I completed the game and downloaded the first dlc, but only played about 5 mins of it. Got bored or the same old, run, flash light gun..

  • Bogie 19th

Awesome news. Alan Wake needs a sequel indeed. Loved the game, loved The Signal, and looking forward to The Writer. WIN.

  • trickfred

I can’t download it. I have the new beta dashboard, and I get an error telling me I’m not authorized to download premium content, and to change my Online Safety settings, though there is no ‘Premium Content’ option to change. Also, the website is timing out so I can’t purchase it that way either.

    Any suggestions? :D

Not sure whats up, Im in the new dashboard beta too and was able to download no problems. I downloaded through the in-game menu, have you tried that???

Havent actually played it yet though, will do after work.

  • trickfred

Sorry for commenting prematurely, changing the settings from custom to teen to adult to custom again seems to have reset something and I can download it now. If anyone else has that issue, just fiddle with your settings a bit and it should work eventually. :D

Alan Wake just got more and more Weird as you played it. These DLC didn’t help make the game any more sane. Very good Psychological Thriller.

  • Wingman1977

I played and beat both the original campaign and the 1 DLC and enjoyed the heck out of both. I’ll probably will enjoy this one as well. Alan Wake is by far one of my favorite games this year.

  • Monhegan

Loved, loved loved Alan Wake – it is a must play for every 360 owner. That said, The Signal DLC wasn’t too great. I’ll check out The Writer though. I need a break from Reach anyway :-)

  • Kinectamaniac

Where is the Xbox LIVE Activity list for the week of Sept 27th?

  • Punisher138

Playing through the main game now. Almost done I think. Great game. Hope there’s a sequel. I will definitely be downloading this once I’m done.

  • a1984darkboy

Love this game. Can’t wait to get this downloaded ASAP once I get home tonight. Already paid for and queued up.

  • Blue Thunder28

Microsoft is making it wayyy too easy to spend 2400 points before the 31st!

  • AutomaticOcelot

@Kinectamaniac: Are you in a hurry to see something in particular? Hint: Halo is #1. :)

  • KRiSX85

hooray i only just got around to playing the first DLC so this is fantastic timing :D

    oh and halo sucks :P

  • Wingman1977

I just finished beating “the writer” and I hope they release more DLC (the way the writer ends leaves it open to future DLC).

  • Ultima22

Good stuff – ’tis a shame there’s only two Add-Ons for it.

  • Wingman1977

Don’t worry Ultima22, there will be more.

  • Light Geiger

actually this is the last DLC it was confirmed by kotaku.com i believe. they simply got stomped by red dead redmption

  • DeviseUSA

This is the last DLC I’m afraid.

Glad to see the release announced on MN’s blog. The Signal slipped by with a peep.

  • Wingman1977

The closing credits of “the writer” says otherwise.

    the writter was fantastic
microsoft needs to give the go ahead for the sequel.
and needs to advertise it ALOT better next time.
    remedy deserves it

I agree! I bought Alan Wake recently but have been saving it for winter! Dark nights, lights off, mugs of hot tea and a pack of biscuits are a must for this game. I have played through the Main Game and The Signal and loved them both. I’ll be picking up The Writer too!

I do hope there is a sequel but I’d be just as happy with continued episodic content. At one point I expected there might be an Alice Wake game, where his wife attempts to rescue her husband, but the character of Alan is too interesting to be a side character so:

    Alan Wake 2 please!

  • chiruno99

I’ll play through Alan Wake before I decide I want this, or if one week it’s on sale.

  • Wingman1977

The game got a good amount of advertisement. Part of the reason (and perhaps the only one) the game didn’t do too well saleswise is due to the game being pushed back so many times (remember, this was supposed to have been launched the same day along with the 360 console). So it’s possible that interest in the game waned (unfortunately)which could be why it has lackluster sales.

  • Tondo

Finally ! Loved the previous DLC and im sure this will be just as good. Hope this is not the last time we see Alan Wake..

  • BHZ anakinjmt

This is the last piece of DLC, and the continuation of the story (if it happens, which I’m assuming it is) will be Alan Wake 2.
