Marketplace, Xbox 360 Games On Demand By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson

  • rogXue

$30 for halo 3? PASS… for $20 I would have probably picked this up. Make it $30 with all dlc attached and I’m in

  • Rogue Gamer 23

wait aren’t 3 of them already there in game of Demand, because i do remember seeing carbon, sonic the hedgehog, and saint row.

  • SalarymanDaishi

@Rogue Gamer 23: They’re now available in regions where they were previously unavailable.

  • Exu

    NOPE. UH-UH. DON’T THINK SO.
Bit pricey, not to mention the selection apart from Halo 3 is poor. Plus, Halo 3 runs worse when installed so does the GoD version get around that?

  • ninshua

Phantasy Star Universe on Demand already SEGA!!!

  • Blaz0

First of all the prices on these games are way too expensive. Take a lesson from Steam and offer your customers discounts on your wares from time to time. Secondly, I would never buy a game on demand after Microsoft killed original Xbox support. In the future, once they finish supporting the 360, how would I be able to download my purchased game? I think that digital downloads is turning out to be one of the worst plans for the consumer ever. The Marvel Ultimate Alliance DLC is a perfect example of this. Great for the seller as they get their money. Just look at the virtual arcade, let’s make our customers re-purchase their arcade games they already bought because of our shiny, new packaging.

  • Macdory

LOL – same week after week – they are just overpriced … check a price comparison site (will take 2 mins max) …

  • Haggard Demon

Some clarity on whether or not they got past the install issues on Halo 3 would be nice. No official word from anyone on this issue so far!!

Also, £20! I think £15 would have been a better idea. I would have grabbed it for that price.

  • ChewyNoodle

Didn’t Halo 3 recommend NOT being installed to the Hard Drive because of the way its cache worked?

  • The Bill Payer

Halo 3 and both Mythic map packs downloaded, time to get back into some serious Halo 3. :D

Still hoping to see The Orange Box, Quake 4, Gears of War 2, Modern Warfare and Assassin’s Creed 2 for download. :(

Dear Major Nelson and Xbox Live Marketplace team,
I own Halo 3 on disk and love the game but there’s this one game that I would gladly pay for a digital download copy out of all others:
Phantasy Star Universe is highly recommended for Games on Demand release by its user base and their strong support with good reasons as shown at Xbox Forums-Wish List and Feedback section here> http://forums.xbox.com/32101261/ShowPost.aspx

Overall Live user rating for Phantasy Star Universe shown here>
    http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802534507e3/?of=1
We feel confident that this game would do comparatively well on GoD service with fair price range for existing users and new comers alike.

Please do consider above suggestion in your future line up for new release titles(Hope you received my email with more details I sent earlier to Major@xbox.com).

More game info on Xbox.com for anyone interested:

    Official game site:

*Btw, After Burner Climax on 4/21 Live Arcade will be an instant buy from me. Keep ‘em coming, SEGA and Xbox Live!!

  • Spilner1001

Who exactly doesnt have Halo 3 by now? If GoD had more of the harder to find games i might be persuaded to purchase, but not now

  • Misaki Ki

Needs more Phantasy Star Universe on games on demand.

    …I demand it!

  • chiruno99

Would getting Sonic on demand ACTUALLY fix the LONG LOADING TIMES?

  • metallicorphan

LOL,i just bought Halo 3 in the Classics range for £5 brand new from GAME of all places
    -
good to see Saints Row is only £14.99,that’s better than £20 anyway

  • Toothball

I’d also be very keen to see Phantasy Star Universe on Games on Demand.

  • katsukiyakisoba

Yeah guys, PSU at the lowest price point for all regions would be awesome. Do it quickly!

  • trickybuz93

I don’t get why people always complain about the pricing. It’s not too far off from buying a new copy at the store. Also, why do people compare GoD prices with used game prices? Common sense tells you they are not the same.

  • mccalejk

@trickybuz93, the games are typically $30 when you can buy them for $20 or less. That is a 50% increase which is a lot. And I’ve never seen anyone compare them to used game although it’s still a valid comparison.

  • Lucky 13 X

Halo 3 at $19.99 would be a no-brainer purchase, but I can understand the price being the standard Platinum Hits $29.99.
    .
Hopefully a future Deal of the Week will put it near $15 and help ensure EVERY 360 owner & lover of action games has it in their library. :-)

  • Shinji257

I’m sorry but I don’t plan to buy Halo 3 at any price.

  • The Real Napsta

    Silly MW2 kid.

  • CompactDstrxion

You idiots, putting Halo 3 on Games on Demand when it loads really really slowly when installed to a hard drive? Shows whoever runs this scheme really cares that much more about $ than the customer experience and satisfaction.
