Crackdown 2 – Toy Box Game Add-On

Finished up Crackdown 2 and are looking for something else to do in Pacific City? Wait no more. This morning we announced the Toy Box game add-on. Two new vehicles, five new toys, 10 new achievements and much more for 560 points. Once I find out the release date, I’ll let you know. Until then, full details are in the press release.

Game Add-on By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson

  • Wiizpig

These days it’s like (full-fledged, not weapons or other useless things) DLCs can only be released for 560 points.

    That’s not cheap.
Remember the good old times where DLC could also be 400 or less points?

  • A Place for Us

    Any new achievements?

  • Anonymous

    @Absyrtus
    You should learn to read

  • Nintendo Tim

@ Absyrtus – He says “10 new achievements”.

  • Exu

To be fair, it’s about the same amount of stuff that the DLC for Crackdown 1 had, and that was 800. Obviously we’d all prefer 400, but 560 isn’t bad.

  • Velete

Half the crackdown 1 DLC was made free shortly after its release, wonder if this will follow the same plan.

Doubt ill pick it up regardless, was done/bored of the game months ago – could have really used this extra gear in the actual game due to the totally lackluster weapons/vehicles in it (espcially in comparison to the first crackdown)

  • chiruno99

But I’ve completed Crackdown 2, it’s boring once I’ve done everything. Adding DLC won’t make it any funner.

  • A Place for Us

I did read but I think the post was updated. O_o

  • wolfzero01

this seems kind of expensive for a vehicle/weapon pack, even with 10 new achievements

  • HT UK

This really should’ve already been in the game, as there was hardly anything there at all, I already sold my copy. It was such a dissapointment.

  • ShaggyB

Im ready, Still playing that game. Could have beat it weeks ago but am intentionally avoiding it until i get my agent maxed…. So close and ive only cleared 2 of the three islands..

  • Oatmeal25

This game is a disappointment compared to the original… I’ll wait to see the DLC details before deciding.

If sales numbers for this game were dismal in Canada it’s because the game is still listed at full retail price of $70. If you want to play this game I suggest you rent it or, if you must, buy it for less than half price on ebay.

  • Izekial27

Velete – You obviously didn’t bother reading the press release did you.

Half the stuff IS free, half is paid for.

  • Ted Supreme

Please stop selling DLC for these “awkward” prices unless you let us add specific amounts of points to our accounts. I know it works out to an even number in real money, but I don’t want to have to buy 1000 points when I only want 560.

  • Kinectamaniac

I refuse to buy another thing from the Marketplace until the release date of YuGiOh Decade Duels for the Xbox LIVE Arcade is revealed.

  • Doh Ray Egon

This is ridiculous. Crackdown 2 was barely a sequel. It was almost a cookie cutter remake of the first game. Then to have additional content (That should’ve been in the game in the first place) and have the nerve to try and sell it. Terrible…just terrible.

  • Exu

@Ted Supreme It’s because eighty points is equal to the American Dollar even though the whole point of Microsoft Points is that they are not the American Dollar…

  • Ted Supreme

@Exu I honestly wouldn’t mind if my bank statement showed various £3.63 payments because I bought 280 points to buy an avatar item or something.

  • Garratose

@Doh Ray Egon: Crackdown 2 had an 8 to 12 month development cycle, so what do you expect?

  • Exu

@Ted Supreme That’s what I’m saying, there’s no need to use the 80 point increments just to make it convenient for one nation when the whole point of MSP was to make it convenient for all.

  • Doh Ray Egon

@Garratose: To NOT charge for the DLC.

  • xXNapsterManXx

You knoe why its 560 Dont You its so you have to buy 1000points instead of 500 in most cases Thats why all the DLc Are 800 1200 There put just above the Lower Amount of Points that can be brought so you have to buy More instead of 8$ for 500 there gonna get 16$ and with the Left over point you most Likly to just waste those on Avatar crap SO then next Dlc that comes around you gonna Buy More Points again Very Sneaky Way To Exploit By MS Annoys me How MS Abuse the Fans Money. You knoe what they Say M$

  • Lynch182

on the playstation, we use what we like to call “real money” hehe

  • metallicorphan

is there a deal of the week this week??

  • metallicorphan

ahh, nevermind i think its the Bioshock 2 stuff,i thought that was last week

  • Freeleeday

@Major, When’s the Bioshock 2 stuff actually going to be discounted. On Xbox.com it still says Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack is 400 points.

  • derSpu

    @metallicorphan
It´s supposed to be the Bioshock 2 stuff, but no deal so far…

    @Major
    Wat up?

  • Hedfix

The Bioshock DLC has yet to go down to it’s DotW price points. It’s almost wednesday here now. Can somebody fix this as I’d like to purchase Rapture Metro. Thanks.

  • derSpu

“This weeks Deal of the Week offers and Games on Demand titles have been delayed..hopefully they’ll be up tomorrow.”

I’d be all over this if Microsoft would accept American dollars as currency. How about you let me buy only the points I need Microsoft? That way you can still make it more difficult than it needs to be for people to give you their money and I can pretend you’re in the business of selling games and not holding onto people’s spare change like a cracked-out hobo.

  • KP ScuzzyBunny

…or you could shop at Gamestop or Amazon where you can buy just the DLC you want rather than a points card. Or buy MS points in different increments (Zune site sells in 400/ 1200/ 2000/ 6000)…or “budget” your points around multiple purchases…560 on DLC, some Avatar gear, rent a movie, buy an arcade game, etc, bringing your total to 1600. It’s only as complicated as ignorance and laziness make it. The pricing is STANDARD so that content can have one PRICE worldwide…so a press release can say “560 MS points” and it is valid everywhere. The fact that in some places it actually cost a bit more, and in others a bit less, is irrelevant. If you buy MS points at a retailer having a sale, then what does it matter if 80 MS pt is based on $1…or 150 MS point is a Euro or whatever. Try to find a press statement from Sony with prices…even the Wii/ DS store uses “points” to make everything standard.

  • Oatmeal25

DLC, movie rentals and GoD prices are not always the same in every region world-wide.

  • UNSCleric

I love this game and will be buying this when it comes out.

  • AttroPheed

    @KP ScuzzyBunny:

Oh my! That is easier than simply paying exactly what something costs with a few button presses. I didn’t know that I could optionally add more steps or simply dispose of any leftover points by spending them on other miscellaneous items that I don’t want or need. My ignorant laziness really gets the best of me sometimes.

  • legoadam

i cant wait for this but i wish it was cheaper

  • TechReconR6

Nice add-on. I wish it was cheaper also.
