    Dead Rising 2: Case Zero!

  • Vasilii Zaytsev

    25x EXP and Gears 2 only makes it to 9th, lol

  • Chicken Wyng

    Looks like Dead Rising 2 should rank pretty high when it comes out.

  • Jaymoon85

    Wonder where Halo Reach is on the list…

    :p

  • MACPH1ST0

    It’s great to see that DR2: Case Zero is doing so well, but I’m not going to act like the cheap price point didn’t help out with that though. The real test will be to see how many of those people who got Case Zero switch over to the full disc game once it comes out. That’ll be some interesting stats to see, and could determine how many more of these “paid demo” Arcade releases (like this and Dead Space: Ignition) we end up seeing before a full retail version comes out.

  • juan cabrera

    Modern Warfare 2, hope you enjoyed your last week on top =)

  • bullka LT

    @Jaymoon85: LoL :)

    @juan cabrera: Finally MW2 goes off the stage :) And I don’t like that BC2 will probably fall from the Top10.

  • SadisticDeath4U

    The list doesnt even make sense… top xbox 360 live titles includes arcade titles. Yet Scott Pilgram is number 2 on arcade but no where to be found on the top live titles? Yet monday night combat is on the list.. How about you stop putting arcade titles in the top 20 live title list?

  • SilentHunter382

    @SadisticDeath4U

    The arcade list is for how many unique users bought the games. That means in the top 20 live titles Monday Night Combat was played more the Scott Pilgram.

  • SinedX360

    Indie Games or Avatar Indie Games ?! ;-)

    I recommend ‘Pure Carnage’ just released this week for 80 MSP…And they are many very good indie games in developpement :-)

    Cheers

    Just wondering…if Arcade titles have their own top ten list, then why do Arcade titles also show up on the same list as disc titles?

  • Thief000

    I sure hope those XNA Indie Games are going to make it to Europe soon…with titles like Baby Maker Extreme, Try Not To Fart and So Many Girls So Little Time, I would crack myself up…LOL.

    Too bad the 25XP in Gears Of War 2 did not do much. I sure enjoyed King Of The Hill boosting to level 100 for a couple of hours…now my Gears Of War 3 special treat awaits!

    Next week Halo Reach will probably pwn the chart.

  • Kroesis

    @Kinectamaniac the top list is the Top LIVE Titles (based on UU’s,) i.e. the games on live which are played the most. The arcade list is the Top Arcade Titles based on Full Versions purchased, i.e. which XBLA title has been purchased the most.
    It’s entirely possible for a XBLA title to show up in the top ten for amount of times purchased *AND* show up in the top list for how many individual users are playing it on Live.

  • Mcmax3000

    @juan cabrera It’ll still have one more week because next week’s list will be the last pre-Reach one (as it’ll cover the current week that we’re in right now).
    @Kinectamaniac Because the XBLA list is based on purchases and the Top Live Titles list is based on players.

  • chiruno99

    OH SUPRISE SUPRISE!

  • LEGENDARY T0AD

    Call of Duty: WaW still in the top 3, I don’t think it’s ever been out of the top five since release, that’s about to change but what a great run.

  • Exu

    Zeno Clash is on offer and still doesn’t break the top 20. Lol fail.

  • JoeCool314

    @juan cabrera & @bullka LT: Indeed it is time, game is just garbage compared to BC2. Tho I will still be playing Battlefield! oh how long I have waited for these days to come!

  • Ark Hunter

    Why does Major’s GT have ゾーンレクリエーション in it? (if that doesn’t show up for you, it’s some oriental language) Are you boosting Major?

  • Kinectamaniac

    Okay…then where is the top ten disc titles list based on purchases?

  • Ark Hunter

    Hmm, now Majors GT is showing Détente for Zone. I guess maybe he is in Tokyo which would explain the Japanese.

  • Hauz20

    You have something against arcade titles, Kinect?

  • NOPECK7

    See ya Halo 3 and MW2 time to see Halo Reach on top

  • Dying Breeds

    I’ll be sure to play Halo 3 and Reach next week to help them both on the list. I get a horrible feeling MW2 will stay on top though

  • Anonymous

    How much do you wanna bet that MW2 will still stay on top? I can completely see that happening somehow, even though Reach will be ten times better.

  • Raptor2401

    Why Snoopy Flying Ace doesn’t appear on this list? a lot of people still play it
    And what happend with the new achievements of this game? They have a bug.

  • MACPH1ST0

    I just read that Case Zero broke a record for having the best first-week sales of any piece of downloadable content in the history of the XBL Marketplace. That alone should be proof enough to Microsoft that if you release a great game at an even greater price, you’ll get a LOT more sales than if you try to release almost everything now for 1200 points.

  • Kinectamaniac

    I love the Xbox LIVE Arcade…and own over a dozen titles. :)

  • dirty whirlwind

    MACPH1ST0: On the other hand, a game as Limbo (1200pts) has sold well over 300k, and Case Zero will probably never be as profitable as Limbo. That said, Limbo is an exception, although it is just one title among others that shows that a higher price point really can be extremely successful. Case Zero will probably continue to sell well up to release of Dead Rising 2 but after I expect sells do drop pretty hard.

