Free Bing T-Shirt for your avatar

What do you get when members of the Xbox LIVE team hang out with members of the Bing team?  Good ideas…that’s what.  The next time your open your browser, swing over to Bing and and when you enter the magic search term, you’ll end up with the results of your search…PLUS a very special gift for your Xbox LIVE Avatar from the two teams.     Redeem the code that you see on the search results.

    It will will give you two codes(Men/Women) just redeem it in the marketplace. Wish it was a google shirt :) Sorry major still not sold on bing. Should have kept the name live.com

    I got a code for it on the Bing search page and then just copied and pasted it in the code redeem link on Xbox.com

    The secret is that you have to set your locale (top right corner) to United States. Ugh!

    Just checked… you need to use the US site. Click on the country name on the top-right to change it, then pick United States – English.

    Australia doesn’t work – even if it’s bing.com, you need to do this procedure for it to work.

    You have to enter the code that shows up as the first returned item. You have to enter that in the XBL Market place “redeem code” area.

    Yeah I see no code anywhere.. So it’s only in the US? Why does it never specify -_- lol

    Yeh this isn’t available outside the U.S

    I can confirm the codes given do work outside the us.

    I have asked the Bing folks to make it so you won’t have to change your region…but until then it’s only a couple of clicks ;)

    I can’t think of a time when I’ll ever feel the need to advertise bing to other Xbox users, but still, free stuff, can’t complain.

    Er…people, the codes worked for me and I didn’t even need to swap the region. As soon as you use major nelson’s link you are redirected to bing’s search… don’t be so LAZY (can’t believe it’s me who is saying that) and click any of the search results. They are forum entries showing the code so don’t need anything else. Can’t believe people didn’t figured it out, it was so natural I didn’t even noticice.

    Besides, thats nice, not the gear itself but the fact advertising is finally done right. Paste a texture into an avatar item, give away some codes and dink! you got lots of traffic! Companies that have any presence on the internet should do the same instead of charging for adidas sneakers for your avatar. Same goes for game developers and so… give away stuff so people get hooked to your newsletter, noticing every game you release to the market.
