Wow this snuck up on us, didn’t think it would be out until next week! Between this and all the other triple A titles (I just now got AC2), looks like MW2 will be on the back-burner for a good while. Can’t wait to get this, I just hope that EA actually planned this time and has enough servers…This demo will be huge, lets avoid another 1943 launch debacle.

Why is the AC2 DLC costing 99999 points?

AC2 DLC pricing is typical error prone. When is LIVE pricing going to be changed to reflect actually currency, points = stupid unless 150 points mean $1.50 etc.

Anyhow I missed time with their DEMO on PS3, I hope someone can share there comparison and opinions regarding what’s different better or worse between them.

Also can anyone compare this to how MW2 plays? Is this more realistic, especially as far as weapon damage is concerned?

I was terrible at first but I got the hang of the game. I haven’t played Bad Company 1 for a while.

Yay, EA/DICE do what they do best: release a game (demo in this case) but fail to have the servers working and then blame it on the users’ connections.

Heck yeah! Demo time! And I am stuck at work… CRAZY!

I’ve tried to get a match all morning, their POS servers aint up yet apparently.

Can someone help me with a problem on the online marketplace. Whenever I press Download to Xbox 360 and the offer pane pops up it comes up with a “Sorry, this page is unavailable” dialog. What is wrong!?!?

We’re aware of the issues some people are having trying to play the demo. People are working on it, stay tuned.

I got into a game after a couple tries. Extremely laggy. If they cant even get a demo right, good luck on the game.

Interesting to see if this still lacks the basic functions we’ve come to expect from a battlefield game on the pc for half a decade. Locking your squad, map zooming and not autobalancing your mates to the opposing team come to mind. Or how about using the THREE leftover directions on the dpad for SOMETHING, like I dunno back/forth seat switching instead of having to pump the single seat button over and over! AAARGGHH!

Of course there was a time when I could not fathom being without a server browser.. nowadays its join, lags, quit, join, laaaag g g g gs, quit, join ok-ish, play.. by yourself, cause your friend cant fit in the server, and even then its an EA server somewhere in the UK.. packet loss loss loss p ppp p p p loss loss losss.

Such an amazing engine and studio.. such a nerfed game BF:BC was.

ive played it 4 hours now and all i can say is wow!!….the sound is amazing.Cant wait to get it. Wouldnt be a suprise to see it on top when it comes out

Just downloaded it.

Played for about 30 minutes tonight, this is NOT Modern Warfare 2. Much slower walking/running, no prone as far as I could tell but all that said, I Like it! The sound is really cool as others have commented, great little comments randomly come up but that was also in the first game. Snipers seem a little overpowered but they do always to me because I suck at being one. Anyway, looks good, certain rental, not sure on the buy yet though, need more play time. Get this and have some fun, great change of pace from MW2.

I played 5 hours tonight…wow…. But I really do enjoy it. At first I was very iffy since I died constantly and had no clue what was going on, but over time I started figuring out how it all worked. The medic class and Engineer class are by far the best. You get the same amount of points to revive a downed team member as you do if you kill someone from the enemy team. So as a medic I just hung around my guys and rushed to then as they died, I managed to quickly get to first place on the team in terms of points.

Wasn’t taken by this one (or the first). The controls were easy enough to figure out, the graphics were okay (but nothing to shout about). I played for a bit but decided that I didn’t dig this one, much like I didn’t dig the first one.

Played it hoping for a new FPS that would get me from stop playing MW2. I didn’t like BF:BC and I don’t like this one either. I played it for 30 minutes hoping it would get better. I like/dislike how far you spawn from opponents, unlike MW2′s crappy spawn system, it just takes a while to get to an attack point if there isn’t a vehicle to use. It’s really polished and is a great game, I just don’t have fun playing it.

My only complaint with the Battlefield games has been the hit detection. I’ve always thought it was just off. And the gamemodes seemed to be lacking. I’m looking forward to Hardcore mode as well as some of the new multi-player modes, but as far as the demo goes, it’s just more of the same.

I had high expectations for this one and I stood away from media previews to avoid the hype but man, this demo was one of the biggest dissapointments I’ve got lately with videogames.

IMHO the 1943 arcade release is far better (and funnier to play) than BF BC2 wich improved nothing from the previous installment but kept the lacking of stuff like others here mentioned. My god, I preffer even the BF 2142 (futuristic take on BF for PC, an oldie) than this one!

It really feels like those old school pc mods and free games (warrock anyone?) of the old days… MW2 was a beefed version of its precessor (and don’t like it that much), now this buttugly BF BC 0.5… Lord, give us a good Medal of Honor, please.

Snipers are a bit overpowered. I suck as a sniper too and I was killing people left and right.

Well i certainly like this demo, and will be getting the game.
Correct me if im wrong, but isnt the point of a demo before release not just to help sell the game, but to help fix any problems the game has (online problems for example??) before release date?

If you dont have fun while playing this, you played far to much MW2 and play it wrong. You can’t just run around a kill guys left and right or camp somewhere the whole round. Grow up and learn what a good game is -> play BC2 ^^

I’m not gonna play the demo much, but I did get confirmation that I’m happy that I pre-ordered this game and already paid for it.

It will be a breath of fresh air. I experienced ZERO lag. Can’t believe it. The last BF game was a complete lag festival. Instead of July 4th, it was Lag 4th.

All I kept thinking while playing the last BF game was ‘man if they get rid of the lag this would be the most fun game I have ever played’ – but holy crap the lag got WORSE over time!

Not to mention all the ‘cannot connect to EA online’ errors.

Man, if this game doesn’t have connection and lag problems, it WILL BE AMAZING. Can’t wait for March.

Since when do you have to register with a company to try out a demo? A beta trial I can understand, but a demo?

It’s your connection then, since I’ve played long enough to get every weapon and I haven’t been in a laggy game yet, except for when I couldn’t join my friend. Except for that friend is in UK, and I can’t connect to him on Halo or CoD, either.
