I’ll probably pick up Hydrophobia from this.

  • Shadow0810

    I’ll probably get Hydrophobia “pure”

  • sleepydumbdude

Picked up Hydrophobia. Will try Aqua. All ready bought hydro thunder during the holiday sales.

  • Stephan1237

    Bought Hydrophobia

  • Reluctant Hero

Yup, definitely time to get Hydrophobia. I tried the demo after the “Pure” upgrade and had a good time with it. For $5.00 / 400ms, I’m ready dive in.

  • r3dreck

wasn’t hydro 400 during the holidays?

  • Lasborg

Hydrophobia for me as well. Was a bit bummed out by the bad reviews it got when released, but a “pure” update, a price drop to 800 pts and now a Deal of the Week 50% markdown ill take it yes sir, thank you.

  • bullka LT

@r3dreck: yes it was 400MSP. Anyway.. I recommend it even at 800MSP.

Haven’t yet tried the Hydrophobia demo after “Pure” update. But without the update it was a NO GO for me. I don’t think update would change my opinion.

    BTW. How long is Hydrophobia?

Wow I’m really surprised that there is no one here complaining they paid full price for hydrophobia and wanting a refund. Ah well I’m sure there’s time

  • BIGJON416

I’ll download the demo for Hydrophobia to see if it is a keeper.

  • metallicorphan

i may pick up Hydrophobia,400 points is a nice price point

Major -it seems that Microsoft are still blocking Stranger’s Wrath HD remake for XBLA..i for one would love to see it on XBLA…why are MS so picky?,its coming to PSN no problems,it’s getting annoying losing out on these games,Strangers Wrath,Back to the Future,Jurassic Park…seems things are going backwards now

  • Antarael Dulac

So…where are the publisher deals this week? I got used to it =P lol

  • Korahn 27

    So, it’s a water-themed week?

  • Exu

Aqua’s quite a nice little game, not bad for the price.

  • a1984darkboy

Hydrophobia is pretty awesome, especially at it’s 800 pts price I bought it at. So I highly recommend at what’s essentially a $5 game right now. I’ve been meaning to pick up Aqua forever now but I’m still not financially there. :( Oh well. I’ll get it eventually at whatever price.

A shame they couldn’t have knocked off an extra $5 for Hydro Thunder. Make it a trilogy!

  • A Place for Us

Now I want to go swimming.

  • sepulturas666

Just got Hydrophobia. That is pretty good deal! :D

  • Strongbow

Just bought Hydrophobia after finding out about the Pure Update, great game so far.

    Official Pure Update info :-

  • Rossa AU

Wow Hydrophobia for only 400 points is a definite buy once i get my points i ordered :).
Meant to pick up that game ages ago, never got around to it…..now is my chance :)

  • Mcmax3000

@metallicorphan – I thought I read that it wasn’t Microsoft blocking it as much as it was the developers being unable to get it under the XBLA file size limit.

Anyway, on topic. I already own Hydro Thunder & highly recommend it. I downloaded the trial of Hydrophobia again & am going to check it out with the update to see if it’s worth the sale price (which it probably will be). Was just starting to try it out & got side tracked.

Hydrophobia (esp. with the Pure update) at only $5 is a no-brainer to get at that price, even despite the mediocre reviews it got. Looks like that’s about all that’s worth getting from this though, but I would have gotten Hydro Thunder too if it was also $5.

@LYSTER OF SMEG: Why would anyone be asking for a refund? You always pay a premium price for being an “early adopter” and getting things at launch. The fact that some things drop in price faster than others is just part of the business and is something you can almost never predict. And besides the Pure update is free for people with an early copy of Hydrophobia anyway.

  • TG kolz4ever

MACPH1ST0 the answer to question is simple. Because people are beyond stupid online so they think they will get refunds all the time because of some bs excuse.

  • chiruno99

To take a 1gb update to make a game from worse to bad isn’t my kind of cup of tea, the other two were major disappointments to me. I’ll stick with Dead Spacing for now, and then when it comes DEATHSMILES, FOR GOD’S SAKE FINALLY.

  • PastLife666

Definitely picking up Hydrophobia, I need a new arcade game badly.

  • Boe2

Yes, in 2 weeks we get DeathSmiles, “only” 8 months after the American (ofcourse regionlocked, because they love us so much) release. No clue what the releasedate on Radiant Silvergun is, but if it’s released around the same timespan, people will get hurt :p

  • metallicorphan

@mcmax3000-yeah i knew about the size limit, but what gets me is that they have to release it as an arcade game, they release xbox 1 and 360 games on the marketplace and some of them are over 6gig in size,so why not release Strangers Wrath as something other than an Arcade game,if MS rules are so strict

  • darkjester74

Gotta love those XBLM descriptions. Read the full description of Aqua and still have no idea what kind of game that is.

  • chiruno99

    Boe2’s like a bro now.

  • I DLord I

  • Exu

Hell yeah Desthsmiles. Zavvi + 15% off voucher = yesplz.
On the topic of deals, I’d like to see SEGA next out the gate with some publishing deals. I’d be all over some of those Mega Drive (aka Genesis) games if they were all 50% or more off, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

  • Exu

    *Deathsmiles. D:

  • bullka LT

To you UK guys, yeah Deathsmiles is worth every penny! Are they going to sell the Limited Edition with the faceplate over there too? And yeah I know what you mean about the frustration of waiting months (sometimes even years, like with Venetica) for games that other countries already have. I’m still waiting for them to announce a North American publisher for the 360 version of Gray Matter. :(

  • chiruno99

At £20 I’m ecstatic it even comes sealed.

  • Lavindathar

I got Hydrophobia, and thought it is very average. Water Physics are great, shame you never really get to use them.

Gonna try Aqua later in the week.

  • Exu

RE: Deathsmiles. We don’t get the faceplate, since faceplates are no longer relevant anyway, but we do get this: http://www.zavvi.com/games/platforms/xbox-360/deathsmiles-deluxe-edition/10296497.html
    (£20? Zavvi + Britvic 15% code = £15.18)
While we’re on the subject, I’ve seen more shops advertising Raiden Fighters Aces. Is it finally coming out? I heard it was in limbo because the publisher had gone bankrupt.

Hmm I wonder what if that Deluxe Edition of Deathsmiles is “deluxe” compared to the Japanese version? Because the NA version has that deluxe edition content listed as part of the regular game under the Mega Black Label mode.
