    That being said, is Game Room’s listing based on people who downloaded the (cr)app or is it based on individual titles a’la Game Night?

    My, My Napster how quickly opinions change before MW2 it was “ZOMG MP40 OVERPOWERD TRYARCH GO TO HELL MW2 WILL RAPEZ THE POS WAW IS!!!1!” now MW2 is being called the POS and everyone is looking to Tryarch for redemption and we all know that will change when CoD:Nam comes out and the cycle will continue.

    @LifeSong: I know how you feel. :) I hope I get this mostly right, probably not perfect (wish it was in the FAQ!):

    Top LIVE Titles means games that are played while Unique Users are logged in to LIVE. Single, Multi, Arcade, Indie, whatever. It’s what people are playing each week.

    When it says Full Versions Purchased that means sales NOT Unique User plays. Literal Major is literal. ;) It’s what people are buying each week. Trials HD is already a Million Dollar seller, and each week it’s still in the list.

    The two lists translate to mean: Game Room titles are the #1 biggest volume sellers for that week, and the #4 most played that week.

    When an Arcade title is in the Top list it’s a big deal. If the Top LIVE Titles list went to 50 or 100 we’d likely also see Perfect Dark, Toy Soldiers, Trials HD, etc.

    I do find it interesting that Major’s said next to nothing about his account getting hacked. It’s interesting.

    The Game Room and Hasbro Family Game Night listings are yet another reason why we need a Top DLC Purchased list. The games for both of those titles are technically considered DLC, so we’ll never know which individual games are selling the best within those titles until a Top DLC list is posted.

    I can see why you would dislike Halo, your by far the worst player I’ve ever come across.
    Ranked Kill/Death-6,419/12,861, more kills with the ghost than the Battle Rifle, and 81 experience for 3,243 games. Call of Duty is probably better for you since it takes no skill.

    It’s a bit disheartening to see the trends in the Indie section.

    Someone makes a popular Massage game = tons of massage games
    Someone makes a popular Zombie game = tons of zombie games
    Someone makes a popular “Impossible” game = tons of impossible games
    Someone makes a popular “Avatar” game = tons of avatar games.

    I predict before the end of the month we are going to see “Impossible Zombie Avatar Massage”

    wow, that is hilarious, I don’t know a single person with stats that bad, haha.

    Also wanted to point out why Halo is still popular, because I can go and check out your stats, my stats, my friends stats, whereas on MWF2 you can only do it in game, and they are nowhere near as detailed. Not to mention theater, in Halo you can go back and watch your games, then again FourZeroTwoIW might not want to watch them, haha, and forge too, you can go and create your own unique map, it s frickin awesome, thats why so many people like it, not to mention its MP is still fun after all these years. Halo Reach is making so many improvements over Halo 3 its insane. It’ll top MWF2, no question. Not that I don’t like MWF2, I love it! I’m just defending Halo from that idiot who is consistently ragging on it, even though he didn’t do it last week, I thought maybe he had enough people telling him off, guess not.

    The indie games trend is always following whoever made the popular game burrying the really good games such as Shoot 1up. That said as soon as an origional SHMup idea got popular SHMups will be appearing in no time. Exaclty what Champipple D said.

    Game Room i can see disappear from the top 10 (maybe even top 20) within a few weeks time….for me that was quite disappointing…don’t know what i was really expecting from it, but i just didn’t really like it much.

    Anyway, when XBL for Xbox1 games get shut off, any chance of a top ten each week for G4WL Major?….probably the best thing to fill the Xbox1 spot, even if it’s just a top 10 and not a top 20 list. Would be nice to have another list based on UU’s, and G4WL seems like the best candidate :)

    How many games hold Top spots?…Not many… even more so after a year.

    FourZeroTwoIW is just a little kid with a big mouth… don’t pay any attention to him and he’ll stop and if that doesn’t work Halo Reach will put him in his place. Don’t bother getting angry over his comments, why be angry?

    But just for a little revenge and lols… when Halo Reach dominates the charts… lets have a party EVERY week here on the comment section :3

    Halo 3 is truly an extremely well done game… there was a thread on Xbox.com forums that asked if you had to choose 1 game to play forever… I chose Halo 3.

    I’d like to pick up on the point raised by Champipple D and run with it.

    I think the current flood of Avatar games is a real potential problem. A surge in games along a theme is one thing, and there is nothing wrong with people being inspired by others as a general rule, but the trend in these more recent Avatar games tends to be that there is little to no actual refined game play in them.

    People are in such a rush to get games out there with Avatars that there is little to no attention given to the gameplay while other games with much more work in them are lost in the crowd. For anyone looking for fun games to play and coming to Indie Games for the first time (looking through the top 20) the early impresions can’t be good. So is it bringing down the rep of the whole indie xna scene?

    Will people come to expect that Avatar games will offer nothing new, thats how I’m starting to feel about them already. Will the good folk at Xbox come to regret making the Avatars available to developers? I hope not.