    That said, 400pts should work substantially better for smaller games, with minimal publicity and anticipation around them, games like Roogoo (800pts) and Greed Corp (800pts), both great games that do deserve more attention but couldn’t hit it off maybe due to the higher price point could probably have been more profitable if they’d cost less to purchase. Although one of my favorite Live Arcade game, Space Giraffe did terrible at 400pts in the still early days of XBLA (and would most likely have been way more profitable if the price were higher, due to it being a fan’s game) , so deciding a price is not an easy task.

  • NorthernEmperor

    @Dying Breeds I share your sentiments

  • MACPH1ST0

    @dirty whirlwind: That’s the nice thing about Case Zero though. It’s a great stand-alone game in its own right. Long after the Dead Rising 2 release has gone and passed, people will still be able to enjoy it all by itself. But then if they are tempted to also get DR2, they’ll begin with a nice little head-start, no matter how far in the future they decide to get it.

  • Kroesis

    @Raptor2401
    The arcade list shows full versions purchased in the last week, not how many people are playing it. The new achievements have been sorted out now (finally) however, if you attained them before they got sorted then you’ll have to recover your gamertag and get them again.

  • Raptor2401

    @Kroesis
    Thank you for the explain of the arcede list and for the solution of the achievements.

  • CrazyCake

    I hope that future devs working on future xboxlive content and titles takes a some what of a leson from dead rising 2 case zero that anything below 1200 points will sell more than that well, prob not much unless its retail title is amazing enough, I.E Modern Warfare 2 and Halo 3 both map packs for all games were a bit pricey but people still brought them because they like the games witch will happen w/ Halo Reach.

  • Xlrking

    MW2 better get off the number 1 spot sooner or later before i get a stomach ache from constantly seeing it.

  • Wahrnye

    This list makes me kind of glad I decided to pass on Monday Night Combat. The game looked like it could have been a lot of fun, and the developers did a bang-up job on the title overall, but the fact that it barely cracked 20th on the Live list is disappointing, especially when it had 3rd overall sales (number sites list it as having some 171,000 sales in August since release).

  • chiruno99

    I wonder if Major is tking bets for when MW2 get’s dethroned. I’ll then put my money on the release date for Black Ops. I could make a fortune!

  • Kinectamaniac

    It cracks me up, the people that whine about Modern Warfare 2, but yet, it is always at the number one spot, and usually has over 500,000 people on it at one time. That right there proves that most gamers do still think that MW2 is a great multiplayer game.

    Gonna be interesting to see the list after the release of Halo Reach, and then it’s gonna get really good once Black Ops is released.

  • Anonymous

    GUYS. He’s Got halo reach ALREADY

  • lightsup55

    @KTfreak4Jesus

    Of course he does. Someone who works for Microsoft and gets special treats from video game developers… what do you expect?

    Besides, I don’t really care as I’ll be too busy playing Modern Warfare 2.

    Ramirez, take out those Halo fans with your tactical nuke!

  • rul8agn

    It really is ashame that people only play Gears 2 during XP weekends. I’m guilty of it too. It really is such a great game, but it takes forever to level up with standard XP. I always seem to find another game to occupy myself with until the next XP weekend occurs.

  • SalarymanDaishi

    @Kinectamaniac: Granted, it’s somewhat amusing that (at least based on a quick glance), everyone with issues towards any given popular retail game have already contributed favorably towards their appearance on next week’s list as well :) If anything, for the next half a year it’s going to be a small scale (temporary) miracle if the top six retail titles are going to be something else than a member of the COD or Halo franchises.

  • Snaverz

    I think Reach can do it for sure, you’re forgetting how huge the Halo community actually is.

  • GTnotincluded

    I don’t know why but I just have this bad feeling, even with all the 100/100, 10/10, 9.5/10 and so on scores that it received and all the preorders it has, that Reach won’t be able to dethrone MW2. It’s just weird too like I always say, that MW2 has people constantly complaining about the game, and yet they end up going back for more. If Reach doesn’t take number one, color me disappointed in the human race.

  • Sinist3r Alex

    @Kinectamaniac: Whenever I’m on MW2 there is less than 200,000 people total playing, and little under 100,000 playing the multiplayer. But those numbers are for night time, but I don’t see MW2 lasting for much longer.

  • a1984darkboy

    Odd, Scott Pilgrim ranks above Monday Night Combat on the XBLA list but isn’t absent from the top 20 while Monday Night Combat stays on as part of the 20 games played on Live.

  • Twisted xL3G3ND

    @a1884darkboy

    here’s an example: Monday night combat sold 100k games overall but scott pilgrim came out this week and sold more copies than MNC THIS week, so scott pilgrim sold more copies this week, but MNC has sold more copies overall, therefore more people are playing it.
