Halo: Reach will be available in standard, Limited and Legendary editions when the game launches this fall. Full details on the contents of the Limited and Legendary editions are below:

In addition to the game disc and manual, the Limited edition includes:

  • Game disc housed in recovered ONI ”black box”
  • An exclusive Elite armor set for use in multiplayer modes
  • Artifact bag containing Dr. Halsey’s personal journal and other classified documents and effects that unravel long held secrets from the “Halo” universe

Halo: Reach Legendary Edition – $149.99 (USD)
The complete “Halo: Reach” collection. In addition to the game disc, manual, and the complete contents of the Limited edition, the Legendary edition includes:

  • Noble Team statue expertly crafted by the artisans at McFarlane Toys. Individually molded, hand-painted and individually numbered, this statue is a must-have for any serious “Halo” fan
  • UNSC-themed custom packaging
  • An exclusive multiplayer Spartan armor effect

The standard edition of Halo: Reach will have an estimated price of $59.99 USD.  The two special editions will be available only while supplies last and I’ll let you know when they’ll be available for pre-order. Until then, I’ve posted some high rez pictures of some of the items mentioned above.

In other Halo news, Bungie’s latest Halo: Reach ViDoc, titled Carnàge Carnivàle was also released today. We’re only a few short days away from the Halo : Reach multiplayer beta which starts May 3rd. As a reminder, you will need your Halo 3: ODST game disc to participate in the beta.

Anyone who buys the $150 version is wasting their money. Bungie makes too many of their collector editions and they become dirt cheap in a month or so. I bought Halo 3 for $60 at launch and then the Legendary Edition for $20 (I sold the actual game for $15).

  • BudMan

Major, any chance that there will be a same-day Games On-Demand release? If ever there was a game to do it with, it’d seem like Halo: Reach would be the one to try.

  • xXNapsterManXx

im getting Legendary its the Last “Bungie” Halo so im going all out on it plus i get a statue and book plus a sweet Armour unlock Flaming helmet please god making it flaming helmet

  • xXNapsterManXx

    @Frayteez
IDK what your talking baout nothing to show you got legendary you get a Exclusive armour unlock ingame and with the Limited edition you get a elite Exclusive armour unlock

  • Blue Thunder28

That sculpture looks wayy better than the helmet.. I got the limited edition for Halo 3 but maybe I’ll get Legendary this time around.. most likely sticking with Limited though we’ll see… This game will consume me.

  • JOECOOL 76

Legendary Edition is a must have for me!

  • Vulak Aerr

It’s going to have to be Legendary for me. £95 in the UK, not a bad exchange rate there, considering. Bungie’s last Halo. Gotta be worth it.

  • Ai Kago

More tat to cluter up the cupboard. Is this game even any good?, does it deserve a special edition? Lets face it, all these special editions…you look at them once and thats it.

  • Uzumaki15

Well I’ll be going for the Ledgendary and I’m quite glad I’m getting boatload of cash this summer.

  • Anonymous

I’m good with the standard $60 version. I really don’t need the extras, but the legendary edition might of swayed me if it included another helmet.

  • Z4M0
  • Ark Hunter

Why not a skull of an elite to go with the cat helmet?

  • MASTERJ0J0

Standard edition all the way. offical box art ftw.

  • ShaggyB

@Jonah Falcon: That was my thought… I was tempted… but ultimately… I can and will do without the flame head… unless i see it on ebay cheap or its up for dlc at some point

  • Surly x Duff

Ugh. I passed up on the cat helmet edition. I may spring the $150 this time… but hopefully common sense will set in as we get closer to launch. I mean, $150 is enough to buy 2.5 games. I love Halo, but man, I love money in the bank too.

  • MACPH1ST0

@ Surly x Duff: You can still find plenty of Halo 3 Legendary copies collecting dust in GameStops and other gaming stores, and you can get it for less than the price of a new game now… if you’re still interested, that is.

  • xZepher

Great so I have to pay $150 to get all the game content. Why does this not suprise me Major?

  • Matu Flp Krawfe

How unscupulous do you have to be to charge $90 for an action figure set, book, and two pieces of armor content that are probably on the disc, anyway?

  • Tiptoe Turtle

Yes I will gladly pay $149 for the spartan armor effect. I could care less about the other stuff in the box other then just the game of course. Heck I would gladly pay $300 for the spartan armor effect maybe $400. An armor effect that was once only avaliable to those who work for bungie is an item you can not pass up for their last and final Halo game. The game that started it all and made xbox what it is today. How could you say no!!!!! This is it people after this, Halo is GONE. Give it time though and soon enough Halo: Reach will meet its grave just like Halo 2 did on April 15th, 2010. See you on the battlefield in September!!!

  • MACPH1ST0

@ Tiptoe Turtle: With as lucrative as the Halo franchise has been for Microsoft, there’s no way in hell this will be the last Halo game we’re going to see, even if it is Bungie’s last one. You know they’re going to keep milking that sacred cash cow for every last drop they can get from it.

  • Ai Kago

Last Halo title…yeah right! they will be milking this until the cows come home. Just wait, and pick the special editions up when they are tons cheaper a month down the line.

  • Tiptoe Turtle

That’s fine Microsoft can drink all the milk they want, I won’t buy another Halo game if it’s not produced by bungie, so yes this is the last Halo game in my book!!

  • Metal Advent

If I can find someone who will buy the statue and stuff. I never like the action figures or statues for LE games. All I ever want is the special weapons/maps/characters the come with those units.

  • trickybuz93

Will probably have to go out and spend the cost of two games to get the legendary edition. BUt then, this IS Halo…so that makes it worth it!

  • KP ScuzzyBunny

I think everyone missed the bit about how the statue is made by McFarlane (i.e. not cheap crap), and is, in fact, limited to a certain amount. While that amount might be a relatively “large” number (100-200k range most likely), when they are looking to sell 2-3 million copies in the first week it’s a very small percentage. Yes, you can find SOME Legendary Halo 3 editions, from time to time, and they are cheap, now (3 years later?), but they are, by no means, “collecting dust at Gamestop”! I was trying to find a Halo 3 Leg Ed and a MW2 Prestige and there wasn’t a GS within 400 miles that had them (almost none of either in TX…I think El Paso had one). Like others have said, the content is decent, and those statues do run about $70 (see MW2 statue prices…and it was one character, not 5!)

Oh…and FYI for Battlefield fans, just checked the Dr Pepper site and it’s finally up!!!

  • Z4M0

I couldn’t care less about special edition statue additions.
    .
Actually McFarlane = cheap crap. I do know cause I own lots of their stuff. They sure set a toy industry revolution back at the time but those are like 90s comics; all flash but no long term value. If you want quality then go Bowen Desings or something else.
    .
I’d even put Sideshow collectibles’ or kotobukiya’s standard far beyond Mc’s. And that comes from someone who got lots of Image-wildstorm-topcow stuff at home.

  • cavsrock08

A part of me wants to buy the Legendary but I think im going to go ahead with the Limited. I wont pre order anything until I try the beta though.

  • NeoXDonut

I’m getting the “Halo: Reach Legendary Edition” for sure. :]

  • wolfzero01

I’d get the Legendary edition, but $149 is a little steep, besides Best Buy will probably have a few lying around like the Halo 3 helmet was. I might get the Limited one

  • cavsrock08

I just put $40 on the limited. I love the legendary but saving for college is also in my mind

  • I DLord I

Regular edition please and thank you. I do want that statue but… I got bills
