    This Fifa and PES in the same week … its looking good :)

  • Exu

    Also, Reach came out.

  • Spiraea22

    ! Been waiting for this! This is bigger to me than Halo Reach lol

  • Ghostwize

    I was rather disappointed in this demo. There is no commentary at all which completely detracts from the game. Feels exactly like 2k10 with slightly better graphics which is a bit of a bummer. A shame because this demo really feels incomplete as far as demos go.

  • Spiraea22

    @Ghostwize, ugh that’s not sounding good.. It’s been hyped to control differently and much better than any former NBA2K game. I could care less about it graphically, I just want that level of control they’ve been promising. Won’t be done DLing for me b4 I head into work but I’ll check it out later..

  • BROKENRADIO541

    Jordan makes this a day-one purchase for me!

  • Sneeches

    lame, all the sports games are getting old and boring to me.

  • Kroesis

    The only basketball game I’m ever planning on getting is NBA Jam when it arrives on XBLA.

  • Ghostwize

    @Kroesis

    You will be sol then because it is only coming packed with NBA Elite 11. Purchasing Elite is the only way to play the new NBA Jam on the 360 and from what I’ve gathered it is a watered down version of the Wii game, which is about as backwards as it gets.

  • Kroesis

    Well, if it doesn’t eventually come out to purchase (as a full game) on XBLA it just means that I won’t be getting any Basketball game. The publisher will be missing out on some potential income if they don’t. I have a lot of friends who loved the original and would buy the remake of NBA Jam on arcade, plus I dare say there are a lot of people out there who feel the same way.

  • ideal rep

    I agree with you Kroesis,Im one of those potential buyers but im not buying Nba Elite 11 to get it,So it needs to come to XBLA

    @ Sneeches

    Play NHL9, 10 or 11. Best sports games. Hands down.

    My thoughts on the demo (for anyone who cares):

    It does control very much the same as 2K10 which isn’t a bad thing by any means but the iso-motion dribbling controls that’s been hyped should have been shown off a bit in the demo IMO, like Gameflow was shown off a bit in the Madden 11 demo.

    Graphically.. well it’s quite jarring the graphical difference between 2K11 and 2K10. It’s a pretty big step up and.. well this is a bit of a pet peeve of mine that I had with Madden as well.. but sports games are getting to the point of “too realistic” in that I don’t feel like the animations flow as well as they used to for the sake of keeping realism. I dunno.. maybe that’s just me.

    Now my favorite part – the Presentation! Minus the no-commentary which I can’t fathom why that isn’t in the demo.. this is one of the best presentations I’ve ever seen in a NBA game. Massively better than 2K10′s

    All in all, I’m not sure how I completely feel about it.. I’m going to have to give a few more playthroughs (a 1 quarter, 4-minute demo?! Come on!) to feel it out a bit more and see if I will be picking it up on launch day as planned.

    Also, Jordan! No Jordan whatsoever. Even if it was just a trailer within the demo, it would have been something.

    This is great news. Counting the days, hours and minutes to release and will get day one. As you can probably tell from my gamertag, this game is a pretty big deal to me and IMO is the biggest release of the year. I will be downloading the demo tonight for sure! :)

    As for the commentary missing, this is done on purpose to keep the demo size down. 2K have done this before with previous NBA 2k demos.

    According to the Xbox site, Arkedo Series 02- Swap and Globeclicker, two Indie games are also on sale but are not mentioned on the console. Arkedo Series 02- Swap is also worth the 80ms if you love puzzlers.

    No post about DOTW yet ? I presume posting the month’s schedule is enough but, as far as I can remember there wasn’t anything about this week’s arcade/s.
    .
    This week we have three titles for 800 msp each;
    .
    KOF sky stage (top down shooter with snk’s characters-looks like it’s in japanes like other KOF releases).
    .
    Another SPACE INVADERS game, this thime one that evolves from the classic to recent installments of the genre like moving in 8 directions, lol.
    .
    And SONIC ADVENTURES the classic dreamcast game.
    .
    Plus a DEMO of legend of the guardians, based on a movie that came out of the blue to me. It’s about dragonlance owls or something, you know… the bland fantasy worlds out of a book in the vibe of harry potter, narnia, the golden compass. Man, if they only did blockbuster movies and/or games about Terry Pratchet ones…

    @Z4M0
    “Man, if they only did blockbuster movies and/or games about Terry Pratchett ones…”

    Seconded, hard.

    Question to everyone and particularly Major if you read this -RE: Preordered games…
    Sorry if this is a question thats already answered elsewhere but all I could find was stuff about pirated games which doesnt help me. I’ve not pre-ordered many games before, and those I have, I haven’t been able to play until release date anyway. My copy of NHL 11 has been sent out today and will surely be with me tomorrow and I was wondering if I would be able to play it? Like I said it is a proper copy, bought from GAME. I’ve also got quite a few preordered being released over the next couple of months and would like to know in advance if it is ok to play them (games from GAME have always come just the day before release date). Thanks ~~

  • Drop Dead Ken

    Khufu23, word around the internet is that if you get a game early (legit) it is ok to play. I would wait for an offical xbox answer, but everyone online is saying it is ok.

  • Spiraea22

    @Khufu23

    It was said on the podcast just last week by Stepto I believe (aka the guy that swings the ban hamnmer) that if you get a game early from a retailer that breaks street date, it’s a-okay to play the game. Pretty much, if you can play a game in a non-modded Xbox 360.. you’re good to go! They have ways of telling if it’s an illegal copy or not so if you got your game by 100% legal means, enjoy!

  • Khufu23

    Thanks Drop Dead Ken and Spiraea22. Is what I thought but nice to have confirmation :) Not listened to the podcasts for a month or so now… that’ll teach me not to miss it in future :P
