its a tough call, because its expected that a Carmine will die, but based on the screen shots of Clayton, he looks like to much of a badass to die, so I want him to live. however if he must die I hope he gets a heroic death unlike his brothers.

I’ve never been a Gears fan so I have no real interest in the outcome but I’ll buy a shirt to support Child’s Play.

I thought about buying since it’s for charity, but since I learned you can’t use avatar items for other accounts on the same xbox, I’ve vowed not to buy any more avatar stuff until they change that. There are some really nice Star Wars, Harry Potter, and pets I would like to get for myself and kids but I am not doing so until the items act like other marketplace content and are usable by my entire family.

Come on Major, help make this happen.

Clayton Carmine does look cool. Kind of like a Gears version of Jason Vorhees. So I say he should make it to almost then end of the game and then die. In the most ridiculous fashion possible. Like getting killed by a baby Locust or falling into a pit of Tickers.

We still have the rest of the alphabet to get through. When we get to Zach Carmine, maybe he could live.

Could you please clarify the statement above it should read “A portion of the proceeds from this item will go to the Penny Arcade charity Child’s Play” (as it says on xbox.com).

I’d like to know how much is a portion? And why can’t they get all of it? It’s a charity for crying out loud, who else is taking a cut?

I am getting a Carmine must live T-shirt, because it’s messed up the way his brothers died in the other one. If this Carmine dies, let him be tagged with a grenade, then take out like 20 Locust. I tried to do that in the game alot. But he looks tough and looks like he can handle himself. Imagine if Marcus, Carmine, and Dom are the only ones that live. I haven’t read the Novels… so I am lost. Yup, Yup.

I personally want him to live because he’s 100% more badass than the two put together and that would seem a perfect waste of character if his fate is decided to die. .Carmine died the stupid way and B.Carmine died but C.Carmine can live own Kelleh. Afterall atleast one Carmine can grow up to be a Success and not die a Failure, and atleast if the vote is against mine, the charity will have more funds to help those in need. It’s a win win situation.

I’ll be choosing one at random. I’m not in the slightest bit interested in GoW but since the proceeds go to charity and I have a spare 80mp kicking about that I’m not keeping for anything, I might as well.

Shame there isn’t a vote to kill off Marcus – I think he’s the least likable character in Gears 2.

@Whetzel. Well, did you donate money to Child’s Play? See, the reason why charities host fancy dinners or organize marathons is that it spurs people into action. We should all just give money to good causes but we don’t unless prodded. It’s human nature. Would thousands have been donated to Child’s Play in the middle of summer otherwise? No. So hats off to Epic and Microsoft for raising money in a fun way that leaves an impact on a major game.

As for the hate thing. Step away from the keyboard. Turn off the Xbox. Take a deep breath. Go outside. Hey look, the sun! Pet the neighbor’s cat. It’s just part of the system that you ignore if it doesn’t interest you.

@AriesDog No, I have not donated. Not sure if I will or not, but you need to know that I’m not criticizing people for doing so. I’m simply stating that I don’t want to contribute to avatars in any way, shape, or form.

I tend to hold grudges for a long time and I’m still pissed at Microsoft for forcing avatars on us. I know that some people love them, and that’s fine, but I absolutely hate them and all I ever wanted, from day one, is the option to opt completely out of using/seeing them. And I know all of the usual responses, “just make the game auto start”, or “you should be playing games instead of staring at the dashboard”, but that doesn’t change the fact that they were in fact forced on all of us.

So to sum it up, my gripe wasn’t about people giving money to charity, it’s about me not wanting to contribute to avatars.

Props to people who do donate though.

I figured as much but since I was getting something for my avatar and on the waning hopes that Microsoft gives them the online exposure they could so easily do (they made a start with 1vs100 but now what?) I thought I’d get one I wouldn’t mind having my avatar wear.
“Save Carmine” doesn’t have the impact as “Carmine Must Die” and the latter’s statement works no matter which way the final decision goes.
Anyway, as I said, I had a spare 80mp left and it’s going to a good cause. Sorry Carmine, my online vanity dictates you must die!

The missus just bought the “Must Die” shirt because she hates the way the NPCs in the previous games always get in the line of fire. I am on the fence since I vowed to never support anything Epic ever did again after my tech-support fiasco with them. (Was completely like the Monty Python argument sketch.) I think I’ll just go make a donation instead, so that it doesn’t come from them. *I* wont be buying GoW3, and if you care whether your DLC code actually comes in that lavish LE that you bought specifically for some piece of content, neither will you.

There is an “indifferent” shirt…it’s the 3rd shirt when you pull up the GOW3 Avatar page. Two are for voting, the third is the same price (80ms pts…$1, or the price of 1/3 of a starbucks, 1/2 a gallon of gas, or a 20oz soda), and has the charity logo on it. Like others have said, this is a great event, it brings exposure to a charity a lot of people don’t know about, it gives the fans a say in a characters fate…AND ITS A DOLLAR! I know there are some cheap SOBs out there, but come on. If you don’t want to help out or vote, or think MS is skimming profits off the proceeds, then don’t buy it, but don’t knock the people who are contributing and helping out. Do some volunteer work at one of these hospitals, with these kids, then come back and tell me you have something better to spend your dollar on.
