Tomorrow’s deal: It’s time for some Erinaceidae adventures

Deal By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson

  • Supreme Entity

This Zombie mask was just free the other day. (Glitch maybe?) Who DIDN’T pick it up?

  • BHZ anakinjmt

MNC is totally worth 1200 points so 600 is a steal. Trying to get one of my friends to get it today

  • Glenn ZA

This is a MUST get game at any price. Even better now today with the discount.

  • xZ3XYxGR4NDP4x

    @Supreme I didn’t haha

  • Korahn 27

Doesn’t seem like a game I ever had any interest in. As for tomorrow’s deal – sounds like Sonic.

  • tylerh1701

I thought they were gonna do the Fable III DLC tomorrow too. I guess “One Foe – A world of good vs evil” is a hint for sonic???

Oh well. Hope Sonic 4 is 600 pts or less. PSN has it on sale for $9.99

  • Mastah27

Nelson, why the hell on Polish Marketplace there is only trial version of Monday Night Combat? What’s the point when you can’t buy full version? Same deal with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.

  • Gambit3rd

Ehm… But… What about DEAL OF THE WEEK? O_o

  • Exu

Dicking about aside, MNC’s a top game, definitely worth the 600. The appeal dried up after a little while for me but it’s hella fun at the time.
In before WAAAH I OWN IT WAAAAH I HAVE AN IQ OF SEVENTY BILLION WAAAAAH. Cry me a river, build me a bridge and jump off.

As for tomorrow’s Sonic deals, I can’t fathom why Sega’s being secretive about it. As far as we know it’s Sonic 1/2/3/&K/4 and some avatar prop all on offer, but that’s an open secret. Can’t help thinking there’s something more to it. Still, we shall see.
I’d like to see all of those other non-Sonic Megadrive/Genesis have a price drop at some point, personally. Fingers crossed.

  • Exu

Oh yeah, I forgot. Deal of the Week:

    Crackdown 2: Toy Box – 280
    Crackdown 2: Deluge – 280
    Deadliest Warrior – 400

Don’t know if there’s anything else, would be great if you could clarify, Major. I’ve not seen it mentioned elsewhere apart from other commenters here. It’s like nobody knows.

  • chiruno99

600’s a good price for Monday Night Combat if you haven’t got it already. Great game, very TF2/Tower Defence like with the Versus twist making it much better. I recommend it.

Still 80msp for a mask that was Free is a frigging bargain if you didn’t download it before and now feel left out of all your friends wearing a mask that if you want you have to buy it. What’s next, the 1Goal Charity T-shirt goes up to 80 points to? Best Marketing Team ever!

  • Boe2

People whining about props: I don’t know why you care about them anyway? Avatars are overrated :p

I heard many good things about Monday Night Combat, so I’ll give the demo a spin tonight. Ilomilo is eating up time now however :/

Oh, and does anyone know when we can expect Radiant Silvergun HD? After the teaser at TGS it has been very quiet.

  • Exu

Just a vague “2011” for Radiant Silvergun. I’m personally pinning my hopes on that game throwing open the door for more Saturn ports.

  • Wiizpig

    Yay Sonic’s next.

  • metallicorphan

@supreme Entity-yeah i picked the mask up on day one for free,i didn’t realise it was meant to have a price, and presumed it was still for free now..guess not

  • Punisher138

Oh man… If I waited I could of picked up the Zombie Mask for 80 points!!?!? Now feel ripped off for paying 0 points a month ago.

  • Hugoku

Excellent deal! These have been by far the best Christmas season deals ever.

  • r3dreck

ha, zombie mask was free a few days ago now they are trying to sell it off for 60, ha… hopefully there will be some big dead with day 1 cuz most of these aren’t too good so far.

  • a1984darkboy

Monday Night Combat is worth it at $15. At half price, you guys should really give it a chance if you’re into class based objective multiplayer and co-op. Loads of fun, this is one of the best games I played in 2010.

  • ElektroDragon

MNC is not even worth 400 points. Lame humor rip off of Team Fortress 2.

  • SkyyPlum

Hey Exu, I wasn’t gonna say anything, I said my peace after the last deal but you had to be a jerk. Yes, I did buy this game as well when it came out, but said my thoughts in the last topic. I’ve told multiple MS employees what I’ve thought as well and lets just say they didn’t give sarcastic replies and are working to fix my reward situation and see what else they can do. I think after me telling them and I’m sure I’m not the only one that these deals were a slap to the gamers that bought them during the summer considering we only got $5 in points if we bought 3 games sunk into their heads that maybe they should look a little more at long term customers, or maybe they were blowing smoke but we’ll see. Because really, these deals are helping new 360 owners, new live members, and people who didn’t really care for the games in the first place. Now really Exu, does none of that compute?

  • FinderKeeper

Get ‘em Day 1, pay Day 1 prices.
Get ‘em months later, pay Sale prices.
(“zomb3h mask 4 avatar” is the exception that proves the rule: 0 a few wks ago, 80 now)

  • BHZ anakinjmt

SkyyPlum quit complaining. If they’re worth getting Day 1 at their listed price than you’ll get it. If it’s not, you’ll probably never get it. And, surprise! Things always cost more when they first come out and then go on sale later. It’s how business works. That’s how when Mass Effec 2 first came out it was $60 and now Gamestop has it for $20. It was worth it at $60 so $20 is a steal.

And ElektroDragon I have one thing to say to you: GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT!

  • SkyyPlum

Surprise BHZ, not everything cost more when it first comes out, example Super Meat Boy was $5 less for over a month. And I wasn’t gonna complain till I saw Exu’s comment. Plus I still feel ripped off by Limbo, I bought into the hype paid $15 and couldn’t stand it. Was so sad when it won so many rewards cause it means more games like it will be made, so there’s a game that wasn’t worth my money. As for ME2, its a retail game which can be sold back, traded in, or returned but its my favorite game of all time and worth $100. I dont get upset at retail games going down in price cause of what Ive mentioned but digital sales are final and I wish they would create a rental service on xbox live for arcade games like 1 or $2 for a day, but im dreaming.

  • BHZ anakinjmt

Super Meat Boy was the exception. And, hey, you could always, I dunno, download the trial and play that first before just buying the full thing. That’s what I do, and that’s how I know I didn’t want Limbo. Don’t cry about buying into the hype. You had the chance to try it out for yourself for free to see if you wanted it or not and instead you paid full price. You have no one to be upset with but yourself.

And who says digital sales are final? How does that make sense?

  • FinderKeeper

    @ BHZ

He means that you can’t sell them to GameStop, etc. Though I think that would be an argument in *favor* of waiting until games are on sale, and NOT buying downloaded games on Day 1 if chances are decent that they will cost less later, since there’s no way to recoup the purchase price.

Kind of like not being able to resell a ticket to a movie, concert, or sports event once you’ve already “redeemed” it. Of course you can “scalp” the ticket if it’s scarce and make a profit, (apparently some redemption codes end up on eBay), but that’s only if you don’t redeem the product yourself.
