Marketplace, Xbox 360 Games On Demand By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson

  • Arsenic13

1 of these games arent like the others.

  • moocow21

$30 for Hitman? Didn’t that come out in 2006? Eek! Anyway, I’m hoping to see Left 4 Dead 1 come up on Games on Demand sometime soon.

  • CALZ88

shocked to see KR: AI Encore 2 in all regions ? didnt come out in the UK before, and the link to the download only works on s market place not uk :( some good songs on there aswell

  • BeeDizz

Hitman Bloodmoney is a great game. Definitely thought about a GoD purchase on this one. Can’t convince myself to pull the trigger on that price though. Tempting though.

  • SilentHunter382

    €20 for Hitman. Very tempting.

Also thanks Microsoft for not releasing American Idol here in Ireland. :)

  • Kyaizen

$30 is a bit too steep for me. Otherwise, I would of picked up Hitman, need to play through it =p

  • Veive257

Where is the news about Bioware’s MMO coming out in the fall?

    http://social.bioware.com/brc/1688078

  • Haggard Demon

I have noticed some real inconstancies with the region availability with these games on demand! Please, if a game can’t be purchased in the UK then let us know in your blog. I know it doesn’t take long to find out, but it would save some disappointment none-the-less.

That being said, I don’t care much for American Idol, I am referring to Fallout 3.

  • Velete

Can buy all 3 of these games for less than the price of a single GoD purchase…

  • My Big Boss

    Still no fallout 3…

  • ElektroDragon

What is the Deal of the Week?

  • Mcmax3000

Typo in the title… Should be UFC 2009, not UC 2009.

That said, UFC is the only game on the list I would have any interest in and being a huge UFC fan, I’ve owned that since it launched.

  • chiruno99

Now I can finally play American Idol. Thanks Microsoft for never getting your priorities right again.

    @ElektroDragon
It’s Cyber Troopers Virtual-On Oratorio Tangram.

  • Exu

You keep releasing them, MS. We’ll keep telling you they’re bad or overpriced or both.
£15 for Hitman is a start, it’s good but it’s not right.
    -
Yeah, deal of the week is AWESOME. I mean, Virtual-On.

  • Twisk

    Overpriced? Maybe. Bad/unworthy titles? Maybe.

But really, does it matter? I mean, where the hell can you put these? We’re not allowed to have external hard drives. Imagine you’re entire collection is made up of these digital only versions, and you can only fit two or three on your hard drive at any given time (and yet you might own 15 to 20 titles)… any time you feel like playing something that’s not on your hard drive you have to re-download it. Every time.

Is common sense not part of the equation here?

  • sleepydumbdude

As with 90% of the other games on demand priced at about 10 dollars too much.

Also I have no problem buying games on demand when they are priced around the same as retail. Bought Bioshock on it. Maybe one day a new games will out the day they are in retail. I would love to purchase a new online multiplayer games like the next Call of Duty, Left 4 Dead or Battlefield. That way I don’t have to get off my lazy ass and put the disc in when I want to play multiplayer.

  • AnEternalEnigma

$30 for Hitman: Blood Money?! That game is over four years old. You guys have totally lost your minds. I can drive 10 minutes to Gamestop and buy a used copy for about $5.

  • The Bill Payer

I just don’t understand the pricing of these On Demand games. Who’s pricing them, Microsoft or the developers? Regardless of whomever they’re outragous! I mean $30 for a four year old game like Hitman? I just can’t comprehend it…

  • CARNAGE RULES

    @AnEternalEnigma

WOW!! Thats brilliant. You finally figured out that you can buy these at a store near you. Now, if only you had $5.00 to spend. I guess you idiots will never learn. They don’t have to lower the price.

    @Twisk

Maybe, if you’re still using a 20gb hard drive but, who still uses a 20gb. hahahaha, thats very funny. I think my 250gb can hold a little more than that.

  • Anonymous

I don’t care much for games on demand, they do seem overpriced… I’ve only bought Burnout Paradise. Never played Hitman but I’m sure it’s good.

  • Neo X5

Why do people insist on comparing these prices to USED game prices? The games that are listed under Games on Demand are based on the MSRP (NEW) of that particular title.

  • Misaki Ki

Nothing amazing there, although Hitman is the best out of the lot.

Anyway, people often insist because a lot of cost is missing from the total package. Shipping, packaging, manuals, and the like. People are still getting charged for that it seems.

hey got a question “to anyone” on this “because not sure” is the game link by gamer tag or once on hdd can i just transfer it to anther console? with gt of course. thinking on getting hitman and want to take my hdd with me to tahiti for summer.. my cousin has U.S console ver he brought from here but internet is expansive there pay per gig bit i think its 10-20 bucks and plus 50 mo thats why… or should i buy the disk “dont want too, hate carrying it on plane…”

  • CARNAGE RULES

Its linked to the gamertag and console you purchased it on. Example if you have 2 xbox’s and take your gamertag to the 2nd one for the purchase you can play it on that one with any gamertag AND play it on ANY xbox that you have SIGNED IN on to live with. I hope that makes sense to you.

  • Lucky 13 X

As Neo X5 said. You guys should not compare these prices to used or sale prices that you can find at some retailers.

The best gauge to compare the GoD price to is the MSRP price that you can find on the publisher’s website, if they still sell their own title.

  • Dishwasher

I would hold off on UFC 2009 undisputed the sequel comes out in may..

  • CMcCon342

I played the “crud” out of Hitman Blood Money. It has been literally “years” but I’d be happy to plunk down about 15 (even $20 if I was feeling crazy) to own it again and replay it. $30 is disgusting. The game is old. Sorry. Make a new one. You know the developer is tracking sales of this over priced piece to see how the next one will do (they just laidoff 15% of their staff), but this isn’t a fair test. I may not pay $30 to replay blood money again (it was the best in the series though), but I will 100% pay full price for a new Hitman (don’t do some Arcade game, a la Tomb Raider). Who is with me? Nothing but a true, full priced, sequel will do.

  • DavidGX

$30 for hitman… holy cow. You guys really outdid yourselves with stupidity this time.

  • SeeUInTheFuture

I want UFC, that game is awesome!

  • RyuZX101

*sigh* I sadly agree with far too many of you. I was really excited to see Hitman: Blood Money on this list until I saw that price. Seriously, $19.99 and I wouldn’t have thought twice—the game is well worth that, even though I’ve long since 100% it. $29.99 though? Not a chance. Thanks anyway…

  • MeS FEAR

i have bought ufc 2009.Will buy UFC 2010 too…i think the price is fair in microsoft points. Great Game!
