Xbox LIVE Arcade House Party details and dates

 

The Xbox LIVE Arcade House Party kicks off February 16th with the release of Hard Corps: Uprising and continues into March with a total of 5 releases. Here is the full schedule:

February 16 Hard Corps: Uprising, 1200 Microsoft Points

February 23 Bejeweled Blitz, 800 Microsoft Points

March 2, Beyond Good & Evil HD, 800 Microsoft Points

March 9 Torchlight, 1200 Microsoft Points

March 16 Full House Poker, 800 Microsoft Points

    Beyond Good and Evil is a must play and buy for me. The opposite for Bejewelled since the joypad controls make me play slower when in Bejewelled 3, I can go like the clappers. The other three are feh.

    Wow B: G&E only 800. I was nearly 100% sure it was going to be 1200. :D

    BG&E at 800 is a must try at least. I’ve heard it’s good but never got around to it. At that price though, it sounds like a steal.

    I own Torchlight on PC (gotta love those Steam sales), but I only played around an hour or two of it because I got it during finals time. I still have it installed to come back to. I recommend to everyone to at least give that one a try because it’s really good on PC and I’m betting it will be on consoles too. Besides, how many dungeon crawls are on consoles? Torchlight doing well might be the incentive Blizzard needs to put Diablo 3 on Xbox.

    Good lord, Beyond Good & Evil HD for 800 allard bucks (aka $10.00 USD) is an absolute STEAL.

    I’m definitely buying [Contra] Hard Corps, BG&E, and Torchlight. Not too sure on Bejeweled or Poker. I’ll let my wife play those demos and let her make the call on their respective purchases.

    First impressions: No, maybe, VERY YES, no, no.
    Of course I’ll be trialling them all anyway so that could very much change but I find it hard to justify paying 1200 for a port of a PC game that’s a year and a half old, and 800 for a Texas Hold ‘Em poker game when the first one was free.
    Of course BG&EHD is, well, yoou’d be mad not to.

    So, any rebate promos?

    I’m skipping Hard Corps, and buying all the rest. Hard Corps really doesn’t seem to fit well in this schedule, being 1) too expensive and 2) another golden age classic remake, basically.

    Wait, why is Full House Poker not free? I thought it would be sth like 1 vs 100, just with poker you know :/ Could anyone explain?

    I’m interested in all of them but BB, it’s just lame on consoles I think.

    While I don’t like Torchlight on the PC (not fond of how you control the characters), I’m thinking it’ll be better with a controller so definitely a grab for me, as well as BG&E.

    Wow I’m shocked to see that BG&EHD isn’t 1200 as expected. As if there weren’t already enough reasons to get that game… I just hope to God that they didn’t screw up the porting for it!
    Torchlight should be pretty good since they’ve completely changed the controls for console controllers and it also has online co-op. I’ve always wanted to try the PC version but never got around to it, so this will be the perfect chance to jump in.
    I’m sure there will be some kind of rebate deal as with all the other XBLA game promos, but they’re just finishing up the details before they announce it.

    There’s no co-op in Torchlight. Torchlight 2 on PC will have it, but not this XBLA-version.

    Already own BGeE on PC (is as HD as it can get), so not buying that, I can recommend it to anyone else though :)

    Torchlight….likely a buy. If it has online co-op it will be a must-buy.

    Beyond Good and Evil HD looks to be the best. Good stuff MS. 800 MSP is a good deal. I don’t think i will buy the other games. I will try the demo’s of course. I agree we are going to need a bigger Hard Drive. Please Microsoft release one this year.

    Beyond Good & Evil is perfect for live arcade game, lots of fun, 8-10 hours, and little to no replay value. If you’ve never played it, I’m sure the remake is worth 10$ in play time.

    @DePetri: Yeah sadly there won’t be any multiplayer for Torchlight at the time of release, but the devs are on record as saying they’re keeping an open mind to possibly adding it on later as DLC, like what happened with Lara Croft: GoL. So hopefully they’ll release a co-op patch for it, because a game like that is so much more fun when you can play it co-op too.

    Found out Torchlight was single player only just like on the PC. So PASS for me, won’t be buying it. I’d spend 1200pts for a 4 player co-op dungeon crawler but for single player… i’ll wait till it goes on sale. There’s no incentive to buy it at launch.

    What ever happened to the rules that XBLA games had to support multiplayer?

    Beyond Good & Evil is a day 1 buy for me, I never got to play it on the original Xbox, about time!!!

    Might try the demo of Hard Cops to see how close it’s to the classic Contra feel.
