    “Demo expires on July 13th.”

Um… what? Is this the start of a new trend? Not liking the sound of this very much.

  • Helvedeshunden

    Agreed. That’s pretty lame.

Sometimes I download demos and don’t get around to trying them till weeks or months later. This could well time out before. I think I still haven’t tried the Van Halen demo.

I guess the publisher just isn’t interested in money. (har)

I vomited in my mouth a little.

The real question is: Why? That was the beauty of Rock Band, it wasn’t Guitar Hero (insert number or one of the many names here). Rock Band was Rock Band and even with the sequel, you could import all your tracks. I HATE switched discs around for the same title of game. That is why I stopped buying Guitar Hero titles. It got WAY out of control, and now it looks like the Rock Band label is turning towards the same lame way.

Harmonix! Why have you lost your magic touch? What the heck is a Green Day and why should I care? Music games have milked and over saturated the marketplace… you guys should have shown some restraint. I’m sure you’re still raking in the money though.

  • SilverFireshot

I have a feeling the limited time demo has to do with the music licensing.

It’s hard to imagine that the follow-up to the genius RB: Beatles is fk’n Green Day. As far as I’m concerned they have exactly 1 good song, Good Riddance (Time of your life).

I’m sure that there are lots of folks out there that fk’n LOVE Green Day, and think I’m a fk’n idiot, but hey, to each their own.

Just make Rock Band 3 already, Harmonix and leave the raping of the genre to Red Octane.

    @Toothless Frog

You will be able to import the Green Day Rock Band tracks into Rock Band 2.

^^ I agree, out of all the bands they could have used, they pick F’N Greenday. This one is destined for the bargin bin!

  • Mike Kelehan

If you’re a Rock Band fan, I think you’ll really like the teaser for Rock Band 3 that appears when you quit the demo. It announces an… instrumental change for the series.

  • Ark Hunter

Green Day shouldn’t have been a track pack, not a full game. At least pick a band with more than 3-4 good songs. How about some GnR? :D This was really a bad choice IMO.

Limited time demo is also lame.

  • The Grim Heaper

Harmonix… if you’re going to do that, please pick a good band. Like Led Zepplin! Anyway, I’ll give the demo a try later on. Hopefully this is the only demo that will expire.

  • chiruno99

Never liked Green Day. I’d buy it if it were Jimi Hendrix, or Black Sabbath.

  • r3dreck

Who cares… just put out more packs, albums and tracks not titles.

  • AnEternalEnigma

    ToothlessFrog

Green Day tracks can be exported into Rock Band 2. Do your research before you complain.

  • NBA Kirkland

    “Demo expires on July 13th.”

That’s interesting. If you have downloaded it before that date would you still be able play it after that date? If not, what if you disconnect from live and adjust your console’s clock back? My guess is it would work then.

  • Doh Ray Egon

This is the second time (that I am aware of) EA has made a demo only available for a limited amount of time. What exactly is the point of that? Don’t you want to maximize how many people try your product so that they may then buy it?

  • Greenskull

    Woo downloading now!

  • LouieVaz

    Do not want.

  • ElektroDragon

A demo with only two songs AND an expiration date?! And I thought ActiVision was greedy…

  • Xlrking

This game dosent exist people, move along nothing to see here.
