmondb

Downloaded it and then deleted it all in about 30 mins span!! C’mon Capcom! You’ve got to get back to your Wonderyears!!

  • Lanmanna

    @Descmondb
    SF4 says hi.

  • wiirule111

I tried it, and i wont even buy it when its a budget game.

  • aStrangeDisease

I loved it! You kids just can’t fly. The flight controls are just like Crimson Skies. Awesome quick maneuvers and UFO skyjacking. This game has a lot to offer. I want to buy it as soon as I’m finished with Mass Effect 2.
