    Bad Company 2 must go up up uppppppp

    Wow, Gears 2 at #8

  • tbs0

    Is it only me who thinks its strange that Halo 3 is #2?

  • cavsrock08

    I like this list.

  • nawlins08

    With May 3rd creeping up it will be interesting to see how the list will change.
    @tbs0
    Why is it strange that Halo 3 is #2

  • r3dreck

    I didn’t think SC:C would make it past 5.

  • Rossa AU

    Pretty obvious Game Room would drop out of the top 10 most played considering it wasn’t as much of a huge success as i bet MS would have liked.
    And i agree with nawlins08, why is Halo 3 at #2 strange? MW2, Halo 3 and BFBC2 looks like the right order to me :)
    Just everyone watch though, Halo 3 ODST will shoot up to #1 once May 3 rolls around hahaha

  • Tiptoe Turtle

    How and let me say this again, HOW can a game thats been out now for 2 years 6 months and 27 days still continue to hold the top 3 spots for activity over xbox live??? If your cluess on what game I’m refering too, its Halo 3??? Does anyone else find this fishy, odd, strange, fixed perhaps??? I mean dont get me wrong I like the game I play the game but after a game has been out for so long people do get board and move on to different games, and yes the game has been out very very very long. Is it because Halo was microsofts flag ship game that kicked off major sells of the original xbox, I dont believe a game thats been out for as long as Halo 3 has, and still beats out brand new just released games for most activity over xbox live and yet no one asks questions or thinks anything of it!!! Wake up people we need to start asking questions because its not making any sense??? When time and time again people post on here after one of these major nelson online activity updates,that Halo 3 sucks or they come up with derogatory names like stupidlo, dumblo, craplo, and whatever else. This needs to be investigated to the full extent of the law!!!

  • Grijpwijk

    @Tiptoe

    People like balanced shooters.

  • Kyaizen

    Splinter Cell is awesome and I’ve been playing a lot of GTA4 lately, especially online. And no Tiptoe, I play games like CoD4 and Halo 3 all the time, and they’ve both been out for 2 years. I’d much rather play either of those titles, and even WaW than MW2.

  • Champipple D

    I’m going to compile a freeware pong code and make an indie game called “Impossible Zombie Avatar Massage” and top the indie game charts with it.

  • SNIPE 316

    @Tiptoe Turtle
    It’s not so strange when you figure that its one of the most balanced shooters out there and that content for the game is constantly added through file sharing. Plus the playlists are updated every month and every weekend has a double-xp playlist. You’ll never run out of things to do on the game because of forge.
    A better question might be how is it not first?

  • zeldafanjtl

    “Just everyone watch though, Halo 3 ODST will shoot up to #1 once May 3 rolls around hahaha”

    I doubt it. Since there’s other ways to get into the Reach beta (namely, the beta codes they’re giving out to compensate for the Original Xbox shutdown), it will probably have its own ID. However, people who play it through ODST will register as a UU for both games, which might boost ODST into the top ten, but definitely not number one.

  • itzallgud

    RIP original Xbox Live games…you did good.

  • TBizzle4Shizzle

    I hope Game Room continues to drop like a ton of bricks off both lists. Also, @TiptoeTurtle… did you ever happen to consider, I don’t know, tons of people are always playing Halo 3 because it’s… fun? I’ve played more Halo than any other shooter in the last month, and I’m by no means a “fanboy.”

  • aStrangeDisease

    RIP Original Xbox Live. You’ll be in my memories forever.

    @ Tiptoe Turtle, Yes, I agree it is strange that Halo 3 is #2. I only play it every day. So do hundreds of thousands of other people. Such a balanced multiplayer game should be #1.

  • Xper Vadam

    @ Tiptoe Turtle
    IDK, maybe its because people like yourself continue to play it. It is in your last five played games.

  • CALMADOR

    We can still play Xbox original games… online… you guys ever heard of Xboxconnect? It’s approved by Microsoft too… I read that in OXM.

    Also… Gears of War 2 is #8

    It will probably slowly higher and higher as Gears of War 3 gets closer to release… but wont take #1 spot… thats for gears 3 ;)

  • Searing Wave

    Am I the only one to notice the blatant sarcasm in Tiptoe Turle’s comment?

  • Overdoz1z

    @Calmador,

    I don’t think Gears of War 3 (or any GoW game on that matter) will beat a Halo game in UU’s any time soon. Halo Reach will probably stay above GoW3.

  • chiruno99

    Because once again An indie ame with Avatars in it > A good indie game. It’s almost a crime that Shoot 1up is lower down than Avatar Showdown.

  • Tino008

    Good to see Gears at 8. Keep on rising!

  • Tarvu

    It’s not hard to imagine the death of Halo 2 resulting in Halo 3 being more popular for a week.

  • MACPH1ST0

    So Major, now that there’s no more Original Xbox list, can we finally get that Top Add-ons Purchased list to take its place? :)

  • COMMANDER PLOP

    This week I have been mostly playing Tom Clancy’s SPLINTER CELL:CONVICTION

  • I C FR3SH I

    I think halo 3 is a great game…eventhough I spend my time on modern warfare 2…. but the reason halo 3 is still up there is because its a great game…and that game has a lot of support…so many dlc packs..great community…and a lot of other stuff…(theater)… this game miight be old but its still a game every xbox 360 owner should have..

  • Lucky 13 X

    Even though I have had months to prepare, I am still missing my online access to Xbox Live on the OG console and games dearly.
    .
    It would be great if there was a way to purchase a disk from Microsoft with old DLC on it that you can download, but I understand the need to move on.
    .
    RIP Original Xbox Xbox Live. You helped start it all.

  • GTnotincluded

    @ Tiptoe Turtle
    Yeah I find it strange. Strange Halo 3 is losing to MW2 as far as xbox live (In my opinion). Of course Halo 3 is still high up in the top 3 still, as it’s a fun to play game, it’s hard to run out of things to do (what with forge, theater, matchmaking, and special gametypes every weekend.), it’s balanced (and gamers love balance, at least smart ones anyway.), and just all around a great game, so why wouldn’t it still be up there. Many games are mainly driven by hype, and when that goes down, so does the game on the xbox live. Halo is the type of game that is driven by hype, but once you play, you are addicted, and those that play games because they are fun will stay with halo games and make their population concrete until the next halo game, and those that just jump around to the newest game will go away and quit bothering those that play the game because it’s a great game. Now that Halo 2 is down, Halo 3 will gain all those players that left it looking for a new halo. And with Reach on the horizon, halo 3 will be soon forgotten, while Reach dominates the charts. It’s part of the circle of gaming(or shall I say Bungie?). Bungie releases an epic game and lets it sit with gamers for a few years while it dominates for a bit, and allows new games to also pop up and challenge it. Then, Bungie releases a new game that dominates the charts for a while, and the cycle repeats.
