  • Blue Thunder28

    List looks pretty normal.. but looks like Sonic is doing good on XBLA that’s cool. :)

  • Pezby

    I feel a bit sorry for you Major, having to include “Try Not To Fart” on your blog…

  • BeeDizz

    How can Trials HD be #20 on the full list with no other Arcade titles in front of it, but be #7 on the Arcade list? Shouldn’t everything in front of it on the Arcade list be in front of it on the full list?

  • MACPH1ST0

    Go Crackdown 2! Hopefully the full game will do as well or better than the demo next week. Can’t wait to start chasing all those sweet sweeeet orbs!

  • MACPH1ST0

    @ BeeDizz: The Arcade list is based on full versions PURCHASED, while the Live list is based on unique users. So while Trails HD may have been the most played Arcade title while on Live (notice that a game does NOT have to have multiplayer to be on the Live list, like with Fallout 3), #1-6 on the Arcade list were bought more than it.

  • daniel c w

    @BeeDeez: No! The Xbox360 Top Live List shows how many people played a game. Those may have bought Trials HD ages ago. The Arcade list shows how many people bought the game in the last week.

  • thrst

    @BeeDizz One list measures playtime, the other purchases.

  • GameOnJohn

    @Blue Thunder28 Sonic games were on sale for 240 points.

    W@W is so high on the list. I should play some zombies soon.

    I will wait to buy risk when its on sale. Its good that it sold well, the trail was fun.

  • TBizzle4Shizzle

    Major, I know they are orange to match the layout of the site, but might I recommend changing the link color to something a little darker? Now that every title on the list is a link, it’s a little on the tough side to read when the entire post is bright orange.

  • Thiago123

    -Glad to see BFBC2 rally back and climb above GTA4 and Gears 2, still need to work on getting past COD 4 though. Onslaught mode helped, but I have to think this was due to the multiplayer update which completely knocked out all of the lag that was plaguing the game.

    -That Sonic sale really paid off…I was pretty close to picking up #2 (the best one, duh) myself but didn’t pull the trigger.

    -The best part about this list is that every single week someone posts about how one arcade game is higher on the played list than on the arcade list. Read the posts you idiots.

  • MeS FEAR

    nice to see battlefield going up again…great game…it deserves a higher place in the list.

  • daniel c w

    Yeah, my favourite game is on #2 & #3 in Xbox Live Arcade

  • SIRIUS L3G3ND

    Yugioh decade duels when does it come out!

  • Xlrking

    I need to play Battlefield more, but yes, decent list, surprisingly Castle Crashers finally went to spot 6 after staying on 5 for so long.
    Well the PS3 version of Castle Crashers will be better anyway, so i can see why its dying down.

  • Ironmaus

    While it’s cool to see Trials HD break the top 20 for unique users on the Xbox LIVE most played list, most XBLA games don’t make it that high. Can we please have a list of top 20 (or even just top 10) UUs for XBLA titles? I can’t imagine it would be that hard to create. Just a matter of cross-referencing and deleting, right? I can’t be the only one who thinks this would be an interesting and potentially useful list for us.

    Am I?

  • The Real Napsta

    How in the Hell is MW2 still number 1?

  • Xx Mudrash xX

    Come on Blur – Where are ya?

  • sho220

    @BeeDiz, @daniel c w, & @MACPH1ST0

    allow me to clear up confusion you all seem to exhibit with the xbox live list and the arcade list.

    xbox live list: how many unique users played any game (demo/trial, full version).
    xbla list: how many people played that arcade game who have purchased it. it isn’t purchases in the last week, it’s just how many unique users played who have purchased the game at any time (from launch till now). no trials/demos are included in this list.

    so if you add up the people who bought the game at any point in time since launch till now (xbla list) + people who haven’t bought the game (xbox live list), you get the #20 spot on the list.

    @Xx Mudrash xX not sure where blur is at. i bought it last week for $10 but i haven’t played it yet. you’d think the big sale on it would get people playing it though.

  • ROBBMAC

    My guess is Blur and Split Second both tanked at retail, relatively speaking. I have no idea what their internal sales projections were so they may have done well internally but neither of them has charted since release if I’m not mistaken.
    +++++++++++++++++
    I found that more shocking than Alan Wake not charting actually because there were online components to both of those racers so that should have boosted their profile a little bit.
    +++++++++++++++++
    I also think it was a dumb idea for them to come out nearly the same time, they cannibalized each other is my guess.

  • Xper Vadam

    From now on, anyone who is to lazy to read the post and understand why Trials 7th on the arcade list but 20th on the Xbox 360 list should just be ignored. It is ridiculous that almost every week someone has to explain that the arcade list is purchased and the Xbox 360 list is played. Lets not pander to these people.

  • MACPH1ST0

    @ sho220: Allow me to clear up YOUR confusion. It specifically says at the end of the post “… in the case of Arcade and Indie Games, full versions purchased DURING THE WEEK.” And yes, the Arcade list IS for purchases ONLY in the last week and has NOTHING to do with how many people have played those games. Seriously, how many times do we have to go over this, people???

