This week, Xbox LIVE Gold members can save 50% on Scott Pilgrim VS. The World: The Game.
Normally 800 points, you have until Monday, November 15th to grab it for only 400 points.
Deal, Marketplace By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson
Even if there is only one game on deal this week, I was waiting for this one. Great game for a great price.
Buying it asap.
this makes me cry. I bought it for $10 and only had time to play for 20 min. should go back to it
Great deal considering the game has been out for what, 2 months? Less? Anyway, not complaining.
Deal price has not updated for the UK (again) yet it has for America. Do we have to wait for the site to update or can we download it from the US link showing at 400msp?
Just checked, we can’t download it from the US side. It shows up as 400msp, but then on the confirmation box resets to 800msp.
Major, we have this every week. Please can you make sure the UK price is reduced and correct before announcing? Want to start playing, but for the UK the deal is not active. Middle of the day here, like 9am in East coast US. Let’s do the UK first next week?
The Italian site was showing it on 400 MSP something like an hour before the deal officially starting.
If you are going to play the game on multiplayer (only local, no online avaiable) consider waiting a week or two: a patch (and a 160 MSP DLC with a new character and two playing modes. Arena and Dodgeball) should be avaiable soon for the free drop-in and drop-out during a game.
800 was cheap. 400 isn’t a deal, it’s a steal.
And yes, even without multiplayer.
ARGH! I hate having a Japanese account. I couldn’t take part in the spend 2400 points promotion last month, there’s multiple XBLA games I can’t access with a Japanese account, Scott Pilgrim is still 800 points…and I don’t get me started on all the bonuses Gold Members in the states get, like ESPN, Netflix and Last.fm…
Yeah, I’m an American, but I live in Japan…so, since launch, I’ve had a Japanese account, and put up with BS like geofencing, limited selections, Japanese menus (originally, when I setup my Live account, Japanese accounts could set the dashboard to English) and a bunch of other hoops to jump through…
It’s getting to the point that I’m ready to just throw my hands up in the air, say screw it, and start a US Gold account when my current Gold subscription expires. Thanks to the exchange rate, I’d save something like 20 to 30% on every purchase in addition to being rid of restrictions and missing content…
That’s awesome news. I already have the game, but couldn’t convince some of my friends to buy it. That shouldn’t be a problem now, sending them a message tonight
Thanks a lot Major Nelson for totally blowing off last weeks Xbox LIVE Arcade Releases.
@peteer01: At least the Japanese accounts get a decent amount of videoshows and other content. If you are complaining you should try the European marketplace:
– the only “show” we have is “sentuamessage” and I still don’t know why anyone would watch it: often It’s not even about the games themselves, just advertisment about features through “questions from the players”. I’ve seen the Japanese “Countdown Live” and “PlayPlay” and hey…they actually PLAY the games there, you actually SEE how the new releases are played, instead of babbling on about how lucky you are because some soccer game will get an update soon.
– NO indiegames, NONE. Have a XNA account? Nice, they’ll let you debug your own games, but also nothing else for you, I guess Europeans are not worthy. Unless you are talented enough to win the dreambuildplay competition (and get sent to the US, so technically, still no EU) you will NEVER be able to publish your content on live. That doesn’t stop them from advertising with the feature though.
– Zune marketplace is complete chaos. I live in Belgium, far in the Flemish part, but I get ALL my movies in French, with no option of changing it. I guess it’s only a matter of time before they start blaming piracy for the low sales here.
– 1VS100 and such…forget it. This is probably the same in JP (don’t know). Once again, Europeans are just not worthy enough for some games.
@Kinectamaniac: I’m Immature I know but your post made me giggle ;O)
Grabbed. Good game at 400pts. Even with the lack of mp-mode. Since weeks the first really effort to be a goldmember I have to say (imo).
Guys and Gals. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME
It has terrible bugs that will crash your 360. Ubisoft promised a patch months ago and nothing has happened.
Check the link for proof http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=4811054957&m=8271025978&r=9321091088
No online co-op? No thanks. $5 is of course a good price, but this befalls the same fate as LC&TGoL. Shame.
I’ll probably be picking this up. I’ll buy about any XBLA game at $5. If it was $7.50, I’d pass on it. Something about $5, I’ll about buy anything.
Will definitely buy. I wasn’t that big on the game, but didn’t hate it enough to warrant me not buying it a the $5 price point.
Very nice game! Grabbed it the minute I saw the deal on the dashboard.
