Arcade, Deal By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson

  • Gonin

tempted by both Serious Sam’s, very cheap and good fun. Worth it people?

  • a1984darkboy

Whoa! I’m liking this latest movement of having 1200 ms point games get big sales to 400. FYI, I’m pretty sure the community would love seeing 400 pt and lower games get a sale too.

@Gonin: You said it yourself. It’s cheap and fun. Sounds like you already convinced yourself to get both games.

  • NavComm81

I have both the Serious Sam HD games. They’re fun, but be warned now… very fast-paced and VERY hard. For 400 points, if I didn’t own them… I’d surely grab ‘em both.

    Geometry Wars 2 is a must-own if you’re a twin-stick fan as well.

  • onemorechanc

I already have “Geometry Wars 2″ … great game, and worth it at the 800 points I paid, 400 is a steal.

I would love to see the first “Geometry Wars” go on sale. I own it on one of the XBLA compilation discs, but if it showed up on the marketplace for less than 200 points I would buy it just to save the hassle of switching discs.

  • beautifuldreams

second encounter is much better than the first

  • RyanMc360

Not super excited about any of these, I think I’ll pass.

  • Yukon Cornelius

    Major … please fix linkage to Serious Sam:TSE … it’s broke. :-)

  • Yukon Cornelius

Request … if DLC is required to finish a game’s modes, then it should be on sale as well. For example, Space Invaders has 3 bonus stages that AREN’T on sale. Also, please fix spelling of “Manhattan”, especially since you were just there for the Kinect launch. :-)

  • JohnnieMonkey

Hooray for multiple choice sales! If my vote counts, let’s keep doing that. Nice to have options when there’s a repeat deal, or it’s something I already have.

Already have GW2 and Galaga. Getting Space Invaders for sure. We’ll see if the demos convince me to get the other three.

  • chiruno99

This is a brilliant sale and I’d recommend EVERY title! If you haven’t got any of the 5 then I suggest you trial and buy. Don’t let them pass you up, because it’s only once per full moon when the Marketing Team strike gold.

  • sleepydumbdude

when is whatever we voted on last week becoming a deal?

  • HypnoticPenguin

Tempted to pickup the Serious Sam games IF I can convince a few things to do the same!

  • Monhegan

If you already have Geometry Wars 2, check out ‘radiangames Ballistic’ on the indie games channel.

  • Exu

@beautifuldreams So far I prefer the first. The obvious action is to buy both!

  • tylerh1701

@Sleepydumbdude – I believe the member’s choice sale is Feb 28, if that’s what you are refering to.

  • The Grim Heaper

Gotta remember to pick up Serious Sam…

  • trickybuz93

I picked up Geometry Wars 2, great game!

  • Blue Thunder28

    Wow! Amazing DotW!!!

  • MJ23 GOAT

I wish Serious Sam: TSE was available in Australia then I would pick it up for sure. The weird thing is the demo has been available on our marketplace since September last year and the first Serious Sam was released here which I snapped up. Please Microsoft/Major Nelson can this be fixed or can you provide us with an explanation?

    Thank you.

  • L4mby

I’m with MJ23. I’d love to be able to get Serious Sam: TSE. I bought the first and loved it, now I’m gutted I can’t get the Second. Could you speak to Croteam and get them to release it in Australia. It’d be much appreciated.

  • DeathConvoy

    I’m with MJ23 and L4mby!

I’d thought the sale might have prompted them to fix, but alas. Linky for others to see the strangeness of what MJ23 is talking about:

  • chiruno99

You don’t need the bonus stage DLC to finish the game. It only gives you what it says it does, extra bonus stages.

  • Jaagger

Serious Sam TSE, STILL not available for Aus people. Got the trial months ago but me and friends want the full version for co-op … Major please help

  • L4mby

I just found out that PC users in Australia can get The Second Edition and not xbox live members. WTF? Just because were are not as big a market as North America or Europe doesn’t mean there isn’t anyone who wants it. It’s really upsetting that you (and croteam) treat your Australian gold members of xbox live with such contempt.

  • David Brookes

What is happening with Serious Sam: TSE? Why can’t I unlock the full game?

  • PriusGuy2004

Major, I have a general question about the DotW… Although I think this a great way to provide discounts, it seems to me that sometimes some full XBLA games are getting discounts for a week when they have already been on sale recently. For example, I’m pretty certain that when EA had their week-long sale, “Risk: Factions” was 50% off in January. Now I see that the same game is going to be a DotW again next week. I guess I am confused on how the DotW is chosen…because it seems to me that with tons of other games out there (and lots more DLC), the DotW wouldn’t have to repeat itself (somewhat) so soon. That’s just my two cents…for what it’s worth.

  • a1984darkboy

Decided to pick up Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project and Serious Same: The Second Encounter. $5 a pop is too good a deal for me to pass up. Plus it’s a good way to get ready for Bulletstorm!