  • BeeDizz

    @ Xper Vadam

    It’s the first time i’ve seen it. Sorry i don’t follow it as closely as you. I’ll try harder. Thanks to all the NON-douchbags that actually helped answer my question.

  • Its A Mirage

    cant believe halo 3′s still up there after all this time

    I think it deserves to be up ther and hopefully reach will match it

  • AutomaticOcelot

    Fallout 3 resurgence, nice!
    Miss seeing Blur on there but I’ve been playing other things too. T_T

  • Atomicow

    The Transformers Demo is in the top 10, but the full game isn’t? Who are all these people that don’t have the full game yet? Go buy it already!

  • Kroesis

    @sho22
    What MACPH1ST0 said. Please read and confirm your facts before posting them.

    Surprising to see Risk: Factions at the top of the arcade list despite the Sonic sale we’ve had. I guess a lot of people had already purchased Sonic prior to the sale.

  • metallicorphan

    Major-any chance xbox.com can get fixed so that people in the UK can access our accounts and turn Automatic Renewal to OFF….i don’t think the only way to turning it to off by calling xbox support is that great(people have been on hold for 35+minutes)…i have no idea why you don’t let us do this from our 360s either

  • Xper Vadam

    @BeeDizz

    I would hardly consider it unreasonable for someone to read the title of the list they are looking at.

    Xbox 360 Top LIVE Titles (based on UU’s)

    Top Arcade Titles (Full Versions purchased)

  • KP ScuzzyBunny

    MAC, you should know by now that it is pointless to argue about that…next week it will be there again, and someone else will “explain” (completely blowing smoke out their ass) why it is the way it is. Actually READING the disclaimers and headers is too much…or noticing that certain DEMOs are listed, while the games are not (kind of an indicator that they do NOT count together). That being said, RISK is awesome, and for the people too lazy to look into it, it is not only the “new version” (which some have criticized), but contains classic Risk (with various rule sets) and the Factions game (with various rule sets as well)…definitely an awesome deal, and well worth it. Now if they will just add the Halo Wars Risk pieces/ map as DLC!!

  • I DLord I

    @Xper Vadam

    Have you ever asked a grocery store employee where something is? Did they call you blind/stupid/lazy or anything like that because you didn’t take the time to find it yourself? Or did they just answer your question and show you where those damn eggs are?

  • KP ScuzzyBunny

    Maybe MN should just add “people who played it” and “people who bought it” under the sections since “These lists are based on global unique users connected to Xbox Live or in the case of Arcade and Indie Games, full versions purchased during the week.” seems to be too technical…and the eggs are always by the milk and cheese, even at Wal Mart.

  • LawdaddyCO

    @The Real Napsta

    How can you still be playing Halo 3?

  • MACPH1ST0

    @ KP ScuzzyBunny: Yeah I know I know, I try to be helpful to others here whenever I can, but some people just make it so difficult.

  • daniel c w

    Is the list for the US only, or is it international?
    (I never thought of that before, and always thought, that Mayor’s list areinternational, but now I want to know for sure)

  • daniel c w

    (Sorry for the typos in my last question)

  • Searing Wave

    @daniel c w

    I have every reason to believe the lists are international, as the numbers count anyone who connects to Xbox Live, which doesn’t isolate regions from one another. But I have no firm evidence for that so only Major can give a final answer.

  • Xper Vadam

    @I DLord I

    I don’t ask the customers where things are in the store. Fist, I would look at the signs and THEN if i couldn’t find it I would ask an employee. Not only is your analogy flawed, it doesn’t support your argument.

  • Xper Vadam

    *first

  • MACPH1ST0

    @ daniel c w, Searing Wave: “These lists are based on GLOBAL unique users connected to Xbox Live…”

  • chiruno99

    @KP ScuzzyBunny
    At Tesco and ASDA they’re not. Where is your God now?

  • Kroesis

    You know… chiruno99′s not lying. Just got back from ASDA. Eggs at one end of the superstore, milk and cheese at the other. It’s madness. Anyway, we digress….

  • Tiptoe Turtle

    Most awesome once again Halo 3 still going strong even after 2 years 9 months 9 days 17 hours. Where you at Call of Duty 4 oh yeah your in 7th place not able to stand the test of time like Halo 3. To bad!!!!

  • daniel c w

    Dear Major Nelson! Could you give us a global list, sorted by total playtime, and a list for multiplayer only? (in Germany we get those, but they are for Germany (or German Gamertags?) only.)

    @MAC: Thank you, I should have seen the world “global”.

  • Dominator5631

    Great to see Red Dead Redemption doing so well, it’s defiantly an amazing game. Game of the year so far imo.

  • bullka LT

    HI . i’m glad I helped Fallout to return to the tops as well:) wanted to get the achievement by killing beghemoths:)

  • wolfzero01

    ok, who in their right mind would want to admit that they are playing a game called Try Not to Fart?

    I’m amazed that Halo 3 is still ranked as high as it is considering how long its been out & the number of people that bash it.

  • SinedX360

    About XBLIG, where is Vampire Rage ? It’s a very good shmup for only 80MSP !