Shame about there being no online coop and the unpatched bugs (apparently there is a patch and DLC underway).
MS should incorporate the patches of XBLA games in the full releases as soon as they are released instead of them using up more cache on the HDD anyway.
Anyway Major…could you tell us the XBLA releases for this week?
I heard Guwange was going to be released but wanted to know the price and if it would be available wordwide.
On a sidenote…I agree with you Boe2. We get VERY little in the Benelux in comparisson to other cigger ountries in Europe that already get little. Fix it MS, we know you can give us more content!
Great! An influx of new people to play with onli- oh, that’s right.
Regardless, this is a fantastic game you should all buy at this price, and I do believe the patch and Knives DLC (160) are scheduled for tomorrow to coincide with the (US) release of the DVD/Blu-Ray. So we can all wait for Microsoft to miss the boat and send out the complete patch a week after cert like Comic Jumper.
Anyway, I didn’t run into any of those glitches myself throughout my five playthroughs, but I do know they exist. If you’re anxious just hold off until the patch is up.
$5 bucks for this game? Sold!
I almost bought this a couple of days ago! Glad I waited. Sold!
About time a decent deal of the week showed up. Even though I bought this early on PSN it’s still a very good buy, and at 400ms, you have’t got an excuse. So buy it.
STIIL waiting for games promised three weeks ago. microsoft is breaking my [u] My heart now belong to apple. to which I already own 5 ipods all the way back from 2001
5 bucks you say? SOLD!
Im with you Thief000. All of these title updates gets on the nerves (of my friends (bc of the notification XBL sends that you have been signed in again to LIVE). Magic The Gathering offered a full new build instead of a title update so far I remember. So its possible. Perhaps the devs are just lazy. Anyway, MS should change that. Its their service.
OT: Level 3 now. So far highly recommended at 400pts.
So you want a PS3 style updating system? Gigantic downloads as opposed to piecemeal updates … yeah, sounds awesome.
Crud, I just bought this less than two weeks ago at full price. It’s a terrific game, though, I would definitely recommend it.
People are complaining about no online co-op? Woe for the SNES Super Street Fighter II that had no co-op, and cost $80!
And who cares if it needs a patch … you just launch the game in the same session you downloaded it, and *poof*, it’s done. I agree that PSN sucks in this regard that you usually have to redownload the whole game again just to get a patched version.
And if you need more notice about XBLM releases, have you tried some of the Xbox press? Like Joystiq? Also check the Twitter feed off to the left here. I know the M.N. podcast team think Twitter is the shnizzle, and they should realize not everyone has the patience to read what self-important celebrities had for dinner, so be sure to let him know, but in the meanwhile, you’re stuck to their preferred messaging methods.
The SNES’s online options were limited to say the least. What a silly thing to say.
Wow, that was fast. I was going to buy it last week but spend the points on other games. Now just bought it!
No way was i passing on this Very cool game
I’m still a big fan of retro esq games.
I just LOVE the sound track and the visuals and not forgetting Gameplay!! XD
The soundtrack is amazing, only to bad that there’s no online multiplayer
Any word on this weeks Games on Demand? What ever happened to Splinter Cell: Conviction also?
Kinectamaniac, I was a bit busy in NYC for the Kinect launch.
I tweeted those titles were available.
Follow me on twitter if you want to keep up on everything.
Seems quite fun
i played it for a bit earlier
@NorthMr Taylor: Promising a patch has nothing to do with when XBL cert will push that patch through.
Did you stop playing Fallout: New Vegas because it was crashing?
Oh SURE make it half off AFTER I buy the game. >:(
Also, what in the hell is going on with Sonic 4’s cover art? It’s updated in the Game Marketplace, but in my own Games Library it’s still the OLD coverart. Fix this please!
A deal of the week that is actually worth having and is a deal, whatever next!
I’ll probably buy this, but not play until Knives DLC comes out…
DOH!!!! If only my 800 points from the “Spend 2400 and get 800″ event came in this week
Is the DLC out for this yet? I know it hit PSN today…for only $1.99.
Off Topic- Major, I’m curious as to when a Top Titles list is coming out. It’s been at least 3 weeks since we’ve seen one. Nothing overly important, just curious.
You don’t need Major Nelson to tell you what’s obviously going to be in #1. Even though it’s Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball. [/sarasm]
I’d get it if I didn’t already have it on the PS3
Oh yeah, I grabbed this game as soon as I saw it for $5 Daughter and I are enjoying it
